    Especially when you needed a t6+ CRUISER to finish it I mean, I know Khaba is better cruiser then cruiser themself are, but WG still classified it as a DD

    stay at max range, keep moving at all times (or use islands to stay undetected) and pew pew on their battleships to burn them down. When the game has fewer ships in the game, then you can be more agressive and come closer to finish of something, but at the start of the game don't risk comming too close since your ship is made of paper and every BB that looks your way can demolish you with few shells.

    Cleaning lady would do a MUCH BETTER job then their PR department, because she would come home and say something like: "Today I was cleaning the office and there was something written on the chalkboard. It said "Fire and Water event" with "April 13th, 15:00 CEST written on the bottom". Which is allready more info about the event than we have now...

    I can't see any connection between the 2 of them. At least not from previous experiences. April fools content is a one day, one map slug, while this should be an even that spreads trough week/month long span with different rewards, different quests, different everything compared to April fools. So yea, I guess you are guessing wrong

    To be honest, I've played probably more then 10 online games (MMOs or whatever you want to call it) and I've never seen such a... lets call it sloppy... managment from anyone other then WG. And that says a lot... The amount of BS they are managing to pull off is astounding, and this is just another drop in the sea of failures. Announcing an even without any further information, then being late with it while everyone is waiting for it is simply amazing.

    I've said it before, and I'll say it again. When I'm playing BB, I enjoy the games with a lot of cruisers because obviously you can score lots of damage on them, BUT you need to try not to get yourself focused by bunch of them or you are dead. When I'm playing CA I enjoy the games with a lot of cruisers / few BBs because then I can actually OUTPLAY someone, aka I can outplay that BB 1v1 or I can outplay that cruiser 1v1 without constant worry about 5 BBs scoring devastating strike on me from 20km away. Cruisers vs BB works like a wolf pack against, lets say a buffalo. 5 cruisers can bring down 1 BB with ease if they focus him (maybe loosing 1 in the process), but now you have 1 wolf against 4 buffalos in the games, and that simply doesn't work (even if 1 buffalo is old, weak and retarded, there is a chance the rest of them aren't). And don't forget, CAs counter each other as well (especially at higher tiers, where showing broadside to another CA means you just lost half of your hp) tl;dr: Games with lower BB and higher CA count have a lot higher skill ceiling then the slug fest we have now.

  11. Well, if you find sitting there doing nothing enjoyable, then yea, Emerald is the peak of enjoyment. The only thing that somewhat improves the stats of Danae / Emerald is the fact they have torps, so you can score some suicidal / ambush torpedo hits. And even with that, the damage they do is pitiful. And please, are we talking about same ships? You can deal A LOT of damage to battleships? On that huge superstructure they don't have at that tiers? Heck even if by some magic you do manage to deal some damage, the numbers are so pitiful its not even worth mentioning (Aka doing 500 damage with every 10th shell landed against 50k hp ship that will delete you in a salvo). They can be devastating against DDs? Sure, if he is 3km in front of you, sailing full broadside in a straight line (or even better sitting still), because in case he is a bit angled you will deal devastating 0 damage since even DDs will bounce your shells... So how exactly do you support your battleships, or play a team game? Your smoke is too small to smoke your fleet, your damage is too pitiful to cover anything (you cant even save your BB against enemy DD since you deal next to no damage to them), you can't coordinate your HE spam to focus fire one target and burn it down... tl;dr: they are simply bad ships, and everything they can do, pretty much all other ships in the game can do better (can't really think of weaker t4/5 ship at the moment)

    Well, its just my personal opinion from the experience I have while playing Des Moines... Long range HE spamming = bad hit ratio so you want to start as much fires asap Close combat (<13km) = HE into superstructure if perfectly angled, AP against everything else... Or shoot few volleys of HE to start fire, then proceed to wreck them with AP... In both situations I don't need IFHE to deal damage... And considering how good DM AP is, even if BB shows you some broadside at 15km you wreck them with AP... And when facing bow on campers, you want to focus them together with your division mates / team mates to get 3-4 fires running on them ASAP to burn them down. Once again, its just my personal opinion, and I don't play on NA server, so maybe its good thing there, maybe people play differently, maybe this maybe that...

    As Allied wrote, getting AFT means that your AA is more useful in 1/15 games, getting IFHE means that you will deal same / a bit higher / a bit lower damage on average trough out every game you play. You give up a LOT of fire chance, to get skill that gives you so little in return (few shells here and there) on a ship that has: 1) great volume of shells aka great fire chance (if not dropped down with IFHE) 2) great AP, so you want to use AP as soon as someone isn't perfectly angled against you 3) great AA So to get few less non penetrating shells against USN BB, you are giving up great fire chance against everything. And getting AFT or not getting AFT is a huge difference, since without AFT you have great AA for protecting yourself, and with AFT you are all of a sudden a huge no fly zone that can actually give support to the rest of the fleet by just getting into a somewhat good position (no need to actually hug someone to protect him from planes)

    And how much BBs are in that games that civilized world is playing? Since I'm playing t9/10 every day, and without exaggeration 90% of the games I play have at least 5 BBs per side, while a lot less games has 5 DDs per side. So maybe you are playing a different game, or we are still talking about WoWS?

    Well, at the moment it certanly is fun to shoot your guns when less then 11 km away from high tier german BB. Maybe not for a DD player, but for someone for sure is... Heck, even for a DD player... All the fireworks, all the things suddenly flying towards you, the beauty of thousand shells wrecking your ship in next 30 seconds.

    Playable? Yes, against bad CV player. Good? No, since you can do much more in Shokaku.

IJN - Well rounded heavy cruisers with great HE shells (nuclear), good torps, but somewhat slow turning, quite easy to citadel so you don't want to show broadside (in anything, but some are bit more tanky) German - a bit odd line with strong AP at higher tiers, but lacking good HE damage. Ability to punish everything showing broadside with AP, and quite tanky at high tiers, but mid tiers are quite squishy with meh damage USN - low tiers are really fun (Cleveland is still great cruiser), but from t7+ they are quite squishy if you aren't angled properly. OK HE at high tiers but great AP that can wreck anything at closer ranges. A bit lacking in long range combat, but great for close range. Russian - Long range snipers with stalinium railguns. Great HE, great AP, but armor made of wet paper (until Moskva) and turn like a brick. Still they work great in heavy BB enviroment since you can keep your distance English - untill tier 6 (Leander) they are simply pain in the @ss, but from tier 6 onwards fun and strong cruisers. They work best from close ranges and can rack up a lot of damage if played properly, but you will need to rely on your smoke since even DDs can citadel you
