I used to be an enthusiast like you. But then I took a radar to the knee.

IMO people confuse a lot the concepts forgiving and easy to play a lot and think it's all the same with BBs. Which it's not. BBs are quite forgiving with huge HP pools and good armor most of the time (with exceptions like Dunkerque, but they're quite rare). But BBs aren't as easy to play as people say. You can have the braindead BB that gets HE spammed to death within two minutes because it has no idea whatsoever on how to alternate damage control and repair party and you can have the BB that you set on fire, looks like it's burning down but makes you waste those annoying five + minutes that annoy everyone to get a BB down if you even accomplish that and the BB still survives with Fireproof and Dreadnough. Same goes with the guy that knows the wonders of angling and even knows the difference between angling and being bow on (which again a lot of people thinks it the same thing and works the same which, surprise surprise... it's not like that) and the potato that broadsides all day long and gets deleted by two salvos of another BB and that's it. And that's pretty much IMO why the massively played BB class with "how easy to play" they are is the most focused by complaints about BB players being bad despite "everyone being able to play BBs well because they are so easy to play". Other than that... I also play cruisers and everytime I play one I get depressed by how RNG based BBs are. You can know how to aim in a BB and get pretty good shots that the result of that will still be in the hands of RNG, the only skill you as a player can bring to BBs is that if you aim well you get to score more hits which result in more dices to get damage. Which leads to the most frustrating things about BBs for me. You can make a perfect shot to the citadel of something and you get overpens. There you wasted 30 seconds just by that. And then next time you fire again, miss but a stray shell decides to to it's own thing and there, you get a citadel. And everyone else only see when you get the massive citadel damage and delete something, then BBs are so OP, and blah blah. No one sees when you're playing a BB, have a f***ing Cleveland (for example, any CL specially works too) spamming you for five minutes for their "pitiful" (what? 1800-2500 damage depending on IFHE or not?) every 7-8 seconds and yeah, you eventually delete the cruiser but you're shooting back at him every 30 seconds for glorious 800-1000 damage overpens. Yeah, that doesn't balance BBs potencial, they're still OP as f**k. Machines of mass murder. Yeah. For me the problem is that, there's no medium term with BBs. RNG either says no and you do laughable damage that's worth nothing or Rng says yes and you delete something without any real way of influencing that yourself. But obviously people only see when the BB wrecks something. That or when you get the potato player that... well, does his thing.

I actually like the idea here. We'll have a flood of RN navy BBs, so we need more Bismarck (that's why the recent campaign) and Tirpitz to detonate and counter them since DDs won't be able to do it effectively because of radar. And by having new RN BBs and more KM BBs they also keep their promise you see if you google World of Warships that this is a game about battleships. It's all magnificently calculated.
-
How dare you laugh at that at the RN. Laugh while you can until it gets the Conqueror it deserves. And a Space Battleship Yamato with the accurate RN flag it should have as a premium. Let's see who laughs the last.

Smoke and radar meta - Yorck obsolete?
Shirakami_Kon replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
Any ship is playable, duh. You choose it, you click battle, there, playable. However it's true that a long time ago we had this simple and fun game about ships shooting each other and everyone was happy except the ones that were not, but those aren't happy now anyways because of the amount of deletions they recieve while broadside that are obviously impossible without those damn hacks. That was the time where a ship like the Yorck was fine, you had the guns, an AA def consumable, a kinda decorative hidro, but well, you didn't need anything else. Now that isn't nearly enough to even properly perform compared to more recent cruisers. Now if you're in a f****d up cruiser of that ancient era you face that. Everyone with smoke, radar or both as OP said and then there's you, with nothing in the middle of all that with the only thing you needed back then (shooting stuff) negated most of the time while constantly visible and fired at unless you embrace the new cruiser trend for "cruisers without anything useful" and you go park behind an island and watch the battle unfold from there, which is highly entertaining to be honest. -
The level of derailment of this topic. I thought we were talking about Kutuzov, russianbias and cyka blyat rush B but with a smoke things.

Make it real, WG. It's beautiful. -
Liked by rage1750. Love it. Thank god, because you did a pretty good job. Now chill a bit or something, this is not the end of the world nor are you the only one getting f***** from time to time.

Need more Tirpitzs and Bismarcks in matches

What. Ok then, I'm still so glad I retrained my 19 German captain to the full secondary build. I'm so gonna enjoy this nerf. -
What's your winning tactic in Ranked?
Shirakami_Kon replied to Mydgard's topic in General Discussion
Cyka blyat rush B of course. -
I want a "Faildivision" report since WG only works if stats say so, so we can report any of them we see and hopefully flood them with reports of that until they decide it's time to limit divisions to the same tier to get rid of all the faildivision reports again.
-
If you ask me, no. On a more unbiased response, depends on how you play. If you play solo like me it's a joke most of the time and again, no it's not. If you play in a division get a DD with you, by all means. Don't get it either if you hate catapults. From time to time you'll get a match in which you'll laugh so hard by how hilarious this thing is that may be worth all the bad battles you'll have in this thing. Also prepare to: - Get focused by everything the second you're spotted. - Get deleted. - Have the worse shell arcs in the game. - Give up on shooting anything once out your base 11'1 km range not classified as battleship the second you notice they know what the A and D keys do. - LOL at every enemy plane. - Other than that, enjoy.

What do the bots of the operations have against Dunkerque? Every time I use mine in an operation every available bot targets and shoot at the Dunkerque. At first I thought it was because I was playing aggresive and I was the closest target. But the second time I stayed behind everyone else and except the DDs that didn't have range to shoot at me every other bot was shooting over anyone else in my team just to shoot at my Dunkerque. And CV planes flied to me ignoring a DD shooting at them and 2 Cleveland, getting their squads shredded for that just to try to drop at my Dunquerke. It's even more fun when you just think it's your bad luck or something when you play another ship, have an ally playing a Dunkerque and see that he gets the same treatment by bots and the Dunkerque is again the first one dying. What kind of priority have you programmed in those bots to hate Dunkerques so much like they were the doom of the seas or something?

new and more light cruisers, please.

We already have two Atlantas in the game already. -
Don't know. Don't play ranked and save you all that anger? It's not like anyone is forcing you to play ranked if you don't like how the games are in that mode.

As I see it, from WGs point of view, a cruiser with access to smoke screen needed to be balanced with being "extra thin paper". And you know what BBs hate the most? Being spammed from inside a smoke. You know what BBs love? Shooting at cruisers. Every time you play a RN CL you accomplish both. I honestly can't say I'm surprised they focus them even more than a regular cruiser. Also, in good hands a RN cruiser it's a great help to the enemy team, you also don't want that, so even more focus. And then there's Minotaur and Belfast, they are in a league of their own about getting focused.

I don't understand what's the problem with that. I mean... look at Prinz Eugen. It's pretty much an Admiral Hipper with no difference, no special trait, no nothing, yet people who like the ship still got it. What's the difference with Tone? At least Tone it's different to the other IJN heavy cruisers, there's no cruiser in the line of which Tone would be a copy paste. And even if making the ship a half heavy cruiser, half CV it's not possible, there's lots of people that would buy it regarless. Me for example, that I don't know how to play CVs and for the few times I tried I don't even like it and won't even use Tone as a CV even if she was capable of doing so.

You can also go to upgrades and right click the upgraded hull even if you haven't unlock it to show the stats that change when you get it and you'll be able the changes to the rudder shift, HP pool and AA. Those are the main three things that usually improve when upgrading the hull. -
new and more light cruisers, please.
Shirakami_Kon replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
Maybe it's the fact that the Pensacola is stock, I think that pretty much all ships when you upgrade the hull the rudder shift time improves, a Pensacola with the upgraded hull will have better rudder shift time. -
new and more light cruisers, please.
Shirakami_Kon replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
Very good point I tend to forget. That the real complain it's the change of playstyle between light and heavy cruisers. And you kinda guessed it too. Before I even started with USN cruisers I played IJN ones, even then I didn't really haven't that much problem adapting to Furutaka, even when back then she only had the single mounted guns available, obviously I had a long time to adapt to the terrible turret traverse those had, but it's wasn't that awful for me. I reached Mogami and stoped there, because is why I started playing this game at first and by when I reached there I was very used to the heavy cruiser playstyle and I really enjoyed the 155 mm Mogami as a "light cruiser". And that's when I started the USN cruisers, without much problems, I even bought the Murmansk because I like the Omaha, but the problem with me somehow it's the Cleveland, I hate Cleveland with a passion. And I like the ship at the same time, because I know it's AA is awesome (or insane depending who you ask), I like how it's very tanky for a light cruiser and yeah, as pointed out earlier, losses a bit of maneurability compared to Omaha but used to heavy cruisers already that didn't bother me. What kills Cleveland for me it's the shell arcs, back then I started USN cruisers because I still heard how good it's was in beta before they nerfed the shell arcs but didn't notice that the nerf was applied before I reached Cleveland, so I was expecting a "tier 6 155 mm Mogami" but well... Mogami with the 155 mm and Cleveland act both as light cruisers but they're two whole different worlds. When I got through Cleveland though I got to Pensacola which returned me to the usual heavy cruiser style and that's why I like Pensacola way more than Cleveland. -
new and more light cruisers, please.
Shirakami_Kon replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I know USN has very good light cruiser to offer. On paper. Because what we would have in game with those is more Cleveland and Atlanta shell arcs, which I know it's just my opinion, but I utterly hate. I can't look forward to that, I wouldn't be interested in the slightest by that. People loves Cleveland and hates Pensacola, I'm still at Pensacola but I don't understand why people considere it a downgrade from Cleveland. I'll concede the AA, but Pensacola aside from that it's a very good improvement from Cleveland, the reload it's worse, but the fact that you can hit things it's a huge improvement. And yes, Pensacola is paper, but it's very maneurable, it's concealment has been buffed which quite helped the ship and if you complain about a cruiser being paper instead of maneuvering and dodging shells the problem it's not the cruiser, it's you not understanding how to play cruisers. -
new and more light cruisers, please.
Shirakami_Kon replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
What? More USN light cruisers? I understand the appeal of fast reloading guns and such, but USN ones? Why do you want more light cruisers shooting like mortars that even a heavy cruiser can manage to dodge all the time? Any other nation would provide better light cruisers.
