    Double the base XP

Lucky you... How much creds/xp can you earn in lets say t10 battleship, if you win a game in 6 mins? How much effective damage will you deal, and how much will you tank (probably 0) etc. You will get off 2 good salvos because you will need 2 mins to even get into the fight and if you are lucky, you will score 1 kill and game will end (they won't get a single cap, 5-6 of them will die, and their score will drop to 0, thus you won the game)

    Double the base XP

Well, with new economy changes (it was discussed as soon as they introduced it), they should really give a boost to income if you roll over enemy team in 5 mins.... The way it works now, is that you are hoping that your teammates die, just so you can do a bit more in the game and at least stay at 0 creds -.-'
  3. Yes, there is (sadly) a lot of highly experienced CV players that go down to tier 4/5 to sealclub and farm their flags, or boost their stats... Lame, but its working, and yes, usually they will dictate the whole battle. But just a tip for you and for every other player I encounter that says he has problems with CVs dropping them from 10m so they cannot dodge torps. You don't start dodging after they torped. If you ever played CVs you should know how torp drops work, if you haven't I'd suggest you to at least watch few videos of CV gameplay. You have to drop torps manually if you want to hit at least something, because auto drops are too easy to dodge. If you drop them too close, they will not activate, if you drop them too far they are easy to dodge, if you drop them from bad angle (you usually want 90° or close to that) they will miss. So as a player that is being hunted by a CV, the key to defend yourself against strike is to start actively dodging drops as soon as you see planes comming your way. And you do that in 2 ways: 1) Torpedo bombers: you turn your bow towards them, and continue turning your ship, following their track. (Always use control+click to manually select planes so you kill them easier) In that case, carrier player has to rearange his flight / drop path, and with that he will stay inside your AA bubble for a longer time, thus you will shoot down more of his planes. If he drops them quickly not to loose planes, they will either not activate because you turned into them and they didn't have enough time to do so, or they will (mostly) miss. In the worst case scenario, you will eat 1-2 torps. NEVER EVER turn away from torps. Doesn't matter if they are CV torps, or DD torps, thats a guarantee you will eat all of them... 2) Dive bombers: In case you are targeted by a dive bombers, then you want to give them your broadside. Dive bombers have a oval circle where they will drop bombs, and as a carrier player, you want to drop them at the whole length of the ship to maximize your chances of hitting with bombs. So If you turn your side towards DB, they will once again have to reposition to have better angle, thus loosing more planes, or they will simply drop their load and probably hit only 1 or 0 bombs. If you started dodging when they dropped their torps, then sadly, you are 20 seconds too late, and not much you can do, other then blame yourself for not paying attention and allowing CV to get a perfect strike. Hope that help ;)

    Suggestion - for CV's

Fighters don't win games. Only scenarios where CV with more fighters can win you more games is balanced 2/2/2 Shokaku or Hiryu vs strike Lexington/Ranger, and thats if IJN carrier player is good, so he can cripple USN strike by a high margine, while simultaniously striking on his own. Full air superiority loadout is less useful then full strike loadout in 90% of cases (if both players are skilled) because your damage output is so low, that strike setup needs to squeeze trough 1 strike to do more damage then you did in whole game. And he will squeeze it trough because you will loose your fighters anyway, or you will eventually have to call them back because they will run out of ammo. And in that time window he will straight delete one of your ships, while you will be poking things around for 10k damage whole game long (so overall score is 1:0 for strike CV, thus he was more useful)
  5. short answer: no longer answer: Hell no. Its not only that they are forcing people to play specific roles (I don't mind it, I have all classes in port), but their concept is flawed. And its flawed to that basis that usually, whatever they mean as "hard" is usually completely luck based, and thats whats most frustrating. Last week it was score 10 torpedoes in 1 game. 10 Torps with high tier DDs will mutilate 3 enemy ships (F3 torps), so good luck with that. This week its even worse because of effin flooding damage. 20k flooding damage? Its easy, you just need to find Yamato, hit him with 1-2 torps to start flooding (you don't want to hit him with 5 of them, so you don't kill him) and hope he doesn't know how to press repair for next minute... I had ~140k damage game in my Yugumo yesterday, and I think out of that 140k damage, flooding caused less then 1k...
  6. Yes, this is another CV economy rant, but its another one because I simply don't understand WHAT THE F DO I NEED TO DO TO GET GOOD REWARDS! No, really, I don't understand it. You go full strike, you kill half of enemy team, you earn high caliber, kraken, 10 kills whatever, you end up being 3rd in your team based on XP. You go AS setup, you earn clear sky, you manage to kill something with your bombs, you earn 1k xp for a victory. You go balanced, you do all of above, take out 5 ships, 50 planes, cap 3 bases and you get 1k xp for a victory. WHAT THE F? Seriously, what the actual F. Last time they said "They don't reward damage dealing for CVs that much, because its easy to deal damage in them bla bla bla". Then what are you rewarding??? You don't reward kills, you don't reward damage, you don't reward planes shot down, you don't reward spotting. I have numerous examples of low xp gain in games where I killed half of enemy team and / or dealt huge amounts of damage... But here is the last great example of your CV economy, and things that they are rewarding. Lexington game, in which I've killed 3 of them, dealt over 80k damage (not too bad for t6-7 game), SPOTTED both of their DDs, and got them killed (you can see my spotting damage is ~60 k, and thats because both of DDs were killed because of me), killed 12 planes (their CV was afk for some time so I didn't manage to kill more of them), and game awarded me with a nice middle finger for doing all of that and basicly winning the game for us. So I did EVERYTHING they said they are rewarding now when playing CV (instead only dealing damage) and yet I got nothing from it...
  7. My most memorable reports were 7 reports because I am a haxor that managed to hit reversing Nurnberg from 10 km away, and 6 reports after 6 kills in Fubuki (someone was not impressed). But that said, I'm still sitting on 74 karma, after getting few reports here and there when I get pissed because of... well... people playing really well I mean, you don't have to be 1337 MLG player, but I think some guys in this game have a Post-it on their monitor with "Don't forget to breathe" on it...
  8. Said I'm sorry in advance And yes, its "kinda" true, but isn't at the same time... In this case they dropped income for 1 thing to 25% but gave you income for 3 other things in return... The main problem is that all of those 3 things combined give you 40% income instead of 75%. Or you should, I don't know, shoot down 100 planes at t5, kill 10 enemies, while spotting their whole team from first to last second of the game and all of that while doing pushups and with your monitor turned off ofc. And UI is such a clusterf**k that I have no idea what unit am I controlling for half of time. I'm used to 1/2/3/4 groups from my Warcraft 3 experience, so it comes somewhat natural to me, but when you have interface that will switch your groups randomly if you click more then once every 10 seconds, in a situations where your positioning and decision making is a matter of second (or less), you suddenly get the urge to throw your PC out from your balcony. As Exo said, you had better controls in a Warcraft 1 (played it) then you have in 2016 game, and thats mind boggling...

    Useless railway

Not every harbor can take in huge transport ships, nor every harbor has proper equipment for different types and sizes of cargo. Some harbors are for lets say container cargo, some are specialised for (hmmm, bad english incoming) non - packed things like coal, gravel etc. This one seems like a latter one, where you would drop the gravel / coal into the wagons and then transport them into the town. (to fuel the volcano ofc ) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND this is from my very shy knowledge, so I might have mistaken, but I think thats the case and this looks more like a coal mine, and they are transporting it FROM the island, rather then TO the island
  10. Now, this is what I'm talking about. Can you see the pattern? Which one should be more rewarding?
  11. I might sound a bit rude now (not my intention, but I'm pretty triggered)... I know how creds/xp works, and that it works on % of hp. But F**** devastating strike is a F**** devastating strike, be it on BB or on DD. And I know how to choose my targets, whats my priority in game, and what should I strike, where and how, I think my stats aren't that bad that I have to go trough "Carriers for dummies" first, to improve my gameplay. And I played Warcraft 3, so I somehow can manage to control 2 units across the map... Not that easy with this sh*tty UI, but I somehow manage. (Once again, I'm not doing that bad in CVs, I'd say). And I'm not even talking about how broken cred income is. What am I talking about is WHY THE F WHEN I KILL HALF OF THE ENEMY TEAM; AND DRY OUT ENEMY CVS HANGAR; I END UP 4TH IN MY TEAM WITH EFFING 1.5 K XP. If I do HALF of that in ANY OTHER class, I'll end up with 3k+ base xp, not 1.5... Just look at your 2nd game that you posted. If you did that in a cruiser or BB, you would end up with 3.5 k base XP EASILY. And the worst thing is, official statement from WG was, that when they changed economy, they changed it in that way that they NERFED income from damage and kills, but BUFFED income from SPOTTING, PLANE KILLS and all of that shanenigans, which simply IS NOT TRUE. You get jacked sh*t from all of those things (ok, you get some SMALL rewards from killing planes) so you end up getting sh*t reward for single handedly winning the game. Whats most dissapointing, is when you do your best to carry the game, and somehow with all this insane AA bubbles you manage to do it, just to find yourself being 3rd on your teams scoreboard, while first guy is some BB that killed 1 cruiser and shot down 5 planes from enemy CV that were targeting him. At that point, you are just... "Why did I even bother..." edit: and thank you Pete for your quality insight (like always), but please, show yourself out.

    Operation Excess Mission bugged?

eh, depends on MM and what you are shooting, and ofc how your lucky stars aligned... If you are lucky, you will do it quite easily with Shchors/Chappy, if not, you will score 250 hits, start 20 fires, and deal 20k damage with your main guns, rest will be from fires... (and ofc I used Takao for that one myself, altho I have DM, but I tend to use AP on DM too much )

this is the "new low" even for a freaking bastion and I tought it cant go any lower

Do NPC ships have permanent radar

tl;dr: they have inbuilt maphack, aka know your position as soon as the battle starts. if you want to test this, just go into training room against bot CV, and try to hide yourself from him... he will always find you in few seconds.

    Bismarck-the paper ship

Thats not knowing how to aim, thats SHOWING EFFING BROADSIDE TO EFFING AMERICAN CRUISER AND HER EFFING MONSTER SUPER HEAVY AP SHELLS! Show broadside to anything from Pensacola to Des Moines, in any kind of ship, and if he is smart enough to load AP, you will get punished hard. Thats not Bismarck, or any other German BB problem, thats the players problem. While you will score 10k salvo on Bismarck with that shells, you will get goddamn citadels against Amagi (yes, you will get citadels with cruiser against BB). So its quite easy. Don't show broadside...

Is there any reason to play US Carriers?

exactly my point. As USN carrier, you are always on a defensive, reacting to IJN one, while IJN is dictating the tempo. He has faster fighters, he can decide where and when to fight, he can catch up to your strike easier, bla bla bla... If he is smart, he will shut you down a lot. If he is not, then you are the king, and can rip appart a lot of ships on the battlefield.

    Operation Excess Mission bugged?

Yea, but hitting 300 shells and dealing lets say 40 k damage (it was obviously less then 50k) is a bit dissatisfying to say at least... Have the same issues lately whenever I go to play Chappy... Salvo after salvo I'm like, come the f*** on, just deal 1k damage allready... Didn't have that much problems with it before (or I think I did not at least), but last few games, I didn't even manage to damage enemy cruisers (namely NO and Chapayev) and that was frustrating as hell

    A guide to playing Battleships.

Seriously, whats the point anymore... 20% of people who know this don't need that advice, other 80% will never even read that threads, or will just ignore everything and go back to humping the border...

    Operation Excess Mission bugged?

You used Belfast, thats the problem On a more serious notice, thats quite a low damage for that amount of hits / fires...
