  1. I'm truly perplexed. Even today, couldn't do any damage to airfields at all. I'll just leave it to others instead of continuing to waste my shells.
  2. This seems like the smart thing to do. Aki (and T9 and 10) become capable of damaging all DDs (umm, Khaba's belt...) and all superstructures. That's what IFHE was needed for. If people want IFHE, it will bring some benefits (cruiser extremities, mostly), but isn't necessary. variability in builds remains But those gunboats don't become the vaunted DPS monsters against BBs and cruisers some fear with 32 mm IFHE pen. Obviously, then Aki shouldn't need the nerfs they throw at her. At least not both maneuvrability AND concealment. EDIT: With IFHE, it would be 26mm (not 27.5), so will pen 25 mm armor on most high tier cruiser extremities. I'm grinding the Richi... Guess now I'm just looking forward to the République, as regular T9 ships can't be good. Well, that's been obvious for a while. I can only wish those RU server players start playing ... how do I say that, less differenty? More in accordance with ship capabilities? Overall, from all the changes so far, I only like the Emerald buffs (really freaking needed, worst ship in game in my opinion currently) and the Jean Bart change. I always saw it as another FreeXP/premium/arsenal/... T9 BB. Everything else is going from a slightly annoyed "meh" (Henri testing, Chapayev radar) to "WTF are you smoking again?!" (Emile Bertin changes) with Alsace somewhere between.
  3. Edin does work allright. It lacks range a bit (like Cleveland - along with some arcing to the shells), but has the radar/hydro combo that's pretty useful. Absence of Def AA can be problematic, but the maneuvrability will protect yourself from torps pretty well (and the superheal backs you up) while the base AA is good enough for some plane kills at least. As I pointed out somewhere upthread, I really think all usable cruisers are good in the op. Unless you took Kutuzovs and Charles Martels only and turned up without radar (stupid smoke Edin counts as well).
  4. Well, I'm happy to be proven wrong. Either average players don't play this op, or average players can't play it for lack of ships (that's unlikely though), or average potatoes can actually learn basic movements on a given map, or lastly - and most likely - enough decent players keep farming playing this op and carry it to 5 stars on a regular basis. However, I wanted to ask if anybody else finds it much harder lately getting the same juicy salvoes against the airfields. For some reason, I can no longer reliably hit them for 20k per salvo. Afaik I'm hitting the same spots, but now I get 0 DMG or 3k at best. Not that I need to do damage to those bases usually, but it's still annoying.
  5. The problem with the Aki changes is that while it gives considerable choice to the build one can use now, the nerfs kinda screw over people that liked Aki the way it was. That... doesn't seem to be a smart road to take.

    No, to vypadá na zajímavý zápas (a varuju Tě Sigi, République má vážně skvělá děla - i s Richim lze do naúhlovaného Kurfursta sázet salvy za 20k). Každopádně se taky musím pochlubit. Tohle je fakt "úspěch" posledního týdne: EDIT: Tak teď jsem našel ještě tohle pořízené přesně před týdnem, takže to už jsem rajče dva týdny v kuse.

    Haven't had one battle in T8 ships that wasn't T10. Richi for instance has awesome guns and is a great tank against AP when angled (which is easy to do, given the gun layout), but absolutely falls apart in the face of say Hindenburg, Zaos. Given the 15 inch guns, it already can't deal with the likes of Baltimore or Hipper at its own tier. And those T10 battles aren't just one or two T10 ships, they're usually the vast majority. Hell I've had battles where I was the only non T10 ship in them.

    What is the stupidest thing you did today?

    Again and again I keep fighting for caps. How is that stupid? Well, since everybody else is camping 10kms behind caps, I get focused and die in seconds. I wish I could just camp with everybody else, but I hate that tto much. Hell I usually don't have enough range to do anything at all, if I stayed with the rest of the team.

    Když budu vycházet z toho, že Eugen je Hipper před posledním buffem, ale s healem, a porovnám ho s ARP Takaem, které mám (což je de facto Atago bez kamufláže), přikláním se k větší použitelnosti pseudo-Ataga. Ono teda s neustálým házením do Tier 10 bitev Atago spíš utrpí, ale to původní DPM Hippera mi vážně zdaleka nestačilo.

    Jo, jak říká Bergi - to tu dřív možná ohledně kitování nezaznělo, pokud jsi 12km od tak nebezpečné a přesné bitevky jako Montana, rozhodně se snažit občas přestat střílet a zneviditelnit se (ideální pak i na puštění torpéd) a případně počkat, až nepřítel otočí věže jinam. Rozhodně kitování není sebespásné a pokud je člověk v Atagu sám proti dokonce několika BB, tak je pravděpodobně v pytli - tedy pokud ta BB nevletí právě do torpéd. Pak zaplavení může hrát ohromnou roli. A Bergi, s tím, že torpení není primární zbraň CA, souhlasím. Na druhou stranu, low HP Zao proti pár bitevkám? A právě tak i Ibuki, Mogami, Myoko, Atago, ... Ostatně i u CL Minotaurů už jsem viděl velmi úspěšné provedení této taktiky.
  11. Sadly Cleveland is among the ships I do not own. With Martel, Edinburgh and Chapayev, you need to be in very specific spots to lob shells over the mountains and be in range. But yes, I have started landing those 20k salvoes more reliably at last.
  12. Funny, I get the opposite, one by one they'll go charging the Myokos while shouting not to shoot the airfields. Then one by one they die and we lose the star for having 4 people survive. Frankly with pugs I advise for shelling the airfields the moment Atago and plane optionals are dealt with. Only when you have reliable people not prone to getting killed you can farm patiently.

    Playing another battle after the one I was supposed to get credit for seemed to work. Afaik I got all rewards I shoud have gotten.
  14. Wel it's starting already. Just had two divisioned guys rush nortwest while Zaos were still there, despite our repeated requests for them getting back.They died almost instantly and another two followed not much later... And obviously nobody used radar once on those shiny clevelands of theirs, despite me asking politely.

    Umm, "Kronstadt is a tanky ship, surely I don't need to waste Juliet Charie signals on her, also I'm running low on them." First battle I detonate to a Montana salvo while at 55k HP ...
  16. That is one thing I'm wondering about, because I think I've lost a star to a dead regiment after both Myokos were dead (to fire of a DD). And overall losing a regiment is the most common way to lose stars with randoms (along with more than 3 people dying to torps). But thanks for the info about DDs spawning with Aobas, will use radar on them assuming people are still too far from Myokos.

  19. Gotta say I already had attempts that were barely wins, as in, I was the only one alive at the end versus several bots still shooting me. Also about 4 games were 3 stars for me.

So I was paying attention to the damage done to airfields and somehow, HE fired from far away (further than 15 kms at least) and HE fired from very close range (below 5 kms, perhaps?) does way more damage than anything fired in between. With the Charles Martel, you do get 24k salvoes when very far away and very close, but typical ranges of 10-12kms yield only 11-12k salvoes. No idea how that is possible.

    Kronshtadt

    Tak jsem vlezl do randomu, absolutně nehratelný. Kronstadt je skvělá loď, když máte dostatečně schopný tým, ale sama nic nedokáže. Musíte mít aspoň někoho, proti komu se nepřítel bude úhlovat a ukáže vám bok. Randomy ale končí za 7 minut a za tu chvíli si nenastřílíte. Jediná bitva, co za něco stála, byla zaviněna dvěma stejně pitomými kempujícími týmy. Nikdo se prostě nehrnul na capy a tudíž nikdo rychle neumíral a všichni se jen tak z dálky ostřelovali. Na to Kronstatd stačí. Ale jakmile je dnes jeden tým lepší, tak je za pár minut hotovo a je jedno, na jaké straně jste. Pro mne zatím: prohry s 22k DMG (za 8 minut hotovo, všichni enemy přežili), 33k DMG (detonace s 55k HP), 33k DMG (devstrike od République za asi 45k HP); výhry s 47k DMG (nikdo od nás nezahynul, po 7 minutách hotovo) a konečně ta jedna pěkná bitva se 120k DMG.

    Hmm, Random je už úplně v pr.... Bitvy vzácně nad 10 minut. Půlka her končí s jedním týmem bez žádných ztrát, druhý tým pod vlnama. Samí AFK hráči. Ti, kteří se do hry dostanou, tak to otáčí už na spawnu. Většina bitev začíná se všemi capy zabíranými (a poté zabranými) jedním týmem. Bitevky to berou vždy jedním směrem a vždy od capů a středu mapy pryč. Pro křižníky nehratelné. T8 samozřejmě vždycky proti aspoň polovině týmu T10, taky v podstatě nehratelné. Vážně pro mne už jen coop.
  23. Damn, never managed that. This might be very stupid and I dont see how it could matter, but: Do you have IFHE on Martel? I hear a surprisingly large part of players use that on Fr CAs. Ah yes, I wondered about that when AP on either Chappy and Martel did nothing.
