I don't know why you would think that I'm an authority on Submarines, I'm clearly not as I lack a lot of experience with them. (but at least I have some) Though you don't need a lot of experience with Submarines to realise this is a stupid statement : Or do you actually think that homing torpedoes don't work if you don't ping ? And how about the T6 Subs ? They have no unguided torpedoes, should they then always be pinging when using their homing torpedoes ? Tbh that would favour the surface ships as the Submarince constantly reveals its position - hence I called it "10/10 troll advice". And if we're going to snoop around on people's profiles; - your profile (Randoms) : - my profile (Randoms) : Yes I have very few games with Submarines. (but at least I have some)

Probably I went a bit too fast over that as I just assumed the possible outcomes as UU-P and UP-U, without indication of U1 or U2. I checked it a bit in more detail, it does look like the chance of having both unicum divs on the same team is 1/3 (I put it in spoiler below so you can check it; please correct me if I made a mistake or wrong assumption like before). It does seem to depend on which division gets assigned a team first. - if either unicum div is assigned a team first, the chance of having both unicum divs on the same team is 1/4 - if the potato div is assigned a team first, the chance of having both unicum divs on the same team is 1/2

Afaik the max difference between number of divs per team is one; i.e. a team can have at most one (pre-battle formed) division more than the other team. Thus, in your example of two unicum divs and one potato div, the chance of having both unicum divs on the same team is 50%. -- Divs are force multipliers; usually, good players will win more with divs and bad players will lose more with divs. It's not really strange to have good players div together.

@Smegger213 For someone who doesn't play the game anymore - and especially not Submarines - you sure seem to know a lot about how they should be played. :edit: You can add "boring" emotes all you want - just makes you more pathetic.

I probably still misunderstand, since I think you already have access to this, as the scaling is universal and thus the relative ratios are kept. e.g. Assume a game that is simply a race between two ships. If the speed of ship X is twice that of the speed of ship Y, it doesn't matter which exact value either ship's speed has to analyze how this game might work out.

Homing torps have a bit better dispersion and activation range, which can be useful in CQC. Also depends on the Submarine, some have homing torps with a high enough alpha that you can sink a ship with one strike anyway.

Both teams have bad players and usually there's at least one (super) unicum on either team. So - how does RNG / MM decide which one to grant the victory to ? :edit: Regarding the bolded part, (super) unicums also still make mistakes (albeit less) and they also can get unlucky sometimes with RNG (be it dispersion, fires, floodings, ...). You also seem to focus heavily on the damage dealt by or being dealt to these players, but then you forget that being able to trade damage well isn't the only thing that makes a player good; game knowledge, situational awareness and "game sense" are equally important - if not more.

No you are not naming and shaming, but I do recall you complaining more about one or two specific other players in a single Ranked battle; now it's a Yoshino (one specific player), before it was a Salem (one specific player), and there's probably some posts that I've missed. I would suggest to focus less on what you can't influence (i.e. teammates (not) doing specific things) and focus on what you can influence (i.e. your own actions, and how you can use the (non-)actions of these teammates to your advantage). Because, I don't remember the last time I had a Random or Ranked battle with only good players. There are always bad players, on both teams, and often they outnumber the good players (or at least what I consider to be good players). And even then there are sometimes good players who try their best to lose a game because ship/player XYZ is on their team.

I haven't seen the replay of that battle and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that a Yoshino is supposed to be played from further away if you want to play it to its strengths and account for its weaknesses. What should the player have done differently according to you ? Regarding the "why bring ship X to Ranked if you aren't going to use its strengths" : - sneaky DDs not spotting - "cap DDs" not capping - radar ships too far away - BBs not tanking - secondary BBs sniping from spawn - ... There's so many worse things than a Yoshino not playing aggressive enough imo.

Dodging homing torps in a BB is really not that super difficult to do - especially since the torps stop homing at a relative long distance (compared to other ship classes) + since you got pinged you know where the torpedoes will come from, so you can already position accordingly. And regarding mid tier slow USN BBs ... it has been some time since I played them, but iirc they have a rather nice small turning circle, so I think that it should be easier to dodge homing torpedoes with those ? (I would need to test this to verify, since I haven't had the opportunity yet to dodge homing torpedoes in a mid-tier USN BB) Regarding the last sentence; if he plays a lot of Submarines and notices enemy BBs often dodging his homing torpedoes, this is an indication that it is possible to dodge homing torpedoes - though not how easy or difficult it is. Of course it still comes down to knowing how to dodge homing torpedoes, and I think this is where many fail : I think that many players think dodging homing torpedoes is nigh impossible, so they barely try to. That's not to say that all ships can dodge homing torpedoes easily - in my experience the ships that I have it difficult with to dodge homing torpedoes, are CA/CLs with a slow rudder shift and/or large turning circle (e.g. Moskva), and DDs.

(assuming you speak the truth) You had a bad teammate and even worse enemies - not sure what the complaint is ? If you want all players in Ranked to perform better, you won't get that many easy wins, no ?

That's a player-related issue though and not a Matchmaker-related issue ? And what you describe - half the team being useless - is sadly not exclusive to Ops; the average player is simply bad. :/ -
