    First thing first. There are easy missions, there are hard mission, and there are stupid missions. No other way to put it... And nobody is complaining about hard missions. Everyone is complaining about stupid missions that require either huge amount of luck, or promote a bad play (we have enough of those in games, even without such missions). Now, first of all, you should stop putting missions that promote bad gameplay. Thats FIRST AND FOREMOST thing to do. Missions like "Kill a carrier in a destroyer" and "Ram someone" have nothing to do in the game... Killing CV IS NOT DDS JOB. You know how games looked at that point? Every game, even in tiers 9-10, if there was a CV present in the game, you had one DD completely ignoring spotting, caps, everything, and spending whole game long running around the map trying to snipe the carrier. And as you can imagine, they all failed, because its just THAT SMART to get caught in the open ocean with 0 support in a DD while you are up against competent Hakuryu player... Ramming someone? Where the hell should I even start to explain how dumb that is... Why the heck would you even want to ram someone if its not your last resort, and that happens in 1/100 games... Second: Missions that are based on luck... There were a lot of missions that were simply not affected by a players skill, but by sheer luck to happen. Even this mission is a bit of WTF moment. Dealing 160k damage is challenging. Doing so much damage in a specific numbers to a specific classes requires so much things that a player cannot have any influence on that it breaks all purpose... You can decimate half of the enemy team, heck, you can kill 11 enemy ships alone, but if there was only 1 DD on enemy team, and he spawned across the map and died in first 3 mins, you cannot complete the mission. If there are 3 battleships pushing, you want to kill them, scoring 200k damage, but then you remember you need 50k damage on cruisers, so you should focus on that cruiser 20km away from you? Nah... So to complete this mission, you need to deal 160k damage while HOPING that their DDs will survive enough to deal some damage to them, that their cruisers will spawn close to you and survive long enough for your to kill 2 of them, and then proceed to solo kill Yamato... No worries. If one of them dies too soon, well, tough luck, try again in next battle. And hope your team wont win too fast so you can farm enough damage (preferably, if you are on 150k damage and you see your points getting too close to 1000, kill few of your teammates to ensure game will last longer). Flooding damage was another mission that required quite a bit of luck (you had to do it in DD, so there was no possibility to use good old set him on fire, wait for repair, then strike him with torpedoes to ensure flooding CV tactics), since you had to pray that his damage con will be on cooldown for long enough to deal flooding damage at the moment your torpedoes struck him... And why would you even want flooding. You want him dead, you want to hit 5 torps and remove him from the game, you don't want to hit only 1 torp to ensure he will survive and then flood for next minute, since in that minute he can still shoot your teammates, and repair HP after that. While that mission was up I've had a games with >100k damage from torpedoes, and ~2k damage from flooding... What you should focus on, is to make missions that will be challenging, and will have good rewards to actually make people try to finish them, BUT while promoting good plays. Some of good examples would be: - cap 2 bases in a single game / cap 10 bases overall (capping is important, show that to your players, give them more reasons to cap, less reasons to chase CVs around the map) - tank 2 million damage in a single game / tank 20 million damage overall (talking about potential damage here, that would actually give our beloved camping BBs a reason to come closer and tank for the team) - spot 10 enemy ships - accumulate 500k spotting damage - spot 10 torpedoes - and the regular main battery hits / citadels / damage done (but NOT to single class, while driving exactly the given ship, and in between 5th and 10th minute of the game)
  3. Belfast is blatantly OP, but you can keep your distance etc in Shchors... Leningrad CAN NOT radar you. You can always use your smoke to cover up yourself, to back up to the rest of your fleet and get him killed if he gets too close. You can use your concealment to keep him spotted all the time while he cannot see you, so your team can ruin his day. And what can you do against 5.8km concealment, insane DPM DD with 10km range radar?
  4. You got me wrong. Playing against them is a challenge that I welcome anytime. I've always liked to play against good and even better players than I am, since you can always learn something new. And every time I see such players in enemy team, I'm glad I can test my skills against them. But meeting them in a ship that simply sh*ts on you without any way to counter it breaks all that fun, and brings out only frustration... PS. yay, I managed to summon FTD
  5. Sadly, if Khebab player is good, and did not make a mistake to come <10km away from me while I'm in DM, he can win that 1v1 fight... With DM bad shell arcs, and Khebabs insane speed, hitting Khebab from 12 km is a freaking lottery...
  6. None, since mission has t6+ requirement And on t6 scoring that would maybe be possible with great CV game, or something like Budyony/Cleveland if you are lucky enough to start bunch of fires on numerous different BBs that wont die before you manage to farm that damage.

  8. Let me put it this way. I do agree such people should be rewarded. I however CAN NOT agree that they should be given blatantly OP ships. I no way on Earth that is a good idea. If I enter the game in my Fletcher, and I see someone like _FTD_ with his division mate, both running Fletchers, I know that it will be hard as hell fight. And I know that he is a better player and will win 9/10 1v1 battles against me, so I will do everything in my power to shift the tides into my favor. I will try to score a lucky torp strike, I will try to wait for him to not pay attention to me, I will try to kill his teammates to reduce his support... Allready had a game like that against them, and they were followed up with Trump in Izumo. And yes, it was insanely tough battle to win, and it was a lot of hard work and a lot of luck to survive combined effort of 2 such good Fletcher players facing you. But now, lets see a situation in which I enter battle in my Fletcher, and I see _FTD_ and his division mate both sailing Blacks with radar. What can I do in that situation? What can I do against 2 great players, playing in a division, both equipped with RPF and radar on a DD? You know what? I can press Alt+F4. And no, I don't mean pressing "back to port", I litterary mean exiting the game, since that would ruin my will to play anymore...

  10. You get (IIRC) 3000 doubloons for R1 + quite a lot of creds, and bunch of flags trough the ranks. So there is always a reward for pushing to R1. But as you said it yourself, with huge amount of time in between ranked seasons, it really puts you down knowing that you will have to wait a year for Flint or 2 years for Black... Even for me that is playing it for a long time allready, but didn't care about pushing to rank 1 untill last season (my first R1) because there was no ships involved in rewards... Just few months after the Season 3 finished, WG was like, yea, whoever got 3 R1 will get Flint... And there I was sitting, reading, and thinking... Great move, announce it 2 months AFTER you finish the season that I decided to stop on rank 8 or so...

    Its all fun and sh*t until you bring something like Des Moines into the Ocean game, and get detected Oh the fireworks. Oh the glory of thousands of shells flying to you in next 5 seconds because everyone and their mother wants you dead, and every BB on the map has enough range to hit you Although had some hilariously good games with old Japanese 15km torps Ocean makes everyone cuddle up because they think they are safer together, and nobody wants to get too close. Just send your skill wall into a general direction of the pack and watch the panic rising while your damage counter is skyrocketing 3-4 torp hits every salvo was guaranteed
  12. I know it might sound silly, but I'm just brainstorming here... you can give... I don't know... any famous ship from t5-10... any regular ship with boosted economy gain (something like Missouri)... any somewhat balanced ship... or you can once again screw up complete balance with more and more OP premiums, or even regular ships... Well, guess 2nd seems like a better choice...
  13. My biggest disapointment was when I saw "if you got 3x R1 you get Flint, if you get 5xR1 you get Black" AFTER the old seasons have passed, and I've decided NOT TO grind to R1. If I knew Flint will be in the game, then sure, I would grind trough it etc etc... This "retroactive" way of introducing rewards is simply bad... OTOH I have to completely agree with your points... If you are allready gonna give players ships as rewards, then make them balanced. Flint was OP as hell when introduced, Black in current state has every single reason to be if she is put into the game in the current state... And if there is something this game does not need, then its more OP ships to add to current collection...

If you were bow on to all of them, there is no way in hell they could drop half of your life in matter of seconds...the only SMALL posibility would be that someone got some lucky pens / citadels on you, but then its simply bad luck, OR you wasn't angled enough to some of them, and ate a lot of damage (lets say Minotaur that can melt you if he gets nice hits on your superstructure / broadside)
  16. Once again, if you eat 4 torps, you did something very wrong. And yes, shima has 15 torps, but if you eat more then 2 torps, you should get punished. OTOH if you are taking them on bow (without torpedo protection) damage saturation will kick in, and you will eat less damage. and in the end, thats the whole point of CV/DD, to counter stationary bow on "I cannot be damaged" BBs, or the ones that don't pay enough attention, and are sailing in a straight line for 10 minutes...

    Warships.today and wows-numbers both work perfectly fine for checking your own. They have different layout and different stat tracks, but both give enough information about your performance. (but both have some problems with wows API and IJN DD line split lately, so ignore that)
  18. Nope. Not even. Just took 4 Shima torps in Yamato. Took 51k damage (took them on my torpedo belt). Yamato has 100k damage, so 4 torps dealt 50% of hp to me. And I repaired at least 20k after taking them, that means 4 torps took whooping 30% of my hp all in all. Yamato has 56% damage reduction from torpedoes, Shimas torps deal 23k at most. Thats ~10-11 k damage per torpedo. Amagi has ~50% damage reduction from torpedoes, highest damage from Kagero is ~21k. Once again, ~10k damage per torpedo. Amagi has 66k hp, so after you pop your heal you still have at least 35k+ hp to work with... But taking 4 torps means you made a big mistake (I did in last game), and you still have at least half of your HP to play around with on high tiers. Eating one torp equals 2 penetrating shells from high tier BB, but still, everyone is crying about torpedoes, while taking 50k damage in one salvo from enemy BB is quite fine. Even if you eat one on the bow / stern where you have low torpedo protection, thats only one, you can't eat 10 torps when bow on, and thats still not even close to enough damage to seriously cripple you...

    What Anu said... German BBs are still top dogs compared to other 2 lines. They are literary winning in 7 out of 8 tiers in all regards... (Bismarck got nerfed a bit lately). Soviet cruisers are still top dogs compared to older lines, USN cruisers are getting BUFFED because of the insane powercreep, and how far they were left behind. Soviet DDs were as he said nerfed TWICE, thats shows you that they were perfectly fine, and not OP at all. And after 2 nerfs, they are still insanely strong... I don't really understand where the heck are you pulling your arguments from, because you should really rethink them before saying things like that.

    In Pensacola, you will get shoot at from 20km away since you are spotted by every DD from 15km away, but well that will change soon. If it was the range you were talking about, I have another sad fact to present to you. Both Pepsi and Myoko have same range as Belfast does, but they don't have smoke, and they don't have nowhere close the concealment. Once again, CHECK SOME FACTS BEFORE TRYING TO PROVE A POINT!
