I remember it quite clearly, as I managed to collect all free tokens. I did not have issues with other mission even tho they were grindy. As a clan we even had lot of fun trying to sync drop and fight between our selves in that Rogue mode. Sometimes, three out of four teams were ours. But that daily mission was horrendous, with need to consistently play 24 out of 25 days in the row and get all daily missions, and do that during summer vacations time. And there are some people who wasted 160-200 euros, somewhere in that range, for boxes to be able to get Benham on day one.

Still the only T9 premium DD with radar and one of only two DD at that tier that can use radar. Smoke + radar combo is not necessity to make Black good. Personally I would rather see WG put both consumables on the same slot than for example increasing its reload time. But IMO WG will try to keep both smoke and radar and tweak soft stats instead.

Are you sure? I don't think that currently that is true and without stats like for example how many times there is T8 ships too it is useless for analysis. And anyway it is completely irrelevant as you can't balance T9 ships to be equal to T10. Compering Black to Smaland or Ragnar is pointless, of course those ships are stronger.

Nothing new there, it was just WG being WG Considering that WG don't want to release Black in current state, they will enrage someone whatever their decision is, either those who have ships or those who want ship.

But again, what is a point? What you are suggesting is just a new premium. Do you really think that all those people who are writing threads and posts requesting WG to release Black will suddenly stop to do that just because WG released some premium that is not Black? Of course not. New ship is not a solution. It is either: WG release Black as it is for everybody WG nerfed Black for everybody and them release it WG do not release Black at all It is simple as that. Anything else is pointless.

It does not solve an issue. WG should either say that they won't return back or return it in the same version for everyone. There is no middle ground here. WG promised that Black will return for coal. If they say that they want return it, they will broke their promise. Sure, it would not be the first or last promise they broke but it would make them look bad and untrustworthy. Again. But if they go with the other solution, not releasing same version to everybody, they will still broke their promise which would make them look bad and untrustworthy. Again. So both solution are lose from their point of view. Third option would be to nerf Black and give everyone same version. It would enrage some current and potential future owners, but they could at least say that they did their part. Sure, they will look bad and untrustworthy again, but they would be able to say with the straight face that they fulfill their promise. The only option that would satisfy everyone would be releasing Black as it is now to everyone. But WG don't want to do that, so that option is out of question. Now back to "USS Grey". What would be point of this? Why made up a Fletcher class destroyer when there is 175 of them? And many are way more famous than USS Black which is not particularly famous ship. So creating a new version of the Black would be pointless as it would essentially be a new Fletcher class in the game. So why not just create a new premium? Like USS Johnston for example, or USS O'Bannon, or any other of craptone of famous Flatchers. But than you will still have same issue, as people will still ask for Black, as WG promised that it would return. Black issue will not be solved by new ship, either way someone will end unhappy with this. It is just question who.

In that case smoke option would be pointless as you will end with crappier Fletcher. The only two radar ships which Black should fear are Smaland and Ragnar, third one, YY, has same DPM as Black ... but all of them are T10 and should not be taken into account when we are talking about Black balance. At T9, only other T9 radar available is Chung Mu, has worse DPM and could not count on smoke to disengage. And both T8 radar DDs, have both worse DPM and lesser radar duration and no smoke. So out of just 6 other radar DDs, Black should lose vs two and be be somewhat equally matched with one, all T10. At his tier Black just don't have competition.

WG wants to make her weaker, not stronger, and RN smoke would definitely make her stronger. My guess would be either putting smoke and radar on the same slot or, mor likely, temper with soft stats like concealment or reload. WG just said that they would need to see what they will change and to test those changes and that everything will be announced in dev blog, and you expecting that they will do that in short period of time? They were provoked on thos response now, it was not planned announcement. So don’t expect it any time soon, probably not before spring or summer next year.

He is talking about those camos that you can buy for Ranked and CW tokens in Armoury. Default camo is same no mater how you get Black.

No it is not in the same way or otherwise it would not end with slower reload and less range. It was a reword ship which was subject of balance change.

Yes, but it was also rebalanced by changing direct stats of the ship. Just check its reload.

I am just hopping that, if WG is going to update Black model together with the rest of US DDs, that it does receive correct model, like the one that Kidd has, and not just updated Fletcher model. Black was one of the square bridge Fletchers, it never had rounded bridge. All Fletcher class destroyers, starting with pennant number DD-518 (USS Brownson) and after had square bridge. This will not provide more guns or torps or anything, or impact ship in any way ... just for historical accuracy.

Black was award for five time reaching R1, Flint was for three times. Lot of owners are good, but not all Black players obtained it by reaching R1. Black was sold for steel and was not expensive too, especially if you have coupon. Stats are good because she is a great ship, not just because of players.

There will be no renaming. WG promised Black for coal, people expect Black for coal. If WG gave them different ship sure players will take it but it will still demand Black, especially if new ship is not as strong as original. So that would not solve nothing.

Neustra is strong ship but not nearly as game decisive as Black. Neustra stats are good, but still way bellow both Black and Benham. Hell, Benham even outperfom some strong T10 premiums like Smaland. Which is just showing how good WG is in balancing ships. And inconsistency is the best word to describe WG. So is Musashy ... and Belfast ... and Georgia ... and some other ships that were removed from being too strong popular. But I guess WG needs some good bait for their boxes.

WG is addressing Black just because they put themselves in situation where they promised return of the ship which they obviously didn't want to return. And now they have two option to return it in nerfed state not return it at all Third option is to return it in original state but that is highly unlikely as Black is still a really strong ship. Benham on the other hand was never promised to be available again. Maybe, if WG decide to return it, they will address it too. BTW, there are two ways to get Benham, via grind and via money. Or combination of those two. But it wasn't cheap.

Probably. There will be some that will complain, maybe even some of those who don't have it but expected to be able to buy "original" Black. I have her and I don't care, I am more interested in her getting proper model. But I stopped caring about lot of things in WoWs. I guess that some of those who get her in "proper" way, by reaching R1 five times in the old system would be really pissed off.
