You know "taking one for the team" Mine is 3.8 milion damage from todays game with Izumo... Had half of their team (4 BBs, Benson, few cruisers joined later) on my back for 15 minutes... Actually survived it with dreadnought achievement...

last game in my Izumo, Nagato merily sailed behind the island 5 km in front of me, full broadside with my guns waiting for him. Tier 9 IJN battleship shooting at a full broadside tier 7 IJN battleship with a squishy armor from 5 km away. 4000 damage. Thank you, I'll show myself out

From what I know, its actually potential damage of all the things shot at your ship by enemy team.

exactly what I was doing. Trying to tank 6 ships bow on would be nothing short of a suicide.

now for the second part: well yes, you pretty much said that, because you know, HE spam cant win games, so get close and use AP and torps. and ofc you won't get witherer every game, you won't get citadel every game you play with BB, doesn't mean you should spam HE with BBs because of that. and playing carefully (staying away and spam HE) doesn't always mean to stay at 20km range and shoot. you can use terrain, bla bla bla, still stay hidden and shoot etc etc etc... and ofc russian AP works. NEWSFLASH: EVERY AP WORKS. yes, even the DD ones, does that mean you should rush a cruiser so you can citadel it with DD AP? ofc not... SHOULD you use AP on broadside target? why not lol... its a common knowledge... but RU cruisers ARE NOT BRAWLERS. they are not made to rush in and brawl, they are made to dictate their tempo of fight. hence that huge range and railguns (negated by huge citadels and garbage armor / turning radius) and yea, using smoke to run away is a bad usage of it, but once again, its a privilege only Kutuzov has, and no other RU cruiser does. You get yourself in a bad position with other RU cruisers, you are instantly deleted... end of story.

well, whoever designed RU cruisers, forgot to put armor on them. so even 2 tiers lower cruisers can hurt you a lot. thats why you have to play careful to make them work.

first of all, your Kutuzov is premium ship that is an OP tier 8 cruiser with an addition of smoke that can help you save yourself when things go wrong. A thing that no other RU cruiser has. Also, it has best manevuarability out of all t7-t9 RU cruisers. Also, since I played USN cruisers, and I've got to t10 with them, I've always loved Kutuzovs that come into my brawling range. Easiest xp of your life, just point your bow on and eat him alive. Also, if that are your skyrocketed stats, I really wonder what were your "bad" stats with Kutuzov. next: yea, bb will get a lot of overpens lately, thats sadly true, but please do charge on a BB with a paper ship that turns like a brick, then tell me how that went. considering torps: yea they are great, good luck getting into 4 km radius away from enemy BB. ofc that can happen, once in a blue moon... Low caliber HE spam (not really sure what you even consider low caliber tbh) is a perfectly viable strat for dealing with both cruisers and battleships. Its not fun when you are burning all the time, and getting hit for 3 k damage every 8 sec on top of that. you will die. ofc, you will not die in 2 sec, but leave that to battleships, you cannot delete BB in 2 sec with cruiser anyway (yea yea torps). Deleting DDs is easy with your railguns, so you don't have to come 7 km away from them to hit them. and charging in to use radar in the begining of the game is a suicide. Ambushing bigger ships works like a charm too, but the only problem is that you have garbage concealment and 4km torps, so yea, ambushing someone is a "bit" hard part. HE spam maybe is not that fun maybe, but yea, its effective. and I dare to say its even more effective then trying to rush someone with a paper brick and trying to pummel BBs with your mighty 152mm AP shells. Atago has 2km better concealment then RU cruisers, so yea, sneaking on to him can be a bit of a problem once more, but sure, you can delete him with any t8 cruiser if you catch him off guard. They are squishy, but the rudder shift, and turning radius IS THAT BAD (more so on Moskva). And the conclusion of your post: You have no idea what you are talking about. You don't own a single RU (or even USN for that matter) cruiser, except for Kutuzov, but you know how to play them all, you know whats working, what not, and how they behave in all situations. thats a load of cr@p. eh, the main problem with russian cruisers is that they have no armor, so you really don't want to get into 12km range... they are snipers, use their range, stay in cover and burn everything from 16 km away (or even more later on). they aren't meant for brawling, every single stat they have are bad for getting up close and personal. bad concealment, bad rudder shift / turning radius, big ships with citadels even bigger then ship itself, basicly 0 armor etc... leave brawling to US cruisers, and just snipe away

well, I'm only at t7, but from what I've seen, they all play similary. Load up HE shells, and set everything on fire. WATCH THE WORLD BURN!

And I never said it will. I said its backfireing. Its a constant loop that WG is doing over and over again, screwing the gameplay. Instead of making the gameplay possible to cruisers, they are actually giving more space to allready beefy BBs by directly/indirectly nerfing CVs and DDs, which once again brings to cruisers being in a bad spot with 5 bbs against them etc... its a magic circle, and WG seems to not understand that.

well, its pretty much the same tbh, especially now when teams are 5 BBs, 5 DDS and 2 cruisers...

people are just too jumpy nowadays when it comes to battleships as soon you even mention BB in your post (unless its "nerf BBs"), you are a part of BB mafia
