    even if it works the way you mentioned, its still waste of a skillpoints in my book. Yea, it could buff up your BB gun reload few sec, but after you took 100% hp in damage, and then the game will soon be over and you won't get that much benefit in total DPS.

    23 games with ~50% WR and ~110k damage on average. premium def AA = 22 500 x 23 = 250 000 creds 23 t9 games = 2.76 mil creds in total, thats ~ 8 mil creds which means that you earned ~400 k creds on your average game. Considering half of that was losses, that means that you earned 300k creds for losses on 110k damage games and 500k creds on wins Thats allready a bit iffy, but quite possible, if you stack all flags and premium acc, and even then, those games would earn you a lot more creds if you played any other class bar CV. And by a lot more, I indeed mean a lot more (didn't even take plane costs into account, and those are quite big on t9 and in 23 games, creds spent on that would add up to a hefty sum)

    its not as beneficial as tanking for your team and pushing together with them, but try to explain that to your average BB player... Even more so, try to explain that to him after he scored double citadel on some cruiser from 20 km away. Try to explain to him that he should come closer...

    The CV enjoyment

    My main reason why I don't play CVs all that much lately is because of the economy changes... I can kill 9 people, deal 600k damage, shoot down 50 planes, all of that on t5 and somehow I will still be 3rd on my team and earn 1k base xp and 50k creds for a victory... Its so damn frustrating to see over and over again that you aren't rewarded for your contribution... This is my last Ranger game... So next time, I'll try to kill 10 of them, deal 500k damage and then MAYBE I'll get a proper reward for my efforts (I was basicly the one who won us the game by killing their DDs/ allowing my team to cap / securing last points for victory by killing Graf Spee etc...)

    I mean, I might have put it pretty harsh/bluntly but, thats simply the answer WG will give on any toughts about putting more restrictions / tiers when it comes to matchmaking. Even +1/-1 MM is a big NO for them because of that (aka, thats one of the reasons they stated why they don't want to implement +1/-1). So, changing it even considering the hull you are playing is not gonna happen in a close future (although yea, you would fare better with +1/-1 in stock ship then in a +2 but... give WG money and buy free xp to unlock next hull...)
  11. Yea, but once again, the main difference is that CVs gameplay aint even close to something else... If you play BBs exclusevly, you will still somehow manage to play DD/CA, but... CV...
  12. But why to force someone who doesn't like, will not like, and does not want to play carriers, to play carriers. And to spend few mil creds on them, and to spend some time learning them, and to... (well you know the rest) just so he can continue down with the missions, and playing the game as he likes to play it...I mean, I'm playing carriers myself (not that much, but I have them in port), and I can easily finish that missions, but there are too much people that just don't like RTS gameplay style of CVs, and I can completely understand them.
  13. Just to add to what Stugga said above my post: If your only chance to counter that skill is to get that skill yourself, you can consider it broken, and should not implement it in the game... End of story...

    Its so paper that you can comfortably charge on Montana (and if she is not smart enough to run away) blast her out of the water. Heck, You can even do that to Yamato, altho a bit tougher because of lolpen guns and different citadel positions. But yea, paper as hell...

    Anybody played the Des Moines? Any tipis?

    Just my 2 cents... I still support full concealment build. Your shells work best at literary 10km and less distances, where you want to surprise enemy cruiser with a juicy AP salvo to their broadside, taking half of their HP out in few seconds... 13km + all other cruisers can just kite you away and win the fight, since kiting cruiser wins most of the time anyway, and with your shell arcs, all of the cruisers have upper hand in a longer range fights. So most of times, if enemy tries to run away from you, and kite you away, you want to disengage and find a better position (surprise him again), and 1-2 km concealment helps you with that, especially if there is an enemy DD close by... (once again, good player will murder you in longer range combat, so even if you start running away from him, instead of chasing him, and there is an enemy DD somewhere close, you will loose a lot of HP trying to get into concealment). One more thing is, that with 10.6 km concealment, you can get REALLY close to your radar range and surprise a lot of enemy DDs that will not expect you there, and simply die to your radar and focus fire. And you can tank bigger BB shells then t8 German shells, just don't take them on 90° bow on, always keep a slight angle between your bow and his guns, and you can bounce a lot of things. (Don't try that with Yamato tho xD) Once again, just my 2 cents, and just wanted to point out an other side of the coin (THOR and myself play our DM differently since we got them, and both like our personal approach better, so find what suits you more )

    Is there any reason to play US Carriers?

    mid tiers (if you choose not to go for boring anti air setup) you can do only as good as bad your opponent is if you are against IJN CV. Your fighters are stronger, but he gets 2, you get only 1/1/1, or if you go full strike he can shut you down completely (once again if he know what hes doing). Your torps / bombs are stronger and are dealing more damage, and are easier to strike with, but don't expect that you will dictate the tempo of the battle as much as IJN CV can...

    Not to mention, some of t10 ships just don't have their "counterparts" at lower tiers... Take Des Moines for example... There is nothing that comes even close to her at lower tiers... Cleveland is probably the closest one, but doesn't have that punching AP power that DM has... Old Shima with 15 long range torps was everything that any IJN DD dreamed off... You start with 6 torps with 7 km range (Minekaze) and slowly get up to 20km range and 15 torps... Yamato that can simply punch trough anything... No other BB has that in lower tiers... Even if you can punch trough anything of your tier, you will get uptiered a lot, and will face enemies with better armor... Etc etc...

    carriers players rigging battles.

    You get countered by his fighters, by AA, by def AA button, by everyone and his mother having huge AA stats etc, and you are bitching about carriers not going for enemy carriers first. Thats some next level bitching about carriers, and trust me, I've seen a lot of them so far.
