WG mentioned several times already that balancing process is still to come. This is just testing new concept of CVs. -

I think this is just a straight nerf to JB because it is still little to strong. Also Flambass mentioned that only Gun Reload Consumable will be changed. WV had ridicules concealment in the first place, especially when compared to Colorado. This is just making her "normal" BB again. -
With 4x2 4inch guns she would be OP at T7. Monaghan works as both configurations are balanced for T6. Balancing late war Blyska configuration for T7 will require too much nerfing and that would be pointless. Moving Blyska with 4x2 4inch guns to T8 or introducing Grom in that configuration or Blyska'42 (or whatever year) could be a possibility.

Nope, it is a bad idea. You usually want to use RPF if you have a lot of close interactions with enemy DDs. But you also need a tools to deal with them, like good concealment, smoke, hydro or radar, to get the most from that skill. That's why RPF is very useful on DDs and CLs like Wooster and Mino, less useful on other cruisers and almost pointless in BBs. Unless you like to push very aggressively and be close to front line, RPF is a waste of points. Sure it could be useful at the later stages of the game with just few surviving ships but even in that case it is still very situational and those 4 points could be better used on other skills.

It is similar to Jervis but same as GM. Jervis was a Destroyer Leader and the most noticeable difference compared to other J/K/N class destroyers is longer aft house (on which aft gun mount is positioned).

Good thing is that we are finally getting a premium Soviet cruiser. Imagine if they gave us another Royal Navy one instead as we already have a ton of them. /s -

Lazo was planed as eleventh ship of Chapayev Class. This could be Chapayev class as originally designed in 1938 but not 100% sure. -

Interaction of large-caliber AP shells with DDs
fumtu replied to Episparh's topic in General Discussion
Number of DDs in random battles battles will be soft capped to 4, number of BBs will stay the same. Number of DDs and BBs in coop battles will be capped to 4. -
They could follow their WV logic and give us two Vampires: HMAS Vamipre 1941 HMAS Vampire 1959 They should never release her in that state in the first place. But following above logic we could get Belfast 1945 (or some other year). Damn with this system we could have an infinite number of versions
-
But still there is a consistency. Once you pass from 152mm to 203mm, you keep that caliber till the end of the line. You have same example to all cruiser line, except RN of course, where at one point gun caliber change from bellow 200mm to above that margin but it stays there, it don't go back again. Mino already has concealment of 8.8km or something close to that. Putting that lower you are entering in the area of DD concealment. I don't think that would be a good idea. Yes they could have a good concealment but problem is how good and how to exploit that advantage as, comparing to other CLs they are lacking in armament, both guns and torps and, at least for T8 and T9, AA. I don't think there is a need to rename Vampire. WG could use HMAS Vendatta as T10 DD instead. In both iterations, Vendetta had distinguished carrier.

True there is a very limited number of cruisers but still this doesn't justify putting them above their tier. For example both Quebec and Ontario were very similar to Fiji, in fact Quebec belong to sub-class of Crown Colony Class. Compared to Fiji the most noticeable difference is lack of one main battery turret. But for that they are not gaining anything that would be of some importance to the game. Heath would be the same, AA basically the same, same amount of torps, same well almost everything. Putting them at T8 and T9 respectively will require a hell of increase in RoF and a lot (and lot) of consumables and gimmicks. IMO that is not a good design. You can't compere this to your Commonwealth tree proposal. First from Omaha you can choose to go either through CL line or CA line. This mean that if you already have IFHE captain on Omaha, you can keep it and go for Dallas or you can respec your captain and go for Pensacola. Following ship will provide consistency in both gameplay and optimal captain skill. Problem is that, in case of your proposal for Commonwealth cruiser line, you will have to replace a 25% loss of DPM for T8 and T9 with (additional) gimmicks and consumables to make them competitive as there is no other way to do that. And not just compared to RN CLs but also taking into account US CLs and Soviet T8 and T9 which are both CLs.
-
Both this ships were weaker than Fiji as they both have only three turrets and not gaining anything significant that could be used in the game. Tiger Class proposed for Australia should be equipped with 5.25inch guns not 6inch guns. Also there is inconsistency in the line, from 6inch to 8inch back to 6inch which is not a good design.

Even DD HE can citadel Emerald.

Poll: How many UK DD missions did you get?

Nothing since Acasta. -
6.97km is without Captain CE and Camo. Haida is T7.

If Daring ends to be too strong WG should nerf Daring not buff Khaba or any other DD because of that. Daring should be bring on the level of other DDs not the other way around.

You think that Lyon has goodlike AA. So let compare it with WV Lyon: Short range: 30 20mm Mid Range: 32 40mm Long Range: 24 130mm for total 83.2 DPS West Virginia: Short range: 40 or 64 20mm, depending of year Mid Range: 40 40mm Long Range: 16 127mm for total 120.8 DPS Only advantage that Lyon has over WV is that 130mm have 5.19km range compared to 5.01km range of WV 127mm guns. On all ranges WV has more guns and better DPS. Gnais has slightly better long range but at mid and short range WV has way better AA. But most important thing is that WV IS BETTER IN EVERYTHING THAN COLORADO which is the ship that she should be comparable to as they are sister ships from the same nation. I don't mind WV at T7 as long as she is not implemented as straight better ship than Colorado. Either WG buff Colorado or heavily nerf potential of WV, as long WV don't heavily powercreep Colorado I don't mind putting WV at T7.
-
Well WV have a huge advantage over Colorado considering long range AA, mid range is same and at short range WV could have either slight advantage or quite significant advantage Colorado Short Range: 37 20mm Mid Range: 40 40mm Long Range: 8 127mm (58.4 DPS) West Virginia: Short Range: 1944 - 40 20mm, 1945 - 64 20mm Mid Range: 40 40mm Long Range: 16 127mm (120.8 DPS) Also worth mentioning is that WV 127mm guns would have 5km range compared to Colorado 4.2km. All together this is significantly better AA than Colorado. If you count better torpedo protection, more health, better secondaries, better gun angles WV will outclass poor Colorado quite significantly. I didn't find anywhere any info that WV speed was reduced after modernization. Only significant drawback I could find is that because of increased beam she could cross through Panama Channel which limited her service only on Pacific. But I doubt this would mean that WV could not pass through the channel on the Two Brothers map. She is more fitting at T7 but comparing to Colorado she is a better ship and balancing her would either require nerfs in gun performance or WG could simple ignore this and put her as a way better premium solution to Colorado. She could be balanced for T8 but I think that she is simple to slow to fight T10 BBs.
-
Problem is that she would straight better ship than Colorado. She would have more health as after reconstruction WV displacement had risen from 33,591t full loaded to 40,396t which would translate to more HP, better torpedo protection, way better secondaries and AA. Only way to balance all of this are less accurate guns and I doubt people would like that. And better AA is important, you can't simple dismiss it as balancing factor.
-
I agree with this. Make WV regular T7 BB and make Colorado Premium T7 BB. This way WG can justify increasing of sigma on Colorado so that Colorado could have better, more accurate, guns for less AA and less HP. Than Tennessee or California could be added as T7 Premium which will be something between WV and NM.
