Yep. Dont zoom all the way out, but enough to see the guns and you can lower them enough to hit the citadel. -
Speculation: Operation gives clues about CV rework?
ClappingLollies replied to Xevious_Red's topic in General Discussion
Yep. That is why CV's are flooding every server and are close to being the most played class in the game. Totally fine. -
More radars? Nerfed radars? L2P? Radar counters?
ClappingLollies replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
I don't think we disagree on much. Just a bit different point of view. When i'm talking about in-game tutorials I'm thinking of what i said in my forum thread about that a while ago. Basically either force everyone. Good, bad, new or old players to play through and interactive tutorial. Like many other games have. Or make it so there is a price for finishing it. Flags, camos, a few gold. Whatever. Just something that would make players actually go through it and pick up some things. I'm sure all of us would benefit from that greatly. -
More radars? Nerfed radars? L2P? Radar counters?
ClappingLollies replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
While i to some degree agree with you, the same thing happend when German BB's came out. After that 10 BB's pr game have been the standard for 2 years. Is it good or bad? Both good things and bad things came with it. Now radar is more common. Good or bad? We will see. Although this change is not good for the avg player like when German BB's came out. All those radars will show who can adapt and who can't. That is not necessarily a bad thing. Change can be good. Time will tell. TBH i am one of those that think OP ships like Missouri, Belfast and Kamikaze should be nerfed no matter what. Even if they are premium ships. The only thing that IMO would improve random games is in-game tutorials for all players. The lack of information on game mechanics and how they work, how armor works, how IFHE works on specific calibers, angeling, how concealment works and the list goes on and on. Give all players the information in-game. And i think only after that is in place, random games will improve slowly. No buff or nerf will ever do anything to better gameplay before that is out there in the client. We see it everyday. Players getting super salty just because they don't have the information. They think they know, when they really have no clue. Not many players are like us that read up on patch notes and the forums for information. -

More radars? Nerfed radars? L2P? Radar counters?
ClappingLollies replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
Why not? Those players are basing their "nerf suggestions" on a foundation of having zero knowledge of playing a specific class. Stealth firing was a L2P issue. But it worked out. Smoke firing was a L2P issue, and a pretty easy one for that matter. There was already multiple counters to smoke. Radar, shooting into said smoke and torps. What more do you need? All this is fine, but when you take away a counter like radar, like so many are suggesting these days, you will be right back to square one again. "Smoke is OP" There are no issues with radar in itself IMO (and i'm a DD player). The issue is the amount of radars and concealment lower than the radar range when you have a long duration radar. WG seems to put radar on everything these days, and i don't like that either. If WG starts to nerf radar many of those radar ships needs some serious buffs in other areas. WG don't know how to balance a ship, so they just put radar on it and its fine for release. That is how it seems like atleast. Basic knowledge is also an issue especially when it comes to many DD players.(Other classes aswell, but can't be asked to start on that now) Frankly they have little to no idea how to play the class. And when something counters them they get salty and go "nerf radar" or "radar is OP". Its not their fault. Its not like WG is very good at teaching basic game mechanics. So it turns into: no-one can teach me how to swim, so nerf water.... Instead of asking for nerfs and buffs here and there, i think we all should ask WG for proper IG tutorials. And if players still struggle, then we can start to discuss if something is overpowered or underpowered. Most of the time things in this game is a L2P issue. I have struggled with the same things many times and still do, but that does not mean a game mechanic is OP. It means i need to improve in areas that i'm lacking. -
More radars? Nerfed radars? L2P? Radar counters?
ClappingLollies replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
It is harder for beginners indeed, but... Some things are pretty basic. Seems like the people that complain the most about radar that ive seen IG is the not so bright players that push a cap, gets spotted by a radar ship and the instant reaction of the DD is to smoke up and try to hide in it instead of running. I see that everyday. Ofc after they die, they complain that radar is OP. Maybe it just is a L2P issue. -
Feedback concerning BB rng spread in the current "HE matters" meta
ClappingLollies replied to Bratwurst_Bob's topic in General Discussion
Its funny that players don't realize that. They take a bit of HE dmg and massive BB AP dmg, then goes on to blame the HE for being the big dmg dealer when in reality they got wrecked by AP. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
ClappingLollies replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yeah. The Cleveland radar is actually pretty nasty. And i was leaching your smoke, so thank you for that. Until next time mate. Nice seeing you. Edit: Also ur Missouri buddy did some nice work that match. Gave you both compliments -
I played against a Khaba that had the new legendary mod yesterday. God it was nasty. I was playing a BB, and it kept spamming me from 14km-14.5km a way. Good luck hitting a Khaba at that range. And the fires..... 2 opening shells that hit me put me on double fire. Repaired and 3 more. God bless Conqueror heal i guess. lel. I don't play Khaba alot anymore, but looks like she is doing more than fine these days.

Hard to Play with High Tier Destroyers!!!
ClappingLollies replied to MNR1978's topic in General Discussion
No-one is stopping them, but i'm very glad that there is a difference between the classes when it comes to skill. If every line was as dumb down to play as BB's this game would be horrible. WG have said them self that the skillgap on DD's is much higher than on most BB's and CA's. BB's are more "noob friendly". An entry lvl class if you will. Which is fine, but we sure as hell don't need every class to be like that. And who are you quoting with this? "only skilled players should play class x." I'm not saying only skilled players should be able to play one specific class , but i sure as hell think that the lesser skilled players shouldn't come up with "balancing" factors when they don't know how to play a class and say more gimmicks will fix a problem. Its like me saying i can't swim, so please nerf water. Like i said. There is a very simple fix for all this. BB AP on DD's have to be brought down to what it should be. That would increase DD's survivability and effectiveness. If/when this is fixed, DD's would be easier to play for all DD players and everyone is happy. And the best part is: NO GIMMICKS I'm sure you did good, and i'm not judging you. But gimmicks like jamming is not fixing anything. And keep in mind that 600 battles is not that much. When i started playing i played around 80 games in coop thinking i was good until i figured out that everyone i played against where bots. Play more. Research how to play around things like radar. Learn and adapt and you will do very good. -

ClappingLollies replied to MNR1978's topic in General Discussion
It is hard to play DD's at high tier indeed. Its not for potatoes. They should stick with BB's for now. However giving DD's more gimmicks like jamming is not a good idea. Radar is a thing you can learn to play around. The problem is not radar itself, its WG spamming ships with radar that is a problem. The amount of them. And you can still play around it if you learn how to. A bigger problem that has been lingering for a loooong time (And STILL NOT FIXED, WG) Is BB AP on DD's dealing massive DMG. Whenever i look at DMG report, its not DD's, Cruisers or CV's that are doing the bulk of DMG to my DD's... Its the fekking BB's that you are supposed to counter. They just need to fix that and the DD survivability would skyrocket and radar would be less of an issue. -

Nice to meet you buddy. Those are the teams i'm usually getting aswell. (was lucky with that one). And Bismarck is not even a little fun to play anymore IMO. Always against T10's and TBH i don't think it performs well at all. I mean, even T10 cruisers basically wreck you. And as you noticed ppl love to shoot Bismarcks aswell. But that is T8 for you these days. Anyways. GG. Until next time. o7 -
I think the Belfast needs a buff. On a more serious note though. I think most T8 cruisers needs some love. Like a shitty heal.

What is the stupidest thing you did today?
ClappingLollies replied to piritskenyer's topic in General Discussion
The stupidest thing ive done today was trying to support our Gearing when i was in my Missouri. The idiot went into cap, smoked and got torped. Only to then go on in chat that it was my fault. He died 3 minutes into the game and i could not even get there fast enough to help him with radar. We somehow managed to pull off the victory, but damn that was the last random DD player i'm ever supporting. -
World of "Every island has an HE spammer behind it."
ClappingLollies replied to AngreyNoob's topic in General Discussion
The Baltimore and NO when i played them was infact even weaker than they where before they got moved to T8/T7. And now they are even better. I was stupid and grinded USN cruiser as one of my first lines. So i would not be shocked if you did better than me there. I did not island camp with them then either. That is some of the lessons you get with playing those ships. They are just meh in open waters, but very strong when using cover in the correct places. Which i think WG should redo entirely. The playstyle is boring to me. Funny at first, but it gets old really quickly. I hate playing DM in CW for that reason. You sit behind an island somewhere as a radar bot slinging shells that take ages to get to the target. If you go into the open, you are dead. Simple as that. The only fun you can have is lategame when the enemy makes a desperate last push and you can sling that amazing American Piercing at them.
