    New to world of warships

I enjoyed the exchange at the beginning. "This game is too easy, it's getting boring!" "Try PvP!" "Oh damn, I'm getting my butt handed to me!" Don't worry about it, we all started as newcomers. I went straight to PvP after 3 PvE battles and my stats are still suffering from it 4 months later. Took me about 250 battles to realize I'm not supposed to hit the superstructure if I want to score citadel hits. I doubt you can screw up that badly. I can highly recommend the "Captain's Academy" videos from iChase mentioned earlier, particularly these ones: How to aim: Armor Angling: Citadel Hits: All the other stuff is worth watching, too.

BB a lot of [edited] plays these ships.

The Amagi is a solid tank as long as you are not showing your sides to the enemy. Only its citadel armor is lacking, which means you will receive a lot of citadel hits if you show your side, but apart from that it is just as tanky as the other BBs. General strategy is to stay at 15-18 KM (T6-T8) / 16-20 KM (T9/T10) at the beginning and let your accuracy+shell velocity do the talking. Once you have assessed the situation and determined that you can afford to start moving forward, you can engage tanking mode. You gotta be very careful about when to start your tanking, though. The Amagi has to show a lot of its side to fire all guns and as mentioned before doing that is very dangerous in the Amagi. If you start tanking in a situation where you are outnumbered and forced to play defensive, you will only be able to use your 2 front turrets unless you are willing to potentially receive a lot of damage.

    No more seal clubing

Not sure if that's a good idea since torpedo protection increases with each tier. An Umikaze torpedo should be dealing around 3,5K damage to a Montana/Yamato and while they may be spotted very late, the torpedoes are also pretty slow.

I would say 30%, but anything above 20% is fine. If it's below 20%, you are either sniping way too much or need to practice your aiming.

    No more seal clubing

Good point. At first I thought the adjusted matchmaking would be a good idea because I'm not a fan of sealclubbing. But if the matchmaking was changed as described, new players would be playing on easy mode until they reach T4, at which point they will hit a brick wall as they will fight against experienced players all of a sudden, just waiting for some fresh seals to club in their Imperator Nikolai/Kuma/Arkansas Beta/Hosho. (Lube not included) They probably won't have learned much by then if they only had to fight against other inexperienced players.

Considering his accuracy with BBs he is most likely exactly what he is complaining about and might just be trolling. Some of his hit rates: New Mexico: 12% Colorado: 14% North Carolina: 13% Tirpitz: 18% Iowa: 12% Sorry OP, but you are not really in a position to be complaining about other BB drivers, especially not the sniping variety. That aside, DangerCZE and albinbino are offering some important advice.

    Changes to BFT and AFT

I approve of the caliber reduction as long as the ranges of some cruisers are adjusted accordingly, just like it is planned for the Kutuzov. Some ships like the Yubari, Marblehead, Mogami are highly dependent on the extra range they gain by using AFT. They shouldn't have as much range as a 203mm cruiser, but at least more than they currently have without AFT. BFT I don't really care about. 10% fire rate are nice, but not necessary. My primary choice as the first captain skill is Situational Awareness for CAs/DDs anyway.

"OMG, go back to low tier pls" "Learn to play before buying Tirpitz" "Shoot HE all the time". "Stand near a teammate and press 3" "GG we lost" Hatte ich in dem oben erwähnten Match allerdings nicht gemacht.

    Help th3freakie set 300 fires

You still have a month left to complete the mission. I recommend to continue playing as usual. None of these options are particularly great for setting fires. If you still haven't set the fires required for the Myoko mission a week before it is due, you could re-buy the Cleveland.

    4 New Ships w/ Stats : Patch 0.5.2.3

Not sure Smith is the right choice then. If you are using single launchers precision and prediction are more important than ever because your torpedoes will be pinpoint-accurate. If you aim badly with a quadruple/quintuple launcher you may still hit because of the large torpedo spread, but using a single launcher that's not gonna happen. If you predict wrong, you are not going to hit. Sonic_157, on 31 January 2016 - 02:34 PM, said: Has anyone noticed that on the service record tab, there are now 20 levels instead of the usual 11 up to now. I think this was implemented on the last patch but no information was given either in the patch notes or in-game if you hover over them. So, does this mean new abilities/privileges will be added? More levels are definitely planned, but I do not know if 0.5.3 will implement them. It doesn't necessarily entail the introduction of new abilities or privileges. Last time the level was raised the rewards were simply spread out over 11 levels instead of 9. No new rewards or privileges were added.

    WoWs comparison Sheets

Thanks a lot for the list! That's a lot of info and it's well presented. It raises a lot of questions, though. First of all, how exactly does Krupp value work? I thought it represents the penetration power of a ship's shells, but according to the chart the Atlanta has a higher Krupp value than even the Yamato (2598 vs. 2574). Another part is the shell speed. The North Carolina AP only has 701 m/s, yet American destroyers got 792 m/s? What's up with that? Does the shell arc make such a big difference? BB shells feel way faster than DD shells. Some of the values in other categories seems to be mixed up. The Tashkent is listed with 14 AA DPS, a top speed of 31,9 knots and 39 sec reload torpedoes among other things.

"Side by Side" 2 vs 2 Tournament - are you up to the challenge?

Congratulations to the Pancerni Flowmasters then! Some of the teams are not listed in this thread. Are they from the Polish community? I'm curious which players those teams consist of. Who is the MVP? I personally didn't get to experience much of the tournament unfortunately since we went out very early, but I definitely enjoyed taking part in it and would undoubtedly sign up again. For this test the BO1 was a better decision, but I agree that all matches should at least be a BO3 in the future. Yeah, and ship selection should be determined before the lobby is created. The way it was done currently a team could send a single person into the lobby, see what the enemies are playing and adjust the second choice accordingly. Not sure if that is intended, but it seems a bit unfair to the team that hosts. Counting those Albany jokes wouldn't be fair, they are not part of the team name. Our team name was "Part-Time Submarines".

    So, where are the results?
  18. Premium Benson? No Bundle? I would love to buy this one, but I have spend more than enough on this game already.

    4 New Ships w/ Stats : Patch 0.5.2.3

The Smith looks really interesting. 3 single torpedo launchers with 11 seconds reload time and 54 knots is very unusual. It's a relatively high speed for T2 and I like the fact that it has single launchers. Means you can quickly adjust to course changes of the enemy and you are not going to miss any torpedoes due to spread. It's annoying if your torpedo aim is perfect with a Quadruple/Quintuple launcher but you still don't get more than 2/3 hits since they spread out too far. Won't ever happen with the Smith. If you fire a torpedo with the Smith and it misses, it will always be because the enemy changed its course or you aimed badly.

"Side by Side" 2 vs 2 Tournament - are you up to the challenge?

Obviously we were fully aware of this after our thorough analysis but we didn't want to go for the low-hanging fruit. But just in case our name is unexpectedly ineffective, here some alternatives which were prepared well in advance: The Albany Brothers Breakfast at Albany's 12 Angry Albanies The Lord of the Albanies: The Return of the AFT The Good, The Albany and the Chester Albany Wars: Episode V: The Matchmaking strikes back Saving Private Albany Albinator 2: Sealclubbing Day

Repair Cost and Smoke Duration charts

If you were driving a Gearing or Shimakaze, you would probably notice them very quickly, since their torpedoes cost 1200 credits apiece. Thankfully at least the Khabarovsk got access to low-budget torpedoes. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the only thing about them that's low-budget considering their turret destruction rate. Interestingly some ammunition costs vary greatly depending on the hull/torpedo variant. Fletcher A pays 150 credits for each torpedo and Fletcher B 700.

Tier X shimikaze what a joke!

I don't see anything wrong with that. It is easier to hit enemy ships with guns than torpedoes and the gunboat DDs aren't really Anti-DD, especially not the Russians with their bad concealment. They are more like Light Support Cruisers. And if you ask me RU DDs should have the highest average damage out of all DDs because they are the hardest to play. With a few exceptions you are forced to get spotted if you want to damage a ship as a RU DD and gotta deal with plenty of incoming enemy fire because you will usually be the ship closest to them. USN (T7+) and IJN DDs can just stealth-fire/stealth-torp all day as long as they don't run into an enemy USN/IJN DD. Considering most RU DD players are good, their average damage is a bit disappointing. Ever seen a bad Kiev player that mindlessly rushes at the start and dies without doing damage? I haven't. I see IJN DDs do that every now and then, though, which brings down their average damage. If the amount of Hatsu players was as low as the amount of Kiev players, you could probably expect another 4 or 5K average damage for the Hatsu.
