A T10 ship obviously, why do you ask? Now more serious, 4 ships like that where used for april fools I think last year. On a map that was a bathtub.

How is your S.DRAGON mission going?
Shirakami_Kon replied to Capt_Wet_Pants's topic in General Discussion
No idea. My guess it's that it's going to be like another ARP ship, unknown nation, so you can't use it to train captains for anything other than that Myoko and no other special bonus, just a plain Myoko with dragons all over it. -
How is your S.DRAGON mission going?
Shirakami_Kon replied to Capt_Wet_Pants's topic in General Discussion
Pretty well with the German part of the marathon, almost done even if I'm not going to complete the whole set of missions. I really dislike Russian ships, not that they are that bad, but I simply don't like the amount of just designs those lines have so I won't bother with playing those ships. The few dragon flags are nice though, so no complain there. Also what's the point in ANOTHER Myoko? Come on WG, Myoko is a good ship but man, we had 4 different ones already with the ARP events with missions I don't even remember how many times and you just slap us in the face again with yet another reskin? I mean, it's a free ship and I shouldn't be complaining for that but if you like all that reskin stuff there are tons of other ships and you could add variety which would make it more fun to collect those ships and a lot more interesting to keep interest in those missions instead of just spamming the same ship over and over again until we puke them or something. -
Oh, stop it. The amount of times I've been reported by DD players because I was obviously hacking when I get caught off guard and I stopped my BB from a straight line when I noticed the torps by Vigilance with the sudden full reverse + turn into the torps hax... I bet the Izyaslav that I remember that I dodged his torps launched at 2'1 km from my Kongo and all of them passed in front of my ship without any hit still hates me, even if it's 3 or 4 months ago.
-
Well, here we agree 100% then. Quite similar to my way to play even if I don't care that much to be compared to bad BB players as everyone expects by now. Everytime I met decent players of other players that noticed my support and "I earned" theirs is what resulted most of my best battles in this game.

You don't need Direction Center for Catapult Aircraft if you are going to camp, you aren't going to be using fighter, you'll use the spotter plane, and that works with just one plane. You don't need the extra plane either to spot torps, you'll be so far away to be even in torp range of anything unless you're the last one in battle in which case you won't even need to spot more torps anyways, it's all fault of the noobs you'll get in your team at that point. Take incoming fire alert instead if you can be bothered to press A or D if you see the warning to dodge some shells coming your way, and since you're going to be at the border of the map that should warn you of 90%+ of those shells. High Alert as the second skill. You'll want to extinguish fires as soon as they start so you want to have the repair available again as quick as possible. SI in the third row, +1 heal and spotter plane. FP in the forth row to stack all the bonus you can against the damn fires. Then pick Basics of survivability, again against fires. CE, you'll be at great ranges, and with your reload you can disappear even with a BB right after your shells hit the enemy and they notice you so they won't shoot you back in the unfortunate case you're still in their range. With the last 2 points for the 19 get Jack of all trades to further reduce the cooldown of your repairs and a bit the one of your heal and spotter plane too. With that you'll get the most use of skills for what you'll really care and need to be able to be sniping through the whole map. However you can work without all of that if you don't want to waste all that time grinding for such captain, you can do the same without skills, but well, you can consider that build if you want to do some "sealclubbing sniping".

You're not even getting the point. No one is showing off about damage done or anything similar, even a DD of tiers below your leander can manage even more damage as the one you said you did. However look at things like damage taken, the fact that the ship survived the battle and things like potential damage and torpedos spotted and the ones that actally managed to hit, which can be done again by any BB player with a brain and think is you could do that with other class of ship and if BB are "prey" in the (I agree that rare) case that they are in good hands. Returning to topic as said earlier BBs need support the other classes regardless to do things like that, but the detailed report I showed (the main point of my previous post, not the stupid damage, only thing that 90% of people looks at it seems) also shows that even if BBs need said support of everyone else they really are a bit above other classes overall wich I agree it's not that good in a game that can't really count on teamplay.

Yes. That's another huge problem IMO. I liked cruisers a lot when I started to play the game... Until I noticed that except efectively hunting down DDs and details like max speed and things like that there was not a huge difference. And then the German BBs came in. And more specificly Scharnhorst. It's not like that BB it's better than T7, T8 and even most T9 cruisers in their own cruiser role or anything. The only thing I can think in favor of those cruisers are consumables like hidro, radar, AA defensive fire and such, but other than that... And that's a huge mistake for cruisers.
-
Even if it's my main class I agree with that. And that's actually why the amount of BBs per battle started to be a problem some time ago and why it's the most played class.
-
I'm not impressed by either the Q&A or your awesome topic.
-
Hm. I like and understand your explanation as a main BB player and aparently one of the minority that tends to do such a thing as push for the team. I'd like to remark what you said that BBs can't do that alone as you said, we need the support of the rest of the ship classes, a BB alone it's a dead ship, like any class of ship alone (maybe BBs are still potentially the slowest ones to die even alone, but yeah). However I also understand a bit players that focus on other classes. I agree that BBs are around what the rest of the game spins around, but I also understand those who don't think so (especially when you see that a vast number of BB players just use the key elements of a BB to live as long as possible at a (way) safe distance and the last thing they show is that, why this game it's designed around the BBs). That's obviously frustrating for players of other classes. And also, even if it's kind of true when you manage to get a few decent BB players it's logic that a lot of players of other classes don't like to think of themselves as just tools to help those good BBs and they are nothing else than that. I like BBs for this case in particular, but if I happened to be more confortable in cruisers I woudn't like to be considered as just "something that helps BBs". The problem here for me is that the main roles of other classes doesn't look to have such an impact or importance compared to the one that BBs have. Except DDs in my oppinion, those are the ones that for me have an equal, maybe bigger influence in battle than BBs. NO one can argue that the ability to cap areas and all the scout and area denial that DDs can do is one of the most vital aspects of the game. But yeah, overall I liked your post and it's nice to have people making posts like this to vew things from different perspectives from time to time. +1

RPF / RDF / RADIO LOCATION: The Ultimate Petition To The Devs
Shirakami_Kon replied to t3h3th32's topic in General Discussion
I'm one of the ones that think that they don't give a f*** about what we say no matter how much we complain, but well, I'd like to see it removed since this game doesn't need this "skill" so yeah. Signed, why not. -
I've found some use of the located warning RL gives when playing with BBs. I just play without RL with the caution about DDs as before and when the "Located" indicator pops up it inmediately tells you when you need to be really careful, you don't even need to know where the DD actually is, it's just a free indicator of "danger zone" so DDs or cruisers that use that are actually telegraphing they are closing in to ambush you.

Also in the same menu where you redistribute the points it says that. *In small letters, just like with any contract.

The relentless drive to try to make us play high tiers continues
Shirakami_Kon replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
Good luck with that. I play tier 8+ a bit (namely Tirpitz and Yamato a bit lately, I have Mogami too but I can't keep up with that) but I don't play it "that much", I didn't even get ARP Takao because I can't force myself to play that much those tiers, I play tier 7 quite a lot though, but that's where most of the fun of this game ends. They can put all the tier 8+ missions they want but they won't be forcing players to play those tiers more than each player wants to. -
I see. Thanks for the answer. Quite nice then, I'll finally have some use for 3 million XP.
-
Interesting, so elite ships work too or just the T10 ones?
-
Yes. They also said something about 19 point captains also being able to use the XP of premium ships as commander XP or something like that, but as said earlier not sure about that since I can't try it myself.
-
About to get a 19 point captain myself, but I don't have one, so don't quote me on this, but as far as I understand when you have a 19 point captain, the XP that captain get if you keep playing with that captain turns into Elite XP that you can use to get extra points for other captains when you have the XP the other captains need for said extra points.

About 'Preventive Maintenance'
Shirakami_Kon replied to General_Montana's topic in General Discussion
I'm pretty sure they are considered modules, so I'd say yes, it does. I wonder how that works with those stupid 0 damage pens though, It's suposed that those happen for hiting a module and destroying it, which results as the ship itself not taking damage somehow. I wonder if even if you preserve secondary guns and such maybe Preventive Maintenance has the double edged effect that since you are less likely to lose modules you take the damage instead. -

That skill that shows how many ships are aiming at you... God, how I "hate" that one. I don't argue it's usefullness to know things like when it's a good time to try to turn and show broadside to the minimun ships possible but I prefer not to know how much people is trying to kill me. My stress goes through the roof, I used a retraining just to remove that skill from my captain. Never again. I can be in situations where my side gets demolished and have to angle and tank 5 or 6 ships with my BBs and I've never got any problems with that, but this morning using that skill made me stess and try to turn and run away while being severely damaged in the process. It only works to increase the chances of being intimidated for me. I guess I was baited by that skill. -
I have a spare 10 point captain so I tried that on Scharnhorst and Tirpitz to see if it's that good as they say. After a few battles maybe it's my luck, but for me it looks like a joke for BBs. Not worth it. Scharnhorst HE penned more against angled BBs, but... I don't really think that 4 points it's worth only for that. I shot HE at an angled Izumo with Tirpitz, shells were still blocked (I think I hit the turrets though) so it doesn't look that good for BBs. You also have HE loaded when a cruiser shows broadside and miss so much opportunities.

No one is close enough for secondaries anymore plus a DD ambushed me because I tried not to be an a****le and use RL. Unbelievable. Maybe I should change AFT, CE and Manual secondaries to AFT, Manual AA to make the carriers that still dare to show up life still miserable and RL and forget that such a thing as close battles existed.
