    Not necessarily; few days ago I was up against an enemy CV and Sub in div (me in Le Terrible). At one point in the battle I went to search the Sub and managed to sink it and survive, despite his CV buddy trying to help him.

    I've read that Subs on periscope depth take reduced damage (akin to FR DDs' damage saturation). I was looking around at the Wiki to find any info on this, but couldn't immediately find anything. :edit: Unrelated to the first part of this post; but I found this nice line of text on the Wiki :

    Afaik the replay files can only be opened with the Wows client. If you want to have the replay in a different file format, you can run a video capture software on the background while playing the replay.

    Not necessarily; if I meet a Scrub on the opposing team I'll go out of my way to sink him/her.

  12. Something is off with the math for the "Damage received". This was in the Operation "Cherry Blossom". :edit: The math checks out for the other damage sources (Artillery, Torpedoes, Other). Just the "Bombs" are not accounted for somehow.

    nobody said it had to be solo I don't have screenshots of all the games but I finished top XP in most of them.
  15. Smoke firing penalty is consistent with base concealment, yes, not that much with main gun caliber, as was seemed to be thought in this thread (hence my post). I didn't read your first post on the previous page, you explained it well there.
  16. I made a mistake; I thought the Napoli had a 27 mm bow so it could bounce AP shells of 381mm and below - but it has a 25 mm (upper) bow, so it can actually be overmatched. It does have an icebreaker to stop waterline pens, but if the bots hit high enough they'll do damage, my mistake !
  17. smoke firing penalty makes little sense tbh, apart from another factor to "balance" ships e.g. TX CAs : Venezia (203mm) : 9.9 km Des Moines (203mm) : 8.2 km Zao (203mm) : 7.2 km Hindenburg (203mm) : 10.2 km Gibraltar (234mm) : 9.5 km Goliath (234mm) : 9.0 km Napoli (254mm) : 8.8 km Gouden Leeuw (283mm) : 9.5 km Poor Venezia and Hindenburg
  18. Napoli is a CA, not a CL you can bow-tank many of the T7-T8 BBs GG anyway though

    The 1v1 Brawl is a cherry-picked example - but it's a scenario where both BB and DD have no support. I think it's also map reliant which DD may do well; a Hayate can do well in a 1v1 with an open cap, but probably not when there are many islands in the cap. In a Random Battle of course the situation is different, since the goal of both can be different. e.g. who has point lead, who has cap control ...

    Not sure why this matters apart from the map / cap lay-out being more advantageous to one than the other .. Regardless, the BB has guns, so it can shoot the DD when spotted, be it a French DD or a torp DD; a ship without ASW can't attack a submerged Submarine, even when it's spotted. But, to my best knowledge, there are only 2 ships without ASW at tiers where others do have it - Okhotnik and Leone - so idk why this was brought up. Regarding ITA CAs specifically, I wouldn't mind having plane-dropped DCs instead of ship-launched - it might as well have none.

    My weekend is going quite good so far
  25. I did the WV41 Independence Day mission in Coop and didn't think it was that bad. Yes it's slow, so you move / position yourself accordingly ... This is what I got; I know it's not the best score but I think 60k avg dmg is ok in Coop for a slow BB like WV41.
