I've received several rewards just by playing the game: a small amount of doubloons the SS Emden loads of flags and camouflages (by participating in events and Ranked Battles) the Albany and the Tachibana (by participating in the GNB event) a load of ARP ships (by doing the ARP missions) I could also have had the Kamikaze R in the Project R event, too bad I didn't in the end.

This is something I've also noticed lately. I feel like I'm getting much more overpens even though the shells clearly hit the area where the citadel is supposed to be. I don't really know how this is possible but maybe RNG has something to do with it. Maybe it was always like this and I just pay more attention to it now with the new ribbons. -

and again.. Random Battle; each team has 2 DDs; at the start I say in chat to try and kill their DDs asap to prevent one sneaking by and capping our base and what happened of course.. one of the DDs managed to sneak by and started capping our base I returned in my Colorado but was on too low HP to effectively stop him from capping, however I could reset the cap multiple times meanwhile.. none of my team returned and we lost by cap (they had 4 ships left, we had still 9 ships left) I really don't understand how people don't read chat or can't judge the situation of a game.. or do they just don't want to win?- 130 replies

why not report AFK players? or players who only start playing if already a third of the game has passed? or players who refuse to capture bases in domination? or players who refuse to defend the base if it's being capped (in normal game mode)? I'm sick of people who refuse to play as a team, and I'll report every player who deserves it (usually bots or people who are even dumber/worse than bots). On the other hand, I'll also compliment every player that deserves it. At the end of the day, I usually used all my reports and compliments. -

I might get toxic in chat if my team wants me to cap a base with my DD (Fubuki), but refuses to shoot the enemy DD that is also in that base (Fletcher). And then they scold me for not trying to cap and dying when I do... FFFFUUUUUUUUUUuuuu :edit: actually this accounts for every team that is too [edited]stupid to realise that you're better off killing DDs asap; especially if there's no CV in the game- 130 replies

I think it's good you're gathering statistics and they indeed seem pretty normal. However, T5 ships can't be medium tier: you're either top tier (T5 battle) or bottom tier (T6 or T7 battle). The problem is both T3 and T4 ships have preferential MM, which affects T5 ships' MM the most. Because T3 can't meet T5, and T4 can't meet T6, T5 ships are now guaranteed bottom tier in a normal-spread battle. <-> before 0.5.9, T5 ships could be top, medium or bottom tier in a normal-spread battle -
Seikin is right and those are the reasons why I usually don't care about kill stealing, as most of the time it's either kill securing or not worth the small damage to kill the ship yourself. HOWEVER, I do get frustrated by players who don't shoot at a ship but wait until it's at low HP and they're guaranteed to kill it with one salvo. I know the amount of damage accounts much more to the earned XP than kills, but when the same player steals your kills multiple times just by waiting till the enemy is on low HP, it gets very frustrating. e.g. I'm sailing in my ARP Hiei, an allied Colorado is sailing / camping in the back. The player in the Colorado ended the match with a Kraken but wasn't even in the top half of our team qua XP earned (I had 1 kill and nearly three times as much XP). How? He didn't shoot a single ship unless they were guaranteed to die; sometimes I shot 5-6 salvoes before he'd fire another one.

this so much probably the reason why most BB captains tend to camp at the back and shoot at max distance; and then start to whine about the shell dispersion there are plenty of ways to minimize fire damage HE doesn't ignore armor.. you need to hit the superstructure of a BB to do damage with HE (and this damage is minimal compared to the damage by the AP of an enemy BB) the closer you get to enemy ships, the more hits you'll land with your BB, the faster the enemy will die. Apart from the occasional lucky salvo, sniping from distance doesn't ensure (consistent) high damage. -
I think the biggest problem now is that 2 successive tiers have preferential MM. Unless you get a lot more 'narrow-spread' battles (i.e. max one tier difference), the first tier to not have the preferential MM is generally [edited] because it will (on average) meet more higher tier ships. In a narrow-spread battle it has the chance to be top tier, but in a normal-spread battle it will always be bottom tier (it can't be medium tier). assume each tier has about the same amount of players with T5-T7 battle I mean a battle where the range of ship tiers goes from T5 to T7 (i.e. a normal-spread battle with battle tier T7) before 0.5.9: Regardless the fraction of narrow-spread battles, T5 ships should on average be as much top tier as bottom tier. In normal-spread battles T5 ships can also be medium tier. now: The fraction (/chance) of narrow-spread battles now influences the chance of T5 ships to be top or bottom tier. Also, T5 ships can no longer be medium tier, because T4 ships can't meet T6 ships. If there are no narrow-spread battles: All battles are T5-T7 battles. -> T5 ships are always bottom tier. If there are only narrow-spread battles (which is essentially +1/-1 MM): The battles are either a T4-T5 or T5-T6. -> T5 ships can be top or bottom tier. If half the battles are narrow-spread battles: There are as many T4-T5 and T5-T6 battles as there are T5-T7 battles. -> T5 ships are bottom tier in 3 out of 4 battles. I don't know why you'd think TBs have become more OP (or why they are OP in the first place). I didn't read anything about TBs getting an HP boost or the torpedoes getting a damage boost (which they can certainly use at higher tiers). In fact, the last patches made AA a lot more powerful (especially at medium and high tiers); as a result, TBs have become less effective / powerful (at medium and high tiers). Although I can agree TBs might seem OP if you keep sailing your BB in a straight line or only start turning when the torpedoes are already dropped, but everything is OP if you don't try to evade or counter it. You have to accept that you can't dodge all air-launched torpedoes in a BB, but good BB players will do their best to take as least torpedoes as possible (usually only 1 or 2 torpedoes per TB squadron, depending on which BB you're sailing and which nation of carrier is attacking you), while shooting down as many planes as possible. If you see TBs coming for you, turn towards them; this will force the CV player to adjust the angle of his attack, prolonging the time his TBs are in the AA range of your BB, increasing the amount of planes shot down before the torpedoes can be dropped, decreasing the amount of dropped torpedoes and increasing your chance of taking the least possible damage. Just accept the fact that you're not going the dodge all the torpedoes. Of course, if you keep sailing in a straight line or only start turning once the torpedoes are dropped, expect to take a lot more torpedoes (3-5 per TB squadron). However this is your fault for not trying to evade, and has nothing to do with TBs being OP (because they aren't). e.g. Independence (me) vs 2 different Fusos: Fuso #1 spots my TBs but keeps sailing the same course at the same speed (-> I don't need to adjust the angle of my attack): 5 out of 6 air-launched torpedoes hit, only 1 plane shot down. Fuso #2 spots my TBs and starts to turn towards them, and keeps turning towards them (-> I need to adjust the angle of my attack, maybe multiple times): 2 out of 5 air-launched torpedoes hit, 3 planes shot down (1 plane before it got its torpedo away). -

CVs also get shot a lot by HE; setting a CV on fire essentially removes him from the game for some time, as the planes can't land or take off. At medium to long distances, CAs also get shot a lot by HE (by DDs or other CAs); especially if they're not giving broadside. At long distance the DDs' and CAs' HE performs way better than their AP. And about DDs... Why would you ever fire AP at DDs? Unless it's the only target to shoot at and you've got AP loaded, or it's to clear your barrels and load HE to wreck that pesky DD.. I think DDs take (relatively) the most HE damage of all classes. I think you're problem is that you haven't learned the most basic tactics by skipping lower tier ships. Because you're sailing slow ships, you need to read the mini-map better, judge the situation better, know beforehand what you'll do and where you're going to sail, know how and when to escape a battle if you're under heavy fire, and just simply know how to survive and take advantage of the amazing broadside and brawling power of the USN BBs. Wyoming and New Mexico are amazing ships for their tier, and New York and Colorado are also pretty good. Of course, if the New Mexico is the first BB you're playing, it's almost no surprise you have no fun playing it, as you don't know how to play the slow USN BBs (and at tier 6 this is more punishing than at tiers below). our discussion made me change HOWEVER, I still think the 155mm guns are more useful to get destroyers at medium to far range (mainly due to shell velocity), but I've learned to live with it.

Op to T8, battleships are the only ships (apart from some premiums) who can repair damage; fire damage is light damage so you can actually repair most of it. Other ships that can't put out a fire will suffer unrepairable DoT effect, so I don't really understand where you're getting this. @OP: As RNGSama mentioned, timing your damage control and HP repair ability is the key (together with knowing which battles to fight or flight from). It's not because you're in a battleship that you're able to take on multiple HE-spamming cruisers; unless you're okay with trading your ship for sinking one or two of their ships.
