  1. What do you mean? Irian is still "Work in Progress" and CCs just have only one round of testing so far. I guess it would be released somewhere around the Lunar Year as there is a special permanent camo for it,
  2. Christopher Lee as Fu Manchu would be way better choice
  3. So lot of things announced yesterday. Let's see HMS Exeter. F****** yes, finally. True, I expected, and wanted, that she will be T6 but I could understand that she is T5. She seems quite good and good thing is that she is somewhat similar to RN CLs which mean they could use the same captain. Bad new is this is not the way I wanted RN CAs to be, but Exeter might not be representative of what possible RN CAs branch would look like. Also all those consumables sound like she will be quite squishy with a very exposed citadel. We'll see but anyway big plus to WG. New permanent camos for PA ships. They look nice, not that I would use them but they look really nice. PA Special Captain. Also good thing. Not sure about their clothes tho. Still a good thing. Dragon Port overhaul. Didn't use it before, still won't use it but I guess this is a positive thing ... kind off. Like that WG used new port queen, YY, for the new overhaul image. T9 ranked in Arms Race mode? Not sure what to think about it. Maybe it would end good but personally I don't like it, on both accounts. Very likely a pass from me, not even for some steel. CVs in 0.8.0? WT ... So from 0.8.0 we will all become Guinea Pigs for CV rework. Well for some time I'm considering to take a break from WoWs, maybe this could be a good time for it. Really would like if WG should continue with test on separate server.

    Last NW Snowy perma camo

Prinz campaign tier 6 silver ship perma camos

Perma camos we received for last two NY campaigns with T6 ships were quite nice. Hope this year WG will do the same.

Prinz campaign tier 6 silver ship perma camos

No they are not, they are special perma camos.
  8. Together with smoke screen that would mean that Exeter will be squishy as hell and only heavy cruiser by gun caliber. Probably very similar to Emerald, with little more health, better guns and less torps.
  9. Yes but there are 25 T10 ships. Those who have all them could 5k of steel for just 25 games. That is not a small amount. When you add 27 T9 and some 20+ T8 premium there is a lot of potential for additional steel. For some it could mean enough to buy a ST
  10. Don't forgett that you'll be able to get some steel from "blowing a snowflake" from T8 premium, T9 and T10. So depending on number ships that could be nice amount of steel from all sources.

    RL for Destroyers.

Very useful skill. In competitive almost mandatory, in randoms you can avoid using it on Soviet DDs but very good pick for all others. Only in the games where you are the only DD it is less useful, but in the games with more DDs quite helpful.
  12. What are you talking about. They would have fantastic concealment, most of them were never seen before. Hell even the WG, company that have access some of the most "sekrit" documents, could not provide a single image of T10 BB, that how good its concealment is.
  13. Just because they were never seen doesn't mean that they never existed. There are some rumors that Japan, despite having Yamato and bunch of flattops, knew that they are not match for Glorious Soviet Battleships and choose to attack US instead and that whole point of developing Atomic Bomb was to have some way to maybe, just maybe, counter Soviet Battleship Fleet.

[EXCERPT] WGFest 2018 - RUBBs and RNCVs

So you are thinking that SU T9 BB won't be as good as Missouri, Musashi or JB? It will probably have 9-10km concealment, maybe 2.65 sigma, cruiser dispersion, standard Soviet radar ... Only problem is that it will not be added soon enough for next Ranked.
  15. Well considering OR armour layout they could end being quite resistant to HE spam. Also their project were huge, Sovetsky Soyuz class was even bigger than Iowa, I think you can expect some 80k+ of HP at T9 and 90-100k for T10. Will they be good? I think they would be awesome. After all Soviet BBs were the most anticipated class since WoWS is released, right?

    Ships for T9 ranked

Not to much exited about prospect of using Arms Race for Ranked. I don't think that would be a good idea. There is very little control of what you can get and once ships start collecting bonuses you can end being (almost) stealth radared by Missouri which is ridicules. If I play T9 ranked, I would use what I have and that is, Fletcher, Chung Mu and Z-49. All of them have something good, Fletcher - DFAA, Chung Mu - Radar and Z-49 - 5km Hydro. All have good guns and good torps. I could train/get 19pts captain for all of them. Didn't keep a single T9 cruiser, have Missouri and probably will be able to buy by that time a JB or even Black. But I'm not BB fan and Black torps in competitive mode? Well I'll see what I'll do when season starts.

    More heavy cruisers needed?

Well there is not much left out there, well at least not much that was actually built For Japanese WG could use Maya in her 1943 refit with stronger AA but only four turrets for T8. Tone is currently in void, but she is marked as T7 premium. All other premiums would be clones of already existing ships in the game. US could provide Oregon class, which is very similar to Baltimore class. But as we will soon get Wichita it is questionable what would another 3x3 203mm T8 premium will bring to look attractive. Maybe it could be balanced for T9 instead. Other possible premiums would be Northampton class at T6 and somewhat unique ships at T3, USS Brooklyn with 4x2 203mm guns Soviets could not offer a single built heavy cruiser as a premium. Only premium CA that Germans could offer is Blücher , but not another Admiral Hipper class cruiser but one from Imperial German Navy, with 6x2 210mm guns. Depending on balancing she could fit anywhere between T4 and T6 (but not much likely). There are several options for UK, HMS Exeter at T5/T6, some of County class for T7 and HMS London at T8. But as there are currently so many RN premium cruisers I don't think we well get any of them soon /s. Similarly Commonwealth could get one of two Australian County class cruisers as their T7 premium. France options were Duquesne and Suffren classes. Both classes were very similar but both could fit no higher then T6. Italy had three classes of heavy cruisers, Trento, Zara and Bolzano. One of them or sisters of those that would end as regular cruisers could be used as premium. I think that Bolzano could be T8 premium. Only other country that can offer CA premium is Spain, one of their Canarias class cruiser could be T7 premium. There is large number of armoured cruisers but as they usually didn't have uniform main battery, very few could actually be used for game. At least for now or without some imaginary refit.

    More heavy cruisers needed?

Akizuki had improved pen before IFHE is added since she was introduced in Update 0.5.15. She had 19mm HE pen so she can fight other DDs. Only when IFHE is added in Update 0.6.0 this is changed to 17mm as now there is a skill that could improve her pen https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/patch-notes-060/

    Harugumo! NERF IT!

One correction, Aki, Kita and Haru can pen 24mm of armour. To pen 25mm it would need to have 26mm pen.
  22. fumtu

    More heavy cruisers needed?

Yes in theory BB AP should overpen 13mm but that was for DD. CLs are more wider and is questionable how it would work especially if BB AP hit CL while angled and pen. Also I think that there will be same problem as with DD with double pen, actually overpen and full pen, which still exist. I must say that I'm nor expert and all this is just theory. Personally I don't like it, maybe it could work but still don't like it. Also I doubt that WG will go that way. It require to much changes on models, with possible implications of need to refund premium CLs.

    More heavy cruisers needed?

Sorry but your comparation is not completely viable. First IJN gunboats are still DDs, Kitakaze still have 5.9km detection range. Haru what 6.3km or something like that. They have smoke, speed boost and torps compared to let say Wooster. And they would have more armour than your CLs. IJN gunboats would be way more suitable to CL role they your CL proposal. And thinking that CLs would be more resilient to BBs because of lack of citadel? I wouldn't count of that to much. Wooster is a big ship and BBs shouldn't have much troubles getting full pans, and on extremelly squishy ship even that would be enough.
  24. fumtu

    More heavy cruisers needed?

To be overmatchable by 203mm, CLs should have 13mm of armour. This mean that everything, every DD gun with or without IFHE, even the Daring, would pen it with HE, every secondary gun above 80mm will pen it, not counting all the CLs, CAs and BBs. They would be super squishy and some of them, like Wooster, are quite big ships which means they will suffer quite heavily. If that is the way you think that CLs should than OK. Personally I don't. Even if WG remove fire chance completely it would still be mandatory skill for 152mm. What would you like more, consistent damage or hope that RNG will get you some fire. It isn't a bad idea, thing is that even with stronger AP it is still situational. Against ships that is showing you bow you can't do much but spam it and hope for some fire. Giving them better angles could improve AP but that could make some other things unbalanced.
  25. fumtu

    More heavy cruisers needed?

Still looking your proposal, concept is very similar. Sure you'll remove citadel, but then image 6 DM shells overmatch your bow. Even with 30% or 33% of pen damage this would be massive and in the on the other CL can't do a s*** in return. Damage suffered from CA AP, especially high tiers per volley would be ridicules. CAs would need to provide a somewhat different way of playing to CLs, they don't need to be straight better. This shouldn't be like "Oh, there is a CA vs CL. Well CA should win as it is stronger". CAs has slower reload and less DPM. That's why their shoots needs to count more. They can't be HE spammers as CLs. Give them more damage per shot or better pen. Maybe small increase armour or different armour layout so that they should be more durable. But please no need to nerf CLs to ground to make CAs more relevant.
