    Warspite.. yes again.

Just goes to show how strong the Imperator Nikolai is considering it got by far the best statistical performance of all T4 BBs despite being the only one that can meet T6 ships. An honor to have my 1000th post dedicated to the Imperator, King of the Sealclubbers.

Has the Warspite been nerfed at some point?
  4. The worst ship currently available for purchase is the Atlanta. The worst premium ship overall is most likely the Mikasa. Not only is it very frustrating to play since hitting targets as small as T1 cruisers is very difficult with just 2x2 BB turrets, but even if you do get a good round in it, you still get barely any credits and experience since it is a T2 ship. Dee_82, on 25 February 2016 - 06:23 AM, said: Theres nothing wrong with the Atlanta, its a credit crunching machine, I routinely get about 400,000 credits with her. BUT you have to play her correctly, she's not a front line ship, follow some DDs and support them, keep back so they spot them before your spotted, another tip is go follow a heavy cruiser or battle ship, let them take the heat whilst you torch anyone who gets close. You got 20K average damage in the Atlanta. I have my doubts about you earning above 400K credits with her routinely. I agree that it's possible to have a good round in the Atlanta if you know how to play her and the enemies make mistakes, but even then you aren't going to accomplish anything you wouldn't be able to do in a regular cruiser at that tier except for plane kills. If you are playing a regular cruiser you don't even have to come up with special strategies to perform well.

Kinda scared to switch from Nagato to Amagi

Well, any T8 ship has to face T10 opponents every now and then, it's something you simply cannot avoid if you want to move up in tiers. You either accept that you will be meeting Shimakazes, Yamatos, etc. or you will have to stay at T7 or below. Just let me tell you that it's not like everyone is suddenly a pro in a T10 match. Plenty of bad players are around even at the high-tiers. It's not some kind of mythical land. Apart from more camping and more torpedoes it is not any different than the lower tiers. I can upload some Amagi replays if you want.

Some premium ships need some updrades

There are certainly premium ships in need of some love, but the Anshan and Mikhail Kutuzov are not among them. They are performing very well at their tier. The skill level of a typical Atago or Tirpitz player would suggest otherwise.

Da muss man genau wissen, was man macht.

    Whoah...Economy/advice

The Fuso is a decent moneymaker since it is a very strong ship, but I recommend choosing a cruiser if you want to farm credits. Cruisers generally earn more money per match since their priority is killing DDs and enemy cruisers, which earns you more money than attacking battleships. Cruisers are also more suited to capturing bases, which rewards a good amount of credits. In my opinion they also possess a higher credit multiplier than BBs, particularly the Cleveland. I've had quite a few matches in the Cleveland that rewarded me with over 400.000 credits, something that has never happened to me in a BB except for the Tirpitz (for which 400K is pretty normal). To top it all off their repair costs are lower and they don't rely as much on premium consumables. Yes, they do. Even T10 cruisers and destroyers got repair bills above 200K credits if they die. Obviously it's less of an issue for the Shimakaze because you can potentially not get spotted even once during a match, but the Shimakaze torpedoes are really expensive. A full salvo (3x5) costs you 18.000 credits. Here is a table of repair and ammunition costs: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/42888-repair-cost-and-smoke-duration-charts/

Is the Mogami just a big citadel or what?

Atago is the only cruiser with a healing ability that isn't T9 or T10.

    Bounty Hunter: OMNI Flavus

You can count yourself lucky that I got a Tachibana sitting in my port already, otherwise I would be demanding a 1vs7 at this point, OMNI. Keep up the good work. A great idea for a contest.

  17. Isn't it normal to have 14 skill points at T8? Both my Mogami (now Ibuki) and Amagi got a 14 skill point captain. Apart from 4 Tachibana games I never used them on a premium ship so its all natural XP from tier progression. Anyway, the best defense against CVs has always been maneuvering in time. Just relying on your AA is never a good idea considering the amount of planes high-tier CVs can send at you at once. Planes shot down from AA are just a bonus. I'm surprised you've had a negative experience using the Manual AA skill, though, since it offers 165 AA DPS extra on the NC (if you include the 10% targeting bonus). Maybe it's less noticable on the NC because it already got great AA without the skill? Or you possibly end up with about the same DPS as before because you have to manually target planes before your AA does anything, which, depending on how attentive you are, may mean your AA shoots a lot less often than in the past. I've heard good things from Tirpitz owners about the Manual AA skill. The Tirpitz gains most of its AA DPS from 85mm+ caliber guns now and supposedly can shoot down a lot more planes than before. With the Manual AA skill, it got 295 DPS at 4,5 KM (not including AFT and module, which would give it 6,4 KM range). In the past the Tirpitz had less than that even after the planes had entered its 2,1 KM AA circle, which contained most of its DPS back then. I selected the skill on my own Tirpitz, but I must admit I haven't used it yet since the patch came out. Nevertheless I agree that AFT is generally the better choice with a few exceptions. Thanks for your input.
  18. Manual AA Fire Control is useless on the Murmansk because it has no AA guns with caliber of 85mm or above. If you wanna boost the AA, use AFT. Superintendent I wouldn't recommend. Who needs an extra Sonar or Spotting Plane? Considering their cooldowns, you should be using the premium variant if you really wanna utilize them. Much more useful and easily affordable considering how much the Murmansk earns. Aside from that its a great selection of captain skills. That's pretty good for one ship. A single ship is not meant to be able to repel aircraft carriers. They prey on players that leave the rest of the group. Covering each others is easier than ever, though. Besides, Lexingtons usually do not have access to the T5 skill that gives them 7 instead of 6 dive bombers, especially since A) There is no premium CV which you can gather experience with B) All US premium ships are undeperforming C) By the time they got a 15-point CV captain they will have at least an Essex, which they will certainly prefer playing over a Lexington.

    Shimakaze Op

Who cares about average damage done? The problem isn't the amount of damage the Shimakaze is doing or the lack thereof, but how it is doing it and which influence even the missing torpedoes have. The huge torpedo barrages floating around force players to play defensively and lead to really stagnant gameplay, which makes the matches less fun. And this is ultimately why we all play this game isn't it? Having fun. The Shimakaze can do 90K average damage per game for all I care as long as it does it in a way that doesn't make the game less fun for everyone involved. Regardless of any damage statistics, does anybody here think the presence of Shimakazes in large numbers is a benefit to high-tier gameplay?

    The curse of IBUKI

Of course it is highly important which ships you do the damage to. Doing 47K to destroyers means you killed 3 enemy destroyers all by yourself.Doing 70K to BBs means you have taken off 75% of the health of a single BB (including heal). Now, which is more useful to the team?
Was würdest du denn als Pay2Win bezeichnen?

    The curse of IBUKI

Recently gotten the Ibuki myself but I've been doing fine with it so far. Got slightly less average damage than you (70K) but the winrate is at 63%. Only 16 games played, though. If you got 29% winrate despite 72K you are obviously getting very unlucky with your teams, but I have noticed that your winrate is in general a bit low despite your excellent average damage. Maybe you are playing too defensive and not taking enough influence on the battle, doing most of your damage by the time the match is already decided? You can get up to 4 heal charges on the Ibuki (Premium consumable + Superintendent) so you can actually take a decent amount of punishment. Don't be afraid to play a bit more aggressive than usual. If you do receive a lot of damage, you can disengage and heal up. Cruisers these days can repair 33% of the received citadel damage. I managed to survive 14 out of the 16 played matches in my Ibuki.
  24. Had an excellent match today in my Ibuki with ammattimmies on my team in an Atago. Was one of the closest matches I ever had and the second half of the match was excellently played by all involved. We had the bases A and B and managed to enter base C just as the enemy team had 988 points. Thankfully the team managed to kill the Khabarovsk on the base preventing us from capping and the Iowa nearby because otherwise we would have lost due to a Shimakaze taking back our base A shortly after. Didn't think we would still win that one. A single one of us dying would have lost us the game, but all 6 remaining players (+ one person AFK) managed not do die for 10 minutes.
  25. I recommend going for Demolition Expert or Survivability Expert at T4. I have used AFT on the Blyskawica in the past and I just ended up invisi-firing all game, which let me do a decent amount of damage without getting hit, but it was noticably less than I would get before I had AFT and needed to get closer to the ships. Not only did I have a lower hit rate, but fewer of my shells did damage, especially with AP. Furthermore I wasn't able to use my torpedoes at that range. In my opinion the best way to play torpedo-gunboats like the Blyskawica/Anshan/Gremy is to get close to the enemy, throw out your 8 KM torpedoes, then move to 10-12 KM and start shooting at stuff. Once your torpedoes are reloaded, get close and use your torpedoes once more. In essence you are constantly switching between the torpedo- and gunboat style. Obviously you will take more damage this way, but in my opinion it is better to do 50K damage and take 10K than doing 30K and receiving no damage, especially since the repair costs of the Blyskawica are by far the lowest on T7 with around 39K.
