You are forgetting that IJN planes are faster then your USN fighters, so good IJN captain will just play a cat and mouse game until he finds an opening

Let me make a shorter version: Picking a nation: IJN because USN sucks (and I'm the guy that has too much games on his Ranger) Picking a loadout: If you pick AS on your IJN carrier (in a random game), sell your carrier and go play something else There, a nice and short guide.

Because you pop your smoke, you start hammering everything in your range, just to find out you did 2k damage with 100 shells landed. Then you pop another smoke, score another 100 hits, and net another 2k damage. And then you say "F**k it all", rush first ship you see, to try and land some torps, and end the game with 20k damage done in a t5 ship. (if you are lucky enough not to get deleted by a single salvo from whatever ship shoots at your general direction) Leander is completely different story tho, and Fiji is great...

for me, she was a great fun before, when you could play stealthy, then just pop out and wreck someone. Now when there is 5 BBs sitting in spawn waiting for you to come out of concealment, so everyone can focus you, she is more of a "hard work to make her work"... In addition to that, we now have Tears of the cruisers and simmilar open maps, so yea... She lost her niche a bit. Still can be lots of fun, but at the same time, can be very frustrating to play.

You missed my point Usually when people see Ognevoi, they think "Meh, thats a little Russian bugger with 4.5km torps, and hes 8 km away from me" Aaaaaand then they eat torps

Especially when 90% of people still don't expect Ognevoi to torp them from 10km away

well, to be honest, I was doing really well with t6 Ognevoi, but now as you said, with lower captain and quite a different approach (4 guns aren't really kicking it in t8 so you have to play it as a hybryd with your torps), and a stock ship, I'm not doing as good.

pls pls pls take Yamato, go into training room and shoot 2-3 GK bots. Whatever map you want, whatever distance you want, whatever circumstances you want. I'm playing Des Moines, and its more or less the same thing. And currently grinding Donskoi / playing Chapayev now and then, while my mate is grinding New Orleans, so yea, I know what happens And I know what happens when I spot NO whenever I'm sailing a BB

No hard feelings Noodle, but have you played high tier games lately? High tier cruisers lately? When you are 1 out of 2 cruisers in the game, and are facing 5 t9-10 BBs that can oneshot you from 20km? And as soon as you are spotted you see the counter jumping to 5 people targeting you because everyone wants to farm that XP pinata that cruiser is nowadays... And no matter how angled you are, you will eat full pen damage from shells that they are lobbing at you (if you are lucky and it wasn't a citadel) ...

Oh well, lets do this... #1 This game is as realistic, authentic or simulating as much as Super Mario is. Call it whatever you want, but the fact stays the same, and its because of the game balance. #2 Oh noes, destroyer actually did damage to a battleship. With guns. In a game made with a principal of destroyers countering battleships (not as much as before). Who would have tought... Well, next time, when destroyer is shooting you, shoot him back. You have guns. A lot of them. Use them. But your AP deals 1k damage to destroyer? Switch to HE and hammer him with HE... But but, dispersion, and hes fast, and I can't hit him from 13km away... Well, either aim better, or get your cruiser to deal with him... But but but, there are no cruisers in my team because they are just XP pinatas for high tier battleships and nobody is playing them anymore!!! Yup, funny, isn't it... PS. if this was your first time to get trashed by a Russian DD while sailing BB, then you simply didn't meet a good RU DD captain yet, and I find it quite hard to belive if you are talking about your few thousand battles.

Yamato with spotter plane and SE is somewhere on the top of my favourite things to see in game And as people said, seeing something like that on t6 is eh... Seeing so much BS in tier 10 is really tiring.... edit: @MrMoon: double fighter planes can save your skin A LOT of times during the game, not only against CV (They help with them a lot too)

they should implement something like 100% XP bonus for playing German cruiser or whatever said ship during this type of missions... Because this way, its just wtf... Anyway, GL finding more then 1 GER cruiser in high tiers, then killing her and then being top scorer.

are you sure you read that properly and it was you who damaged the stearing gear instead of getting yours damaged by an enemy? I've finished the task quite some time ago, and it worked properly...
