1. I've had some moments where the steering keys don't seem to respond, but these are very rare. Therefore I can't think of a clear reason, but it might be that the 'auto-steering' (when you're close to islands) messes something up, as the few times I had this happen, I was sailing close to some islands. 2. There are only 2 T7 cruisers with radar, and they're both premium: the Atlanta and the Indianapolis. Since these ships are not as common as regular (non-radar) ships, I don't see a problem with it. If the enemy has ships with radar, it's better (as a DD) to just avoid that area for a while. Also: hydro has its advantages, but radar is a lot better to detect ships (for a short amount of time) as it has a much longer range. 3. DDs are prone to incapacitations, but I've never lost my steering due to a hit at the bow area. Are you sure it was that shell that knocked out your steering, and not one that hit you at the stern area? But it could have happened due to lag, as Xevious_Red mentioned, or maybe due to an AP shell passing through the length of your ship (entering at the bow and exiting at the stern, damaging the steering). First thought you meant OP but you are him Such a childish reply. xXx_Blogis_xXx might actually be right about you being a whiny DD player. You still haven't answered his question though:

.. how do you pop smoke? You have to slow down anyway if you want to stay in the smokescreen once it's complete. And sailing slower than 12.5 knots is not impossible at all. You can use the W and S button to increase and decrease the engine power; sailing at 1/4 engine power should put your speed below 12.5 knots. Once the smokescreen is complete you just sail backwards and forwards in the smokescreen; you won't get spotted as long as you stay in the smokescreen, no matter what speed you're going (you can get spotted in a smokescreen by Radar or Hydro though.. I recommend to achieve some situational awareness about where the radar ships are)

So you're a bot yourself in half of your games? Explains a lot.

Have anyone seen anything like this victory?

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Everyone on my team seems to be bad at this game ot: 1v1, nearly full health Colorado (me) vs full health Konigsberg he sailed broadside on the entire time, but it still took me 6 (!) salvoes to kill him, because I only got overpens even when my shells hit the citadel area, I still got overpens (or no damage penetrations ) the biggest mistake the Konigsberg made, was changing course and sailing straight towards me the next salvo: 2 citadel hits through the front, Konigsberg deleted the same thing happened vs a Cleveland, Yorck and Hipper is their armour so weak you've got a better chance getting citadels from the bow or stern than from the broadside? -
Why battleships have a huge disadvantage. WASD hack kidding me?

right there's always a risk in capping a base (I assume in Domination); who knows which enemy DDs are also coming to cap that base? if you're in a IJN DD and the enemy is a USN or RU DD, you're done for if you can't escape (and escaping is not as easy as you make it seem) if you're in a USN or RU DD and the enemy is a IJN DD, you can and will wreck him (if he can't escape) USN DDs always had a lower risk to cap; they're just too powerful vs a IJN DD especially at T10, where the concealment of the Gearing and Shima is the same (i.e. they will spot each other at the same distance), the Gearing simply wrecks the Shima the only time you have no risk to cap a base with a IJN DD, is when there's no enemy ships (DDs) coming for it. But then again, this is a no risk situation for all DDs, no matter the nation. -
what were you sailing? a T8 ship? how weird that a T10 CV can delete a T8 ship.. so OP nerf CV and buff AA !

Carriers are OP, Battleships are OP, Cruisers are OP, Destroyers are OP
lup3s replied to Ectar_'s topic in General Discussion
can't really tell without a replay if your aim is good; but BBs suffer a big shell dispersion anyway (usually, lower tier = bigger dispersion) at ~10km you should reliably get citadel hits if you aim correctly citadel hits at near max range are more luck than skill imo -
t10 games are sub-par compared to lower tiers - issues
lup3s replied to viceadmiral123's topic in General Discussion
apparently players at T10 still haven't learned to check where to fire torpedoes.. ate 2 Hindenburg torps in one match (2 different ships; one of them his torpedoes wouldn't even have reached the target ) -

.. so many campers why play if you don't want to win? just waiting for the enemy to finish off your DDs.. capture the remaining bases.. and win halfway through the battle because they reached 1000.. Domination; I wonder if some players even know the basics of this game mode. -
but .. but .. extra damage .. fast kill .. But I understand the frustration it can bring when you get detonated, and likewise the 'pity' when you detonate someone. Though I must admit I don't get detonated often, so I really don't get frustrated by it, and I don't feel sorry when detonating / devastating an enemy ship; I think it's quite hilarious Everyone can have his own opinion of course
-
why not? OHKs are always funny
-
because it's funny to see it happen?
-
I don't think Detonations are such a big problem in the game. Currently I have 18 Detonation Achievements over a total of 2537 games played (657 as DD). I usually don't use the Detonation signal (unless I just got 10 ) (worst case) if I only got detonated in DDs, it happened once in ~36 matches played but as I can remember also being detonated in CAs and BBs, the number of matches per detonation is probably higher; I don't experience Detonations as a problem; certain aspects of WoWs are much much more frustrating
-
this might actually be one of the most frustrating things in the game spotting a low health DD but no one shooting it
-
I remember being quite fond of the Umikaze's or Wakatake's guns. Can't remember which one though.
-
I simply adored the Omaha. I didn't even use the C hull because of the loss of turrets and torpedo launchers.

Hey WG, do something about MM for the love of god(s)
lup3s replied to Pajosaurus's topic in General Discussion
It kind of is, come to think of it. I'm surely not helping And I do hope some changes will be made, I really liked playing the ARP BBs and T5 cruisers. -

tbh I did get a reasonable amount of T3-T5 or T4-T6 matches before the patch. now it's just.. bad I stopped playing my T5 and T6 ships. The MM for T8 ships is also bad (or I'm just extremely unlucky the past couple of months), but I want to get to T10 so can't stop playing them -

Managed to damage almost 95% of the total HP on the enemy team. In a 3v3 battle (57063 damage out of 60200 total HP) Of course the destroyer and cruiser on my team died as soon as they were spotted by the enemy. My planes hadn't even reached the enemy ships yet and it was already 1v3. -
I'd also like the option the skip the Bastion game mode. Every time I've played Bastion, one team completely dominated the other. (i.e. no ships or very few lost)

5.9: Tier 5 ships are a pain to grind now (bottom tier every game)
lup3s replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
T5 doesn't have a chance of being middle tier now .. battle is either: T4-T5 (top) T5-T6 (bottom; narrow spread) T5-T6-T7 (bottom; normal spread) -
truth ot: CVs don't ruin games, bad players do (in any ship) :edit: I must agree that, if the skill difference between opposing CV players is too high, the team with the better CV player starts the game with an advantage HOWEVER, the CV is just one ship in the team, and even a very good CV player will have a difficult time carrying a potato team e.g. I've had multiple games with Strike Bogue where I sniped the enemy CV at the start of the game and still lost because the enemy team was better than mine. Or games with Independence (stock) / Ryujo, where I dominated the skies and dealt loads of damage, where I could keep enemy DDs spotted because the enemy CV was no real threat, and still lost because the enemy team was a lot better than mine.. Not to mention the games with Hosho or Langley where you shoot down all enemy planes, get the Confederate and High Caliber achievement, to still lose at the end I find those games far more frustrating than games with a noob allied CV (when sailing another ship), as you did everything in your power as a CV to win, but still lose because the rest of your team are a bunch of potatoes.
-
and again.. why does one team get a T6 division (with no other T6 ships in the game), while the other team gets a T8 division? (needless to say we lost the match) MM "mirroring" works in mysterious ways
-
No, what ruins games are players who don't understand how to win games.
