From what I see in that picture, your 2 shells bounced off Fubuki, and Fubuki shot you with 1 HE shell that penetrated and detonated you. BS mechanic, serves for nothing but iritation, but yea... And as someone said on forums (I'm not 100% sure its true), you can get detonated by a shell hitting water next to you...

I know this is a bit offtopic now, but currently there are 3 USN premium BBs, at tiers 5, 6 and 9. German premium BBs at tier 7 and 8. And IJN premium BBs sitting at t2 and 4 (if you get my point xD)

Depending on a BB / CV / DD they are in And as mtm stated above, when fighting cruisers, you don't want to be 5 km away from them. Find your "sweetspot" and stay at that range, because, especially high tier cruisers can be a real pain in close combat. Most of them have good torps (10km IJN / 6km German / 4 km Russian) is the most common, so you don't want to get torped from a yolo rush cruiser. Another thing is your turret traverse as mtm said allready (Amagi has a pretty good traverse, but not that good that you can follow cruiser circling around you 3 km away). But one more really important thing is, that (most of) high tier cruisers have a really nasty AP (a lot of people tend to forget that) that will wreck you if you show them broadside, and even citadel you quite easily. I had a battle few minutes ago where I was in Des Moines with 2-3 k hp left, and enemy Amagi "rushed" me behind the island, sailing broadside 5km away from me (with full hp). By the time he managed to sink me (his secondaries finished me off...) he had 1k hp left. I did 60k damage to him in a minute or less. 5 citadels, broke his engine, broke his gun etc... You don't want to do that... So most of times you want to stay at 10-13 km away where you can keep your guns turned towards him at all times, you can dodge his torps, you can (this is important) overmatch his bow armor from that distance, and still keep yourself angled towards him to minimize the damage he is dealing to you. The only reason why I charged hipper in the second game is, it was 1v1 battle where I didn't want to allow him to get back into concealment and find a better position for himself, since I had him somewhat cornered. In most other situations, you want to keep at least some distance to enemy to prevent him yolo rushing you or anything I allready mentioned above.

Belfast would be even easier to delete when 1v1 vs Battleship.No armor, gets citadeled even when you shoot 10 m next to the ship, no torps... Only thing she has is good concealment (eh... can be tricky to catch up with her), smoke (not working since there is noone to spot for you, so its a big "shoot here" mark) and radar, but you don't really need to radar that BB charging at you

Just to clarify something. Bet was I will not score a single hit on him. Thats why in first game I just rushed him, scored a hit and won the bet. Then mtm said lets have a proper fight (after I've explained it to him), so we went into the 2nd round to fight to death (since me and mtm had different view of first game, aka he tought its a proper fight, I didn't). And in a proper fight, I've won again.

Regarding surveilance stations... Good luck shooting them with DD, or for that matter, any ship from closer range. You just cannot elevate your guns enough to target them...

As far as I'm concerned, you are invited (BUT I WANT VOD OF THAT!). Just ask Adler if hes fine with it As I said, I'm not pro at BBs. Heck, I might even try to 1v1 BB myself when driving high tier CA. And I'm pretty sure Flamu / Spithas or anyone would beat me 1v1 in their CAs while I'm in BB. However, I'm not sure even Flamu or Spithas would go that far to say they wouldn't get shot once in that match.

Sadly I don't own NC Nor I'm 100% sure I'll win this or anything. Just want to put his theory on test Heck, I'm not even such a good BB player when it comes to that, but I like challenge

tier 4 are OK, tier 5 are beasts, tier 6 roll over anything that moves.
