The ranges listed afaik are stock ones. All of those ships have upgraded modules available for +10% range (but yes, the mid to high tier ranges were very limited). I thought italian cruisers had silly manoeuvrability for their speed, basically turning like small boats while as long as BBs. And the smoke seems to have been meant as a "get out of jail free" card in case of getting surprised. So imo, in combination with the short ranges and good speeds, they're meant to sail close (and now can punish DDs) and then get out in case anything larger appears. I won't comment on the Thunderer/Ohio changes until I know what kind of dispersion they're getting. Though the swithc of their parameters is very funny after we've been asking for weeks what the point of Thunderer was when Ohio did everything far better.

See here, but again, it's very early and I've seen some different stats on other sites already...
-
The currently known stats are worst on german subs with both US and USSR ones being larger, faster and with more torps... (I mean, there's dozens of stats that are unknown and that will make/break individual ships - so german subs *might* end up decent among all subs, but it's not starting well.)

Tak to se omlouvám, někde jsem zahlédl zjevně mylnou zmínku, že měl snad nastoupit už v pátek.

No, jen aby žabáka už něco nesezoblo v té Makedonii. Co já vím, jací agenti Velké Putinovy Sovětské říše, pardon, FSB, se tam potulují. A zatím nevím, zda dal najevo nějaké známky života po plánovaném příjezdu...

You're wrong. Potatoes in normal DDs and french DDs behave the same because potatoes don't stop in smokes or sit broadside on to torp threads in smoke. Ends up being the same experience for other players. When you introduce a new class with vastly different powers, that's the issue. Then again, me personaly, I've always been the type that is content with the "same old, same old" and no need for new "features" and btw also no powercreep that way.

Thing is, I usually like operations. When I jump into operations nowadays, the queue lasts 2-3 minutes, but when I get in a game, usually I get people that know what they are doing and the operation is more or less fun (same as later on with the Halloween sub event). But when you get people just trying it out, they ruin the operation for everybody. And if those people were present in a Random or Ranked battle, I'd be raging so hard... In PvE, whatever, you might just be trying it out, it might be your first game. But f you bring the ship in PvE, you are screwing my stats by playing like an idiot, I cannot stand that. And CVs as well as future subs will bring that in spades. When you join PvP, you should do your utmost to try and do well, not just potato around the map. We have enough of that already with lines of ships that date from the release of the game and start at T2-3. Whenever you release an entirely new class, you get an absurd amount of potatoes right in whatever more or less stable meta you might have. That's just sabotage of the game.

Ok, my bad, I thought "T6-" would be understandable as "T6 and lower", apparently I was wrong. Last I heard, Ark Royal and Leone were T6, Yahagi and Viribus Unitis were T5. -

I tried counting only ships that 1) aren't obviously part of a tech tree (Slava and/or Thunderer might become pretty much tech tree ships, but also might not); 2) are announced (with a picture, stats, ...); 3) aren't released yet. Off the top of my head: T10: Hayate, Ohio, Colbert, Smolensk, Puerto Rico, Marceau, Slava, Thunderer, Paolo Emilio, Somers T9: Siegfried, Friesland T8: Indomitable, Poltava T7: Yuudachi, California T6-: Leone, Viribus Unitis, Yahagi (another forgotten one), Ark Royal, Genova EDIT: Added those I had to look for in my archives in bold italic above. Becomes difficult to remember it all offhand. -

Well, assuming you're not memeing... Almost all focus is on high tiers, T9-10. Any semblance on competitive was always T8 or higher. With the advent of T9 Freemium ships and their subsequent sale directy in the premium shop, development focus shifted to producing loads of T9-T10 ships all but abandoning lower tiers (the only low tier premiums recently released - Hill and Siroco - were event rewards primarily nd others shelved for months on end - Leone, Viribus Unitis while Yuudachi is stuck in development hell). And sadly WG's efforts were not in vain. With every new silver line announcement, I unfortunately observe even CCs jump straight to high tier ships' stats and almost fully ignore low and mid tier. The result is a wicked circle of players more and more interested in high tiers and WG catering to them more and more by releasing more and more of those via new monetisation methods. -

As I pointed out in another thread a couple days back, there's currenty 10 T10 freemium/premium/special ships announced, 2 T9 and with Poltava 9 on T8 or lower that aren't released yet. In other words, just T10 ships outnumber all of T2-T8 premiums. Guess why people might not play lower and mid tiers without the NTC (and honestly, won't play those tiers even with NTC if FreeXP can be used). -
Well, the height of the main mast. Puerto Rico gets a massive one (EDIT: Oh, and the addition of another massive funnel over Alaska). Though I suppose the soviet schnoses should get some kind of concealment penalty by themselves. In other news, Puerto Rico's "decreased accuracy" seems to only be lowered sigma (2.05 ->1.9) compared to Alaska. Dispersion appears to be the same (aka large cruiser one). Ad funnily enough (not that it really matters), Puerto Rico has more secondaries having amost double the fire chance and firing a kilometer further and with a slightly faster muzzle velocity compared to Alaska. Another attempt at a brawler supercruiser after Siegfried failed so hard gloriously shined in its role of brawler and atomized BB after BB with its mighty secondaries, torps with amazing firing angles and guns without equal, DA, comrade.

Come on, comparing Eugen fame to California? Most people cannot even pronounce Prinz Eugen correctly (hell WG videos often screw it up as well). And one is a BB, guess which is far more popular then.
-
Anyway, this is all theorycrafting. In my mind, Cali looks fine. But who knows, perhaps the planned MM changes will mae her meet T9 more often, that could be a problem (same as for a number of T7 ships, really). And then there's another factor that can come into balancing as well: Is it a known ship that will sell no matter bad stats? I guess that could be a yes for California, so do not necessarily expect stellar performance out of her.
-
Yeah, I think Puerto Rico will get buffed. Then again, don't overlook the additional 16% hp over Alaska and the terrifying alpha on 12 305mm guns.
-
I'll never believe british BBs have same dispersion as germans and french. Those shells just never go to the target (another reason for HE). And even then, KGV still is among the best T7 BBs statwise, isn't it (after Sinop and Nelson)? Anyway, Arizona (1.8) feels accurate, so does Alsace and the T6 ships for me (those all have 1.5 sigma iirc). So no problems there. About not being able to overmatch 25mms, sure it's a disadvantage, but at T7 only against BBs. You still smoke any cruiser which the concealment only makes more juicy. Sure you'll have issues when uptiered, but that's nothing new really and US HE should be alright. Also don't forget to add 16% to the range of California right outta bat. No need for the AA upgrade and most likely neither the secondary one. With the spotter plane, it has way more range than needed, even given the shitty speed.

Oh, I don't think I ever switched to HE on the soviet BBs yet... Will have to see how good they are. -
1.7 sigma with 12 guns is typically pretty good. Good concealment and good AA are always nice. Frankly I take more less accurate guns over fewer more accurate guns anyday (even after nerfs, Alsace is awesome, Fuso and Izmail are monsters at T6 and I remember liking Amagi so much more than 8 or 9 gunned BBs.)
-
I mean, how many cruisers with 27mms are there at T8? 4? 380mm guns still overmatch the vast majority of cruisers, 356mm overmatch 1 or two, aka basically none. It's just a pain trying to use 356mm AP against T8. I remember that from when I tried to play KGV not as a braindead HE spammer (that attempt didn't last long).

Can a 16km range BB work with 9 14inch guns on T8? As much as I love seeing a non-OP soviet ship, that seems very underwhelming (also, nobody asked for it, but whatevs). -
Good points, although the problem I see with Poltava guns is no overmatch. Edinburgh is literally the only cruiser* at T8 that can be overmatched by 14inchers. *Actually, damn, is Bayard also overmatchable by 356mm?
-
Simple, pareil que le combat tres complexe CV contre CV.
-
Well I knew a super Alaska was coming and so far, at least it doesn't eclipse the Alaska in all things (looking at you, Yoshino and Azuma). I'm all against soviet bias, but, 9 14inch guns at Tier 8? And short range? I'm not sure what that Poltava can achieve at T8. EDIT: Also we are now at 10 announced Tier 10 premium/freemium/special ships already.
