Saying "Der Bismarck" or "Das Tirpitz" if you are referring to the ships sounds very strange to a German like me. They are generally considered female in all cases simply because anything else doesn't sound right. Which article a noun is preceeded by depends primarily on its gender, which is partially random and is something you simply have to develop a feel for. Grammatical rules don't necessarily apply (or don't exist in the first place), which is why it can turn into a convoluted situation. Some words like "Schild" and "Nutella" possess more than one correct article just based on feel and can even change their meaning. "Der Schild" means "The Shield". "Das Schild" means "The Sign". "Nutella" in particular is a word that is discussed commonly in that regard as the word itself sounds very female due to the -ella ending, but as a company product it would deserve a neutral article. In the end all 3 forms, even the masculine one, are valid when referring to "Nutella" as there is no official rule, but you may receive some strange looks if you ask for "Der Nutella" at the Frühstückstisch.

Die Anime-Experten machen wohl gerade alle Urlaub. Ich bin leider mit meiner begrenzten Anime-Erfahrung ziemlich ratlos. Bei Internet-Star muss ich an Hatsune Miku denken, aber die wird es wohl nicht sein. Wüsste nicht, wen man sonst noch als Internet-Star bezeichnen könnte. Haruhi Suzumiya? Yuno Gasai? Asuna Yuuki? Taiga Aisaka? Oder meinste sie ist ein Internet-Star innerhalb der Serie? Gänsefüße erinnern mich an Princess Tutu, aber auch da habe ich meine Zweifel.

Ich muss Crooq_Lionfang zustimmen. Auch ich bin jemand der persönlich lieber ohne den Beschussalarm spielt, da es 2 Punkte brauch, die woanders dringender benötigt werden. Ich komme sehr gut ohne den Beschussalarm klar, da ich mir stetig die Geschützpositionen der gegnerischen Schiffe anschaue und jederzeit bedenke, in welchem Winkel ich zu den Gegnern in Reichweite stehe. Das alles kostet jedoch wertvolle Aufmerksamkeit und Zeit, die man auch woanders verwenden könnte, und ich sehe definitiv einen Nutzen darin auch für gute Spieler, diese Fähigkeit zu verwenden. Außerdem war es ein paar Mal so, dass ich nicht auf die gegnerischen Schlachtschiffe geachtet habe, da ich über 18 KM weg war und sie bessere Ziele besaßen, und ich dann plötzlich 15-25K Schaden kassiere in einem Kreuzer, weil sie trotzdem meinten, auf mich schießen zu müssen. In solchen Situationen wäre der Beschussalarm extrem nützlich.

Tarnung ist meiner Meinung nach ein Muss auf Kreuzern und Zerstörern. Die kostet zwar Credits, aber man darf auch nicht vergessen, dass man durch die Tarnung womöglich ein besseres Ergebnis erspielt als ohne. Die zahlt dann für sich selber. Gleiches gilt für Premiumgüter, insbesondere die Reparatur. Die 200-300 Meter können einen großen Unterschied machen, wenn man gerade am Wegrennen ist. Eventuell kassiert man dann eine Salve weniger. Sind auch sehr hilfreich, wenn man Zerstörer jagt und könnte den Unterschied dazwischen machen, ob der Zerstörer es schafft ungesehen davon zu kommen oder nicht. Ebenfalls exzellent um Basen einzunehmen. Ist mir schon mehrmals passiert, dass ich gerade so eben noch eine Basis einnehmen konnte, bevor auf mich gefeuert wurde, da ich die Tarnung verwende. Auf den hohen Stufen ist es auch als CV äußerst nützlich, da man dort eine riesige Entdeckungsreichweite hat und die Tarnung somit effektiver ist. Je später man dort gesehen wird, desto besser, damit man nicht so schnell vom anderen Träger oder Zerstörern entdeckt wird. Shimakazes versuchen einen manchmal auch mit ihren 20 KM Torpedos zu erwischen.

Met a ton of forum members recently while grinding the Mogami due to the coming changes. 1. Had the honor of meeting _x_Acheron_x_ on Trap. He was in an Amagi if I remember correctly. 2. Met WhiskeyWolf in his Ibuki on Northern Lights. He played very well. 3. Met absolute_justice in his Midway on Atlantic. Played very well, but his chat manners weren't exactly the best. 4. Met Babykim in a Mutsuki on Two Brothers. Despite being low-tier he managed to score above me on the team. 5. Met Sehales in a Lo Yang on Trap, but didn't notice until I checked the results screen. 6. Met ShockPirat in his Des Moines on Terra Del Fuego for my final Mogami match. Was a really close one. I probably met one or two more, but those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Had this very unfortunate round just now: 280 experience more than the best on the winning team, but alas it was not meant to be. On the other hand had this good T10 match: (Where I had the German community manager Sehales in his Lo Yang as an enemy as I just noticed)

Those are the craziest results from a Defeat I have seen yet. Could you upload the other battle results and the replay?

I just checked the MM table, you are correct. T4 and T5 CVs both only get matched against ships one tier above them at worst. That certainly helps the Langley since cruisers don't obtain AA Barrage until T6. (Except for the Yubari, I think). Omaha/Murmansk are nothing to laugh about either, but they aren't nearly as scary as a Cleveland.

Well, gameplay balance is definitely more important to me than historical accuracy. I doubt WOWS would be nearly as much fun as it is at the moment if it was historically accurate.

Ah, yes, those scary Mogamis, desperately in need of a nerf. Which ones, though? Maybe the Mogamis I like meeting in my Lexington because their AA is bad for a T8 cruiser? Or maybe the Mogamis I like meeting in my Amagi which try invisi-firing all the time and do practically no damage with their 155mm at that range? Or maybe the Mogamis I like meeting in my Amagi which try to get close and which I am happy to shoot at because from 15 KM downwards nearly every salvo against them contains at least one citadel hit? Or maybe the Mogamis I like meeting in my Tashkent because they have trouble hitting me at longer ranges and can't afford to get close without being blown to smithereens? Scary stuff for sure.

It's very unlikely to be anything bigger than the H-41 as in one of the past interviews a WG employee said nothing in the game will ever match the Yamato in terms of primary gun firepower. They will probably slap a Soviet flag on it and call it the new T10 Russian Premium CV for 100€ because they received top-secret documents from Putin personally about the Russian Habakkuk-class CVs they have worked on for the last 50 years in an underground wharf deep within Siberia.

I guess the low-tier CVs will be the new Midways. Maybe people were complaining to WG about how it takes too long to get to the Midway and WG thought "If they don't come to the Midway, the Midway will come to them!"

It's not as much of a buff as you might think. The new 1/1/1 layout will split up the reserves of the Langley, which has very few to begin with. Currently it has 1/1/0 with 9 fighters and 9 torpedo bombers in reserve if I remember correctly. After the patch it would have 1/1/1 with 4 fighters, 4 torpedo bombers and 4 dive bombers in reserve, which means you can run out of bombers very quickly, especially in a T6 battle.

Unfortunately I can't sell her yet. I'm still missing 80K experience for the Ibuki. If you had ever played the Myoko or Pre-Buff-Yorck, you would quickly find out how important a fast turret rotation is for a cruiser since they have to evade a lot more than a BB and turn faster. Even 30 seconds are already an issue. 50 seconds, though? That's a ton of missed DPS because you will spent half your time just waiting for the turrets to move into place. Most BBs have a better turret rotation than that. And in my opinion even now the Mogami is not overpowered because you lose at least 10000 HP every time a BB looks at you. Feels as if 90% of it consists of citadel and since most BB captains now that, you are often a prime target.

Maybe, but better to tempt fate than end up with names like Habakkuk.

Ha, reminds me of a New Mexico player who managed to only earn 197 experience even though he managed to survive the entire 20 minutes of a match.Checked his profile and he had the worst stats I have ever seen: The weird part is that he wasn't an AFK player, he was driving around all the time, just too far away from the action all the time.

I would say it is an even greater achievement for the Mikhail Kutuzov, which miraculously managed to earn less experience than you did despite not being AFK. Nevertheless, respect for dying that quickly without being detonated. I guess that is an achievement by itself. Wanted to upload a replay of me doing really badly in the Amagi to cheer you up, but sadly it's from an older patch and doesn't work anymore.

Considering the usual complaints from players I read on the forum about how their teams suck and they lose even if they are doing great, I guess some players thought to themselves "Even if I play great, I still lose. Winning or losing is mostly determined by chance." and gave up on actively trying to win the round for their team and would rather let chance decide and hope they get the better teams. Weird way of thinking, though. If their teams are losing despite putting up a great performance, they will lose even more without their contribution.
