    Thats the usual problem with cruiser gameplay nowadays (with few exceptions ofc). Your only way to carry the game is to get close at the start, pop the radar and kill enemy DD so you get early cap advantage. The rest is supporting your bigger ships and slowly withering down their BBs/cruisers that the rest of your team is focusing on...

    torps WERE great area denial weapons, back then where you had access to 15km torps. Now with 8km / 10 km max range, you can barely cover the cap point, let alone stop the push from one flank. And they WERE great tool to kill battleships, but now with so much nerfs and introduction of hydro / radar / whatnot, they aren't anymore. Nowadays they are mostly used to force people out of the smoke, stop them from entering the chokepoints and scoring some hit here and there, so you force the BB to use repair because of flooding, so you can use your guns to set him on fire and deal damage that way. Yes, you can still have good game with massive torp hits against bad players / teams, but most of the time you will be (if you play properly) forced to knife fight other DDs around the caps, scout and support your team, while wiggling around radars and trying to stay alive more then focusing on dealing actual damage. just to clarify: there are some ships on mid / high tier that focus on torpedo heavy gameplay and still retain good damage/wr, like shiratsuyu and her 16 torpedo wall that is devastating in t7, but mostly gun focused / hybrid DDs are the one on the top of WR/AVG dmg

    Carriers, don't keep sending your planes...

    Two carriers decided it would be a good idea to get rid of my Des Moines. (before the patch, where you could have 2 CVs in t8-10 bracket). Result: Des Moines survived, 68 planes shot down... Go figure...
  5. Honestly, in last few months it seems that all the bots switched to t10 battles...You have better games and better players in t5-7 then in t8-10...

    And there is no such thing called dispersion in this game?CAs don't have better accuracy then BBS? Hitting something from 20km in a BB is unheard of? Scoring citadels from 20km away in a BB never happens? Think before you speak... Especially on high tiers with something like Yamato, hitting another BB or a potato cruiser from 20km away isn't impossible, actually, it happens every game

    that 30% hit rate is above avg hitrate in BBs, and that with 30% hitrate you will deal more damage in BB then you will with 50% hitrate in CA/DD?

    you know how you get a battle oriented around your BBs? By having 3 BBs in team, while 6 cruisers are supporting them, and those BBs are deleting enemy cruisers supporting enemy BBs. You know how you get completely broken and annoying gameplay? By having 10 BBs per team, everyone pointing their bows towards each other and shooting at each other for 10 mins untill you finally bring one down. now try to invert this post as well, so it somehow fits into your views...

    providing a more in depth tactical enviroment, and generally forcing a more team oriented battles then your usual solo warrior / I'll snipe from 30km with spotter on Yamato type of gameplay... too lazy to go into full details, but: tl;dr: if you like tactical gameplay, you will like to see CV in game

    I went for concealment, since it drops you to 12.6 which can save you a lot of times if you get into a bad position... Its not as good as Zao or something alike, but well, not that bad either...

    My toughts exactly, and thats why I played with reload module at first... What happens is that BBs are camping at the back as usual, and you more often then not find yourself either unable to shoot at anything, or too close to them to reliably dodge their fire (Montanas/Yamatos just LOVE to see Donskoi 15 km away from them, especially if you have to commit full turn to create some distance...) with almost 21km range, you can more reliably switch your targets as needed, while keeping a safe distance, until you get into some cover etc. You can always go for some yolo brawl against enemy BB (you have quite powerful AP, and 8km torps that aren't there just for show), but expect to get wrecked pretty hard by BB shells.

    Donskoi is more of a Moskva gameplay then anything else... Slap on range module (had reload, switched it for range), stay at 18km and burn down BBs... When BBs are removed, then you go in and clean up the rest... Otherwise you will just suffer. You take citadels from strangest angles, and once again turn like a brick (something whole line suffers from). But, when that BB is removed, and you close a bit of a distance, even your AP will work wonders... tl;dr, its not for a people that enjoy brawling / action packed gameplay, its more of a sit back and snipe type of ship

    PS: I've got a couple of alarming secrets to tell you: - you can send your fighters more then once - carrier planes have to run back to carrier, and then back to you - planes have to rearm for some time - carriers have limited amount of planes - BBs have heal to make that 2 torpedo hits laughable once again - if you allowed yourself to be constantly striked for 10 minutes without any support, then you did something terribly wrong and I can name you at least 10 of ships that will wreck that Amagi 1v1 without breaking a sweat, so yea, talking about 1v1 vs CV is quite smart argument...

    Are you serious now? People still think Amagi has useless AA, and gets wrecked by a same tier TB any time of the day? Are we playing the same Amagi? You have more then usefull AA that will shoot down 2-3 planes easily, even without putting up your fighter planes. (and thats without AA specced Amagi) If you put up your TWO fighter planes in the air, then things are even better. You have effing amazing speed and turning cycle for a BB, so holding TBs in your AA aura for 30 sec isn't that hard, or he can just drop torps in first strike without adjustments, and miss you completely. After all of that wiggling and waggling, and dodging his torps, you will eat maximum of 2 torps, sometimes even less, and for an Amagi that has 50% torpedo belt, taking 2 shokakus torps is laughable... So yea, if you are in Amagi, and you see that there is a carrier in the game, you can press "back to port" because you will get instantly deleted in first 20 sec
