New trend: DDs now camping behind the BBs
Shirakami_Kon replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in General Discussion
I don't know how DDs behave in this patch since I logged in today to take a look at the new French cruisers, saw the Russianbias captain, got triggered and logged out again. I even forgot to check the new cruisers. But yeah, I remember seeing DDs behind all the team when RPF came out and they got the icon that they were detected by that. It wouldn't surprise me if they're behind the rest of the team too every now and then. -
The captain of that thing triggered me.

Should divs be banned/removed from Random?
Shirakami_Kon replied to rising_uk's topic in General Discussion
Yes, divisions are fine. However there's something I don't like about the use that divisions may get and that's with clans. I've seen some topics about that here in the forums and I've seen a few youtube videos showing some clans queueing for battle at the same time through teamspeak. Well, that's still questionably acceptable. However in one of them I saw something that really annoyed me. Those clan members were at least fighting each other instead of just farming everyone else but they told the ones on the other team when there were torps heading towards them. That's simply unacceptable and it shouldn't be allowed by any means. There should be a way with which MM could track clan names and never allow divisions of the same clan in the same match. Maybe a bit extreme and I'm not saying every single clan does things like that but it should be a way to prevent it. Just in case. -
I got this offers a few times. Every time I got them was after buying doubloons, and always after the next few games after them being added to the game. Coincidence?

Has Wargaming lost control or interest? (arguments by developers)
Shirakami_Kon replied to Bersigil's topic in General Discussion
What makes a BB player waiting to play more special than a CV one? Did they not cap CVs because of that? No. There would be even more CV players if they were better than now even with the long queue times they have. And you think BBs will stop playing because of that with how popular they are? Please... -

Meh, maybe it works for you if you haven't play that much BBs. I started playing cruisers at first but as I played them more I started to notice more and more their weakness to BBs. All of that while BB population started growing and growing, which didn't help either and I did that. Some kind of "If you can't do anything against them join them" and I started playing BBs. In the end BBs suited me and I like playing them, I also started looking here in the forums and bit by bit I learned to angle and how to push close with BBs without yoloing or sniping either, but... even as a main BB player right now the game is boring for me too. I was HE spammed at first, invisifired, catched off guard by torps like the braindead we all are at first... but at least there were things to learn. I learned to manage fires, I learned to not sail in a straight line, I learned to stay close to some ships in case someone started invisifiring me but how things are now for what? IJN torps are the most dangerous ones but they are spotted from the moon so even if you sail in straight lines you have enough time to react where you should be heavily punished, there's not that much cruisers to HE spam you if you know how to manage fires, and DDs have to deal with radars, hidros and being spotted by any ship to get close to you, add planes the rare ocassion that you get a CV. Playing BBs it's so safe right now that's boring as f***. I haven't touched the game in weeks. Last thing I did was buying a Mutsu with which I had a bit of fun playing a few games in because it was my new shiny ship, but now it's another BB in my port and that's not enough to keep me playing. -

Shirakami_Kon replied to Bersigil's topic in General Discussion
The problem with that is that the AI from co-op it's... well, you could expect more. When I started playing I played A LOT of co-op (enough to grind IJN cruisers to Mogami just by playing co-op) and then moved to randoms. At first I thought random players were worse than bots (I never got that many broadsides to shoot at at first) but in the end, except for that bots tend to avoid showing broadside by any means, bots mixed with players would end in probably bots being sunk in the first minutes (since they also just yolo rushing the enemy) which will quickly remove the few cruisers they bring in and the rest of the battle would be the same as always but with the team that got more bots with less ships. -

I see your point, but IMO, as you say we need more cruisers than BBs so cruisers are played more, and new cruisers are always a welcomed addition, but... the fact that there's more cruisers on the way does not solve the problem that we need more cruisers than BBs "in battle". As you see already BBs are popular ships, people want to play them because of that, and there's people that will obviously play cruisers whenever a new line comes out, but BBs are so poular anyways that nothing will ever stop BBs having a rather big population regardless. That leads to the problem that new cruiser lines don't reduce the BB population in battles. Look at RN cruisers for example, sure, you could see huge swarms of them the first weeks in low tiers, but in mid and high tiers? Did you notice any change? At least I didn't. So I agree that what we need is a BB cap in battles. And yes, we'll probably have longer queue times, but it's necessary. They did that for CVs anyways and the people that want to play that waits the whole 5 minutes if needed. But WG don't want that because there's less people playing other classes so it won't just affect BB players. But there's one thing that WG has to see. Longer queue times might be a little boring. But WG, do you want to make players wait just a little longer for a battle or do you want to keep ruining the game the way things are going now if you don't do it? As I see it that's one thing WG should think about. -
So that will save a weekly mission just by a code of a few letters and numbers?

Concealment System + 5% to the maximum dispersion + CA accuracy
Shirakami_Kon replied to SinkTheOthersNotMe's topic in Archive
Meh... Maybe. For me it's been a long time since I stopped enjoying cruisers because of BB infestation and joined the horde and that happens often enough that I got used to it and I see it as part of being a BB, let's say "something to expect". The game is already enough RNG heavy that I'm not even mad when that happens anymore. Maybe that will heavily screw us, but well, I'll wait to see how it goes if I manage to play a bit. Even after all this grand changes I haven't actually managed to be in the mood to play this entire patch. I'm interested in this 0.6.3 to see what the detection penalties when firing affects the game but for me things are quite bad already anyways. -

Shirakami_Kon replied to SinkTheOthersNotMe's topic in Archive
Yes, I use it too on any BB T8 and above, even before of this bonus +5% extra dispersion to whoever dares to shoot at "muh mighty BB", but you said that this change nerf BBs. I just don't see why. Oh, you mean BBs hitchance reduced... Well, I should have thought of that, right... Yes, maybe that's it. That BBs sniping from spawn of the border of the map will become even more useless than before. Yeah, it's nice, but as someone apparently rare that tends to stay at 15 km or less from a fight whenever I'm able to I don't think that's a big change in that aspect. Probably some shells less per battle, but that's it. It's not any kind of nerf for any BB playing properly. It's nice for campers though, I agree with that. -
I can only say one thing. 155 mm Mogami cried reading this.

Shirakami_Kon replied to SinkTheOthersNotMe's topic in Archive
How exactly? I see it as a buff for any T8 and above ship (BB or not) that uses that mod that kind of counters a buff that only get cruisers of T9 and 10 only. I can't imagine any way of this nerfing BBs. -
should torpedoes get buffed for Destoryersin this patch
Shirakami_Kon replied to Reisen__'s topic in General Discussion
Don't worry, the concealment mod gets buffed with +5% dispersion for the one shooting at you, so there rare BB that's not happy enough with Vigilance and for some reason keeps using the acquisition mod will now use the concealment one too. -

Buff what? You mean those things that may hurt BBs? And you're still asking? -

Thanks. Anyways, this reminded me... So they're buffing the concealment mod, huh? Thank god they said they'll try to make sure that the different upgrades have something to go for all of them so we'll have more choices and there would be more different sets in modules and skills. Not like the concealment mod is used 100% over the aquisition one already that it needed a buff (not that I'm complaining I love how good that upgrade will be, but it's hilarious if you think of that). -

Well, yeah, Bismarck wasn't, right. Bismarck was intended to raid convoys with supplies and other close fights. But aside of that mistake you get the idea. As the video points out, most of high tier BBs side armor works well with plunging fire that hits the side. If it hit the deck than that's work of how much deck armor or what hits that (good luck with plunging fire of a Yamato most of the time regardless), and that's the problem the video shows. WOWS has real shell speed and real arcs and gun elevation for the distance ships get to shoot, that's why ships like Alabama and Iowa and Missouri suffer that much for that raised citadel, they have that with good armor... that was intended to protect the citadel against plunging fire, not "close fights" at 15 km or less like we have ingame, that's why with those ships that armor does barely nothing and you just get wrecked if you show side in those ships. As for OP points out with Yamato with plunging fire... Close fights of sniping with plunging fire, it's always the same, "it's the Yamato", no surprise there, the problem is that, it's very hard to actually hit something at that range and he just got lucky to hit for a not surprising citadel and came here to post that and... well... he got the reaccion anyone would expect (except maybe him it seems).
-
As much as people don't like it and I agree it's bad for the rest of the players in your team thing is that Yamato (and many other BBs, like Iowa, Bismarck, NC and such) where designed to fight at those ranges so it's not a surprise at all that Yamato does well at that range provided you manage to hit something. iChase lately made a video since we know that Iowa, Montana and Alabama will have their citadels lowered that explains why those raised citadels work so bad ingame and on the other side could explain why Yamato citadeling BBs at 30 know also works.
-
Since I focused in playing BBs being uptiered is not the end of the world, but seeing how life is for tier 5, 6, or 8 cruisers lately that doesn't exactly encourage me to leave BBs and play cruisers more as I did when I started playing the game (hint hint). I don't think that's the problem though, because at first the game was +2/-2 MM for everyone and it was fine. Even before I started playing it was +3/-3, so problem is not MM but something else.
-
Heh. When I was playing König I did and overpen, a bounce and a citadel on an Aoba at the same time.

Alabama Pre Release Buff, thoughts?
Shirakami_Kon replied to RUSSIANBlAS's topic in General Discussion
Quite a shorter range of secondaries than Bismarck and no hidro. Bismarck - Tirpitz it's basically a choice of long range secondaries and hidro or torps respectively. -
Alabama Pre Release Buff, thoughts?
Shirakami_Kon replied to RUSSIANBlAS's topic in General Discussion
I heard rumors about lowering Iowa and Montana citadels below waterline too. I think if the same thing aplies to the tech tree ships as well it's fine. Since they do it for the Alabama I think they're going to do it for those silver ships too, but hey, it's WG, you never know what they're thinking about and if it's logical. -
It's a BB. And Russian on top of that. Of course it gets "buffed". Just be grateful that it doesn't get a range buff too and a -2/+0 MM so it doesn't even face T5s.

Voted that I'm a BB played because let's be honest... It's the class I end up playing more, who knows why... I don't agree with that I don't care that much though, I mean... I'm kind of a casual player, I mostly play BBs since it's the easiest ship class to play (or at least it is for me) and since I mostly "play for fun" well, yeah... it's the most rewarding/less frustrating ship class to play for me. But. I enjoyed the little challenge that was left in the game for a BB (not counting another BB, that is) and I didn't mind stealth fire that much TBH. Even if it was from inside the smoke I was lucky enough to delete the DD/cruiser inside the smoke if it was dumb enough to completely stop inside the smoke thinking it was safe (mistake that I see A LOT too and I don't know what's so difficult to understand about sailing a bit inside the smoke instead of being a sitting duck, the dispersion because a ship can lock you inside a smoke isn't a lifesaver if you stop there). There are extremely few ocassions where a cruiser is able to stealth fire you for a long time long enough to actually kill you as a BB if you're not dumb to sail far from the rest of your team so someone can spot the cruiser or come across someone else to worry about. And DDs stealth firing, what's the worse that can happen? It's sets you on fire? Well, you're a BB, you can heal up that, just don't waste the repair on the firs fire and that's it. If a "so OP" DD kills you by just shooting you with a decent HP pool as a BB most of the time it's because bad repair and heal management by the BB player and like the cruisers earlier you were far from your team for someone tohelp you with that. But who cares, obviously BB players are never wrong and DDs with main guns smaller than half the secondaries on high tier BBs are unbelieavable devastating and completely unmanageable. So ok, go ahead and nerf stealth fire. Like if anything we said will matter.
