Don't forget the fun of eating a random unexpected torpedo in a DD. Unless Subs have torps similar to CVs, you'll instantly see half or more of your hp gone. For BBs at least, eating a random torp once in a while isn't too much of a problem (unless it reliably starts a flood, though BBs at least have some torp bulges to decrease the incidence of that). It honestly looks more and more like subs will need some kind of deep water torps which will effectively render them entirely useless against DDs. Otherwise DDs will need to magically spot subs at all times in vicinity, which again, would render subs useless. Man, this looks once more like the AA dilemma. Once it starts to be useful, CVs cannot do anything, the moment CVs can reliably hit through AA, they just dominate.

L'exemple de Stalingrad? Ok, donc.

French Destroyers Event: the Full Guide
Toivia replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Nope, you'd have to add up all the rewards from missions you completed, daily shipments and maybe other means I cannot think of now. Maybe if I feel like it, I'll try to get an accurate count of containers I opened. I estimate it at over 30 already, with potentially still 9 more left to get. No missions for ships, obviously. -
Fun fact, with Marceau, there's currently 11 (11!)* announced and unreleased T9-10 Freemium/Premium/Special ships. A full 9 of them are actually T10. Compratively, even with California, I only count 8 premiums anounced at tier 8 and lower, with a bunch basically forgotten at this point like Viribus Unitis, Indomitable and Leone. No wonder WG is going for such idiocies as subs, they're now already in full process of milking T9-10 with lower tiers all but forgotten. *Colbert, Friesland, Hayate, Marceau, Ohio, Paolo Emilio, Siegfried, Slava, Smolensk, Somers, Thunderer.
-
They can always drop it to T9, make a T9 lite version or start with selling T10 ships directly. We've seen the former already and I wouldn't put the latter past them. We're talking about WG "no subs" and "no selling T8+ ships in premium store" here.

Afaik there's motorboats in the same battles with Nurnbergs and Cossacks in them even right now. Don't see a difference to the power disparity between a BB and a destroyer. I wrote how DDs fought BBs in the post you quoted, pls reread... (Hint: BBs are rather than not "larger ships".)

ST - ranked sprints, sound and visual improvements, new camouflages
Toivia replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
Having a nice alternate camo on Cossack and Bismarck would sure be cool*. Fingers crossed for a mission reward. Wasn't next Sprint supposed to be T6?! Goddammit, I'll never grind through Icarus... Anyway, T8 is too high a tier for Sprints. You should leave T8-T10 for regular ranked. *I obviously mean the historical ones, although the Sam ones aren't that bad either. -
You forgot to mention the other prem T6: West Virginia. Either way, California and Tennessee always fascinated me by their very weird hulls with extremey pointy noses and extremely fat torp bulges*. By seeing them from the air, it always confounded me how such a shape can even manage more than 10 knots of speed. Also, are the secondaries supposed to be of the "better" variety like Massa, Georgia etc.? Unless I'm mistaken, 5km secondaries at T7 is equivalent to only german, no? And last, that's some spicy concealment there for surprising cruisers with 12 guns. *Should be a pretty good torp reduction. Would they make for good T10 premiums to put in the NTC or sell for exorbitant prices?
-
If I ever get the Marceau, I'll call her Sophie. Hmm, did Italians build a Bellucci at some point? Makes me almost regret the renaming of the T10 RM cruiser Milano. Almost.

Jak jsem psal už včera, 0 hitů znamená pouze DMG modulů - čili to splash DMG. To neubírá lodím hp.

"Could be designed in a way that works"? I haven't seen such a design that wouldn't be absolutely absurd. If Subs are made to sail at 30 knots even submerged, they have nothing to do with the real thing at all. If they can successfuly engage a bunch of surface warships and survive, they have nothing to do with real things at all. That's where our opinions strictly differ. I consider the BB, CA/CL and DD gameplay at least reminiscent of the actual real combat. Sure, fire chance is made the equalizer to enable smaller ships defeating BBs, but it mostly feels right. CVs should actually sink whole fleets for it to feel right, but obviously that cannot be done. And CVs are still OP even at a fraction of their real world power. Only by making them absurd shadows of the real things can you try to achieve some semblance of balance, which is just out of place and ridiculous. Similarly with Subs, you'll have to overbuff them to a point of them not being nowhere near like the real subs just in order to compete. I just cannot let such absurdity happen. DDs fought other DDs and as Pikkozoikum mentions, dropped torps on larger ships. As it works ingame (with the obvious outliers like the absurd Harugumo etc. outright killing anything). BBs and cruisers regularly fought each other. Neither led to the annihilation and obsolescense of the others nor was useless in the fights. War Thunder would be awesome if they actually had batteships and WW2 cruisers (the larger ones). Other than those missing, there's also the issue of very few players and very long wait times (from what I've seen on some streams). So until those change, WoWs sadly has no alternative. That's why I am so adamant against screwing up what I like, I have nowhere else to go when the screw up happens (right now I'm mostly isolated to Coop and Ranked, where CVs are not a problem/not present).
-
Well that's precisely why CVs have no place in this game. And neither do subs. One class shits on all other ships and basically ended them while the second one was absolutey no match and was used for merchant ship sinking. Simple obvious reason why neither one of the classes should be in the game with BBs, cruisers and destroyers. It'l like if they put minelayers/sweepers in the game*... *Oh wait, that's the next update, right? Mine important positions on the map and be forced to sweep them before other ships can come through.
-

-
I fear exactly that. As far as I can see, you either need to complete all directive missions AND get within the best 25% in the Hall of fame to get Auboyneau (1610+300+300 tokens) or you need to buy premium containers. Having Le Terrible and/or Mogador is a rarity on the server and getting in the absolute top of the Hall of fame is pretty much impossible to do for most players (in principle) - and even that might not bring enough tokens for Auboyneau if you don't complete most/all of directive missions.
-
-
Umm, it is a time saver, even at just 3 containers. Either way, you want to open specific containers at specific times. No point sitting on french containers when they "might" give a mission for a ship. You need to open those asap or risk missing the timeframe. Now regular containers can sit for years, I used to pile up dozens and over a hundred myself. Either way, opening them in bulk is a great way of saving time.
-
I use the "open all containers" option almost every day. Even if i don't get all 3 daily containers, there's a bunch thrown your way for various missions, so there's almost always 3 or more waiting to be opened. I just wish the UI didn't freeze for half a minute opening the containers, would kinda make the option a bit more useful.
-
Sranda. A jaké ponaučení si z toho vezmeme, děti? No, přece vozíme antikomediantky, že ano.

So, I take it this is the Benham grind 2.0?! Once more, if I want to even have a chance at obtaining Auboyneau, I'll have to grind every day for the daily missions, is that it? And obviously complete all directives, and this time is it even all missions in the directives?! Am I wrong in thinking that some missions in directives will require particular French premiums or even Mogador that most players do not have (hells I haven't even received a mission for a single FR DD from about 30 containers now)? Thus making it impossible for most to complete all of the missions in the directives. Please tel me I am mistaken because this is even worse than the Benham grind for a worse reward. There's only one Hall of fame per stage. There's 4 directives making up that stage. Same as this current update. There used to be weekly Halls of fame back when one stage lasted a week and we had directives being unlocked every day (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday for the Cossack event in autumn).

Nah, in the second video, Chieftain just shrugs. There is no good reason to bring subs into the game rather than the potential to sell Premium subs. And in order to pull that off, they will have to bring them in random, which will inevitably screw the game up like the reworked CVs, if not more.

As far as I see, great many say (me included) that subs are fine in operations (and special modes and whatnot) but hells no in Randoms.

French Destroyers Event: the Full Guide
Toivia replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Well iirc even Flamu only got the T5 Jaguar from the 15 Premium containers he gets to showcase rewards. They cannot decide whether they want everybody (that tries, completes missions and gets containers - or buys containers) to get the ships in advance and thus skip the grinding of the new line, or rather infuse players into low and mid tiers instead of the overflow on high tiers and thus not give new tech tree ships in advance yet also losing money from selling contaiers. They just brilliantly put themselves in between a rock and a hard place for no good reason and they see no way to get out of it*. In fact they only dig deeper, offering the T9 Mogador this time for potentially ridiculous amounts of money. *I'm not sure there is any sensible way out of this mess anymore.
