too lazy to go find stats, but hindy and DM are on bottom by everything (WR/damage etc)... Hindy has good AP, but if you are angled your damage drops down significantly, whereas Zao / Moskva can just sh!t on you from 18 km away with 5k HE damage salvos + huge fire chance. And Zao has better concealment, can stealth fire, have better torps then Hindy... Only thing where Hindenburg wins is AA and shooting broadside targets with AP. Des Moines is completely different story, and suffers from retarded shell arcs / slow shells, so you cannot hit anything in longer ranges.

I didn't say you are scrub, or you should learn to play, the bolded part was my whole point. Don't ditch the whole class because of people / shifted meta etc. Aaaaaand i currently don't have any t8/9 cruiser, have only t6/7/10 in my port And why would you play agressive? Thats another point of the current meta I tried to make, shitload of BBs, so you have to play careful, use islands etc as cover bla bla bla. And once again, there are ships that are better at that, and there are ships that are bad at that game style. Its the problem with ships, not the whole class. Thats why I'm currently playing my Shchors / Des Moines the most. DM because I love it, Shchors because it fits the meta with his railguns that can rip DDs apart even from 13-14 km, and burn down BBs from 15-16 km with their vodka infused shells. edit: and to quote myself on what I meant when I said "hunt DDs" "But by "hunting DDs" that doesn't mean you should charge in the middle of their fleet to kill them. You stay around your BBs (lets say in the middle of your BB / DDs) so when enemy DD comes to strike, or your DD scouts enemy DD, its your job to focus that DD, not ignore it like most of cruisers do, simply because shooting BB is easier. Don't forget that 1 good cruiser salvo will take like 50% of DDs hp, so you can most of times change the outcome of DD vs DD fight with few well placed shells, or you can save your BB from enemy DD rush by killing him before he strikes... Just don't chase them around the map, but focus them as soon as you see them. " note: that was about low tier gameplay.

And in random battles there are tier by tier ships that are simply better then their counterparts... Especially when it comes to cruisers...

BIG EFFIN THANK YOU! Somehow I've managed to keep myself from flaming in chat, or even posting that in this thread, but couldn't have said it any better then this.

Your stats are good, but cruisers can't be played. Isn't that an oximoron? As I said, in the current 5BBs per side games, cruisers have a pretty hard time. But its not like any other class bar DD is happy with that. When playing BB ill rather have 5 CAs per team then 5 BBs, since BB shooting at BB doesn't really net you a lot of xp/creds (not as much as shooting cruisers at least). But to say they cannot be played atm / they cannot influence the game is bullsh!t. You can support your BBs, burn down / harass enemy BBs (just focus fire). You can provide AA cover for your team. You can provide cover for your DDs, and most importantly you can AND SHOULD kill enemy DDs. Now tell me, how exactly killing 2-3 enemy DDs DOES NOT influence a game? If anything, this should be a ship by ship discussion, where some SHIPS are doing better then others in current meta. But to ditch a whole class as useless is simply not true.

Amagi is an owergrown cruiser with high mobility and good guns, but with poor armor, so you have to be on the move constantly, and wiggle around dodging incomming shells. Bismarck is tankier brawler with insane secondaries and turtleback armor that will prevent you from being citadeled at close range. So choose do you want to wiggle around, or to brawl.

The obvious whining how CAs can't do crapin a game, and every shell they fire is just shrugged off and repaired instantly. Get good.

That "test" was to see how exactly are germans being punished when shooting at their upper belt armor, when you shoot them from 15km away etc, since thats what people are saying trough this whole topic. They are fine because you can shoot them into their upper belt and they will get hurt hur dur... So yea, I know these tests were retarded, and I know I have no clue about the game, and I know there will NEVER be ANYONE showing me broadside in the game. Went for range... In todays BB camping meta, coupled with your laughable stock range, you feel useless most of times, whilst with the range you can at least shoot at camping BBs, burning them down.

eh, Shchors isn't brawler, its all about positioning... Find a nice, sweet spot for yourself and fire away... the guns are great (after comming from USN line, this feels like a freaking sniper), fire chance is hilarious (if you don't get fire in 2 salvos, somethings really wrong), and killing DDs is easy as well because of the railguns + the fact that your 1 good salvo will drop their hp in half... btw, after talking about cruisers, and mentioning Shchors, had to go and play 1 game with it ^^ Theese are the results (literary finished the game 2 mins ago)

YOU DID NOT MENTION SHCHORS!!?!?!?!?! in all seriousness, Shchors is excellent cruiser that fits this meta. (not sure how this is weak, but ok)

strange... I ditched my IJN DDS (have enough XP for kagero) and went USN line because IJNs are just not working atm. Heck, even Little Tigru ( a guy with almost 4000 battles in Shimakaze) is playing Gearing now because Gearing is a lot better DD then Shimakaze atm... but anyway, you can't even make "most easy dd in a game" work, so your oppinion really matters a lot.

Hard to play (properly)? yes. Pointless? nah... Although this 5 BBS per side meta does hurt cruisers, so they cannot do their roles properly (especially mid tier ones with their low range), they aren't useless or pointless to play. But are indeed in a tough spot currently.

And which BB wont give you plenty of pens? O.o

So, here is the replay showing durability of Yamato / Montana / Kurfurst. For all the people saying, just shoot them from 15km away, aim for the mid section etc, you have first part of video shooting Yamato / Kurfurst from 15km away, all shots aimed at that part of the ship. Count the shells needed to kill each of them if you want, if you are too lazy, I'll tell it to you (needed more to kill Kurfurst, but ok, lets call them the same, since you know dispersion etc), then you have example how to delete Yamato / Montana, while Kurfurst gets 10-20k damage dealt to him... http://wowreplays.com/Replay/17006-cro_pwr-Open-Ocean So yea, please continue telling me how their armor is weaker to their counterparts when in mid - long range...
