Lets put it this way. In which areas does Baltimore excels when compared to other cruisers? Long range combat is downside for her. Lack of torpedoes is downside for her. Overall damage dealing is downside for her (since she is on bottom of that stats as well). So, which areas does she EXCELS at, to cover up her bad sides, so you can actually say its a good ship?

Even if you have good time in Balti, even if you do good in her, even if you value some of her aspects, I think not many people will disagree that there is basicly another cruiser that is better at what you are trying to pull off with her. The same thing is with NO, the same thing is with Pensa. The best bread and butter of NO/Balti is getting close to enemy cruisers and delete them with AP salvo to the broadside, but good luck doing that in a camping high tier games where you feel -not so useful - to say atleast. I don't know what kind of battle should that be that I decide to bring NO instead of Chappayev, and since I just bought Donskoi I cannot say the same for D.D./Balti, but I have a feeling it will be quite close opinion... edit: just checked my stats... Chappy is (across same number of battles) leading my NO for ~30k avg damage. In Donskoi, I have 3 battles, with completely stock ship, and 1 point captain (didn't even put 3 mil upgrade on her), and still my avg damage is bigger then in Baltimore

I didn't go trough everything in this thread, but in last few posts, when people said BBs should be closer to the battle, you said its impossible because cruisers/DDs will burn your down in a minute... And we disagreed with that, mtm even gave you the video of how to play against HE spammers, you ignored everything and called us elitists / stat whores / bb haters, what not... But, we are adding nothing to this forum with giving an advice about how to PROPERLY play a class, but you are contributing a lot with name calling. Nice logic there m9. -

But but mtm, you don't use logic when you argue with someone! You just yell FIRES OP NERF PLS!!! Btw, playing agressive in BB doesn't mean YOLOing into half of their team, getting focused by 4 cruisers (if you manage to find them ingame) 2 DDs and 5 BBs, then saying "I TOLD YOU SO!" when you die in 5 mins. It means being on front lines, making a presence, being constant threat to all of that cruisers / DDs trying to get close to caps / your team. And by all means, let that cruisers try to get close to burn me with HE. I like farming devastating strikes. -
Yup, you literary wreck any t5/6 cruiser you set your eyes upon... And you have better range then they do, better armor and heal...Poor Omahas and others alike simply evaporate when you hit them... You can citadel them trough the bow...

I won't go too much into discussion about is it mandatory on RU DDs (especially when played well, that little buggers are next to impossible to hit), but to say that you don't get your engine/rudder knocked out so much nowadays is... Where the hell did you pull that out from? Every good salvo from high tier cruisers will knock your engine or rudder out. Maybe one shell hitting Khabarovsk will not, but few shells hitting any other DDs will break something. IF you are lucky, that will be your torp tubes / gun, but counting on luck to survive in high tiers games is pushing it a bit too far.

If you feel better, 2 days ago I've finished the day with ~1600 WTR rating and ~30% WR (WR raises your WTR quite a bit), so imagine what kind of teams I had.

What I'm most pissed about in the past year and whatever I'm playing the game is that you can't find a proper mechanic guide for this game. there is next to nothing explained by WG on how basic mechanics actually work, and what is the best to do in this situation over that. Even half of the player written guides are made by their own experience, not by a normal game mechanic follow up. Just a random thing comes to my mind, from a situation I've had in the game few days ago. There is 1 lonely ship left on enemy team, against 4-5 of us, and he is hiding somewhere in the corner of the map. So I wrote to him "I don't get it why are you hiding, you will earn less money / XP for hiding, then for fighting and dying in the process". Then some guy wrote "You get more XP/Creds if you stay alive". Now tell me, where in the name of God did he come up with that, and the worst thing is, how can I explain him that its not true? Go to this and this site with official WG guide about XP/creds mechanics... Oh yea, we don't have that lol... -
mate, I've submitted ticket few days ago, and got the "cool story bro, but there is automated system that works fine" answer...So I'm not talking out of my @ss but from my own personal experience...

Ramming deals so little damage its ignorable. And it deals damage to both sides, so it doesn't matter if you reflect that damage or not. However, shooting someone with your guns should reflect that damage directly to you. And no, opening support ticket does not help. You simply get an answer that there is automated system that works just fine...

Pls don't under any circumstances tell WG to add more elements to the port UI. Even now you need 5 mins to properly select your ship, imagine what will happen if they start putting more things there... -
You know whats even more broken? Someone can shoot you for X number of times, without even going pink. Few days ago I had my DD teammate using his guns to drop me to ~1k hp (low tier DDs) without turning pink. So lets say it was high tier battle. You will not get compensated for damage he caused to you because of new epic economy system. He will not get pink because he didn't kill you. Someone will (2 min after that) finish you off because you have sliver of hp left. You will loose 200k creds, he will happily sail away as nothing ever happened. System is rotten to the bone, and WG is doing nothing to prevent it. If anything, they should make it so that first instance of damage is not punished (if you accidently shoot someone with 1 shell, damn it, happens from time to time when you cuddle in smoke), but every next consecutive hit on the same target will reflect the damage. You want to shoot your allies? Fine, you will deal damage to yourself, and you will loose creds / xp / whatever. Why should I PAY for YOU TK ME?

Some premium ships are OP, some are just sailed by experienced captains in lower tiers. OP premiums are: Nikolai, Gremy, Flint (to some extend), Belfast, probably Atago, and Saipan is debatable. Considering CVs, you basicly missed the point by not a mile, but by a good 100 miles, so use a search function to read a bit about CVs, then make such a silly statements.- 18 replies

Much better HE is a bit of overstatement. Better HE shells is a bit closer in my book. Compared to USN floaty arcs and overall bad performance in long distance combat, KM CAs would still be a lot better long range combat ships then USN are.What would hurt USN the most is that with such AP angles, KM would be pretty close, if not better brawlers then USN ones, so USN CAs would loose their strongest weapon when fighting other cruisers.

Nope, Buffalo is something close to Des Moines, aka t10 USN cruiser, but with 4 turrets and 15 sec reload instead of 3 turrets and 6 sec reload 203 mm guns. (correct me if I'm wrong) -

They are making it more fool proof for past 6 months... Every new patch, every new change brings something new that requires 0 skill to use properly. In next 6 months, this game will do everything for you, except you will have to click your mouse to shoot. And I guess, some people will find that too hard, so they will have to download autoclicker.
