  1. Had a couple of good and entertaining games tonight, but this one was the best as my team and I were able to turn an almost certain defeat into a victory. Situation: (Domination on the map North) My team was behind on ships due to some early deaths and we only had the A cap; the enemy team had the B, C and D cap. The enemy Yamato-Montana division was bow-tanking in the B cap, while the enemy Bismarck-Tirpitz division was pushing through the C cap (accompanied by the Takao and Khabarovsk). We were able to stop their push; only the Bismarck survived and was able to retreat back north. (at this point each team had the same amount of ships left, but we still lacked caps) The allied Ibuki and I decided to flank the Yamato-Montana division by pushing through the C cap. (during our push the rest of my team were able to sink more enemy ships, without getting sunk themselves) We caught the enemy Montana broadside-on; he took a big hit (~30k) and was sunk moments thereafter. The enemy Yamato could angle himself to me and the Ibuki, but we were able to close the distance and finish him off in a close quarters combat. It didn't take long before we located their last Destroyer and sunk it too. Victory!
  2. Met Earl_Of_Northesk (Iowa) on the enemy team. It was my first battle with the Kutuzov, but it wasn't really good; we lost. I also met waxx25 (Emerald) on the enemy team. I was sailing the Belfast but my health got depleted by an enemy Kongo quite early in the battle. I had to play more careful and was still able to do a decent amount of damage; but in the end we lost. Well played, both of you.

I can't really comment on this as I'm not playing the T5 or T6 IJN DDs atm. But I don't think a nerf to their torpedoes was necessary. I'm currently grinding through the Yugumo to get the Shimakaze. Next is the Hatsuharu -again -; not looking forward to it. Kagero 5.4, Yugumo 5.5 (don't know the minimum detection range of the Shimakaze yet). In open sea those few hundred metres do make a difference in my opinion. How so? Will the KM DDs be stealthier than the IJN DDs?

what is their minimum stealth? (only at Benson yet) Sail away towards your fleet, using your back guns?

    - Which I find acceptable because it would be too hard to spot ninja DDs otherwise. - You're not alone on your team; try to ask for support. Usually you should spot gunboats before they spot you. Hidden radar cruisers or being permanently spotted by planes can be frustrating, but it just shows the enemy knows what he's doing. Don't try to sneak up on enemy ships using islands, try to use open waters. - I didn't say the guns on IJN torpedoboats are always better than the guns on other DDs. I said that the guns on IJN torpedoboats are better in certain situations. (pick a fight with USN DD at ~8-9km and see who hits the most shells) I use my guns mostly to deplete the health of enemy DDs, to sink low health ships, or to start fires. But as I said, don't pick gunfights with RU DDs.
  6. I stand corrected. But still, the Long Lances shouldn't have this insane detectability range.
  7. And it's this that bugs me the most; how can (historically speaking) USN torpedoes be stealthier than the Long Lances?

Stealth is still a great mechanic; mainly used to spot other DDs before you get spotted (at the start of the game) and to keep other ship types spotted (at later stages of the game). It's also a great advantage to sneak around and capture bases like true ninjas. You do have to know your enemies; if a single radar cruiser is in radar range, you don't smoke up but wait for him to use his radar (it doesn't last that long anyway). Taking some damage is not that bad if you can force an enemy DD to use (/ waste) his smoke or an enemy CA (or Missouri) to use his radar. HAS is a little different as it lasts a lot longer and you can't tell the difference if you're spotted by radar or HAS; but a quick look at the minimap should teach you enough about which ship(s) are spotting you (and if it's radar or HAS that's spotting you). HAS makes it more difficult to ambush ships behind islands, but if you play it smart you shouldn't have that much trouble with it. If enemies play together and coordinate the use of their radar / HAS, you'll have a very difficult time to efficiently sneak up on them; in this case you have to alter your gameplay and try to go around to capture some bases, or keep those enemies spotted just outside of their HAS (/ radar) range. Radar is little more annoying as it has longer range, but on the other side it doesn't last as long as HAS. Btw, any (smart) enemies that play together are hard to deal with, regardless of the type of ship you play. The guns on IJN torpedoboats have a very good shell trajectory and are far easier to score hits with than with e.g. the guns on USN gunboats. The HE shells of IJN torpedoboats (usually) hit harder than those of other DDs (e.g. IJN gunboats or USN gunboats). Use your guns when you're at a range where you can consistently score hits and the enemy has more trouble hitting you. I.e. use your guns when the opportunity presents itself (e.g. finishing low health enemies or at medium gun range). Don't pick fights with RU / IJN gunboats unless you can finish them off quickly. Don't pick fights with USN gunboats at close range. It's difficult to say that the guns on IJN DDs are on par with other nations, as it depends entirely on the type of confrontation. I don't have that much experience with the guns on IJN gunboats, so I can't really comment on that.

haha never saw this one saved! OT: IJN DDs are still the stealthiest. F3 torpedoes are frigging amazing. IJN DDs are still the stealthiest. Guns have been improved in my experience (higher RoF; barely notice the lower damage). IJN DDs are still the stealthiest. There are even IJN gunboats now! (and they seem to be on par with the USN gunboats) .... IJN DDs are still the stealthiest.

    Supertest is Opening the Gates

I don't really know why you would say this because I've played about the same amount of battles as you.. ot: I'm actually still very curious to know if I just got unlucky or made a mistake. If I know I got unlucky then I'll just have to deal with it. If I know I made a mistake then I'll have to learn from it. Like I mentioned before, I want to learn from my mistakes as it's otherwise useless to make them.

I'm done with "Try my luck"

127x "Try your luck" -> 2 supercontainers the last one was at try #29.. so almost 100 TYLs without an SC some people are just born lucky.. congratulations anyway

Time to sell those worthless Signal Flags

These flags are from useless. The 'flooding-flag' I use on CVs. The 'fire-flags' I use on DDs and CA/CLs. Those 2% extra fire chance are especially useful on CA/CLs with a low basic fire chance (e.g. Yorck, New Orleans ...). Or increase your Mogami's / Takao's fire chance to 22%
  13. I've met a couple of players with lots of 'game experience' who had ~35% WR (one of them with 6k+ battles played, another one with ~2k battles played). I thought this wasn't even possible, as I thought you have to contribute to the battle and deliberately force your team to lose to get such a bad WR.

Games since the past 2 weeks ..

No, I play solo ~90% of the time. (only recently started playing more in divisions; but in that game I was playing solo) "should have, would have, could have"; I'll just have to remember to save those replays (and screenshots) next time.

True, so I won't mention it any more. I should probably save those replays and screenshots in future events.

I know. I never have the need or intention to name & shame; but this just really ground / grinds my gears.
  17. Why? I already got the Nachi over a month now. Not my problem you can't kill RU ships. But it is my problem if players like you throw away victories because they're too focussed on a single kill.
  18. Met Z_OnkelE in his Shinonome on my team. I didn't really see how his battle went as he was on the other side of the map; but our team did good

Games since the past 2 weeks ..

I don't have the replay any more as I delete all my replays at the end of the week. I only have a screenshot of his name (added to my blacklist-folder) to remember it; so I can report him any time I meet him in-game.
  20. Seems like we found one of those brain-dead morons that don't play to win a battle but rather lose it to get a single RU kill. And seriously, how hard can it be to get those RU kills? Yesterday I again got 4 or 5 RU kills, without even trying or focussing them. I probably could've completed the Nachi mission 3 times by now.
  21. This mission causes a lot of players to have a serious brain malfunction.. Too many times I see multiple players chasing a single RU ship to get that kill, throwing away the battle (and possible victory). I wish I had more reports & compliments I could give out per day.

Or how about players deliberately damaging / killing allied ships "because they stole his damage".

Some of the chosen applicants have less than 10 forum posts.. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for all of those that got chosen; I'm just unhappy that I didn't, but I guess that's the way of life. Also, there's no point in making mistakes if you can't learn from them (because you don't know what your mistakes were).
  24. It was an evening with ups and downs; certain battles (and players) really tested my patience and I had to restrain myself from raging in chat or bashing my laptop to smithereens out of pure frustration and anger. 1. Always entertaining to rush forward in the Scharnhorst, wreaking any Cruiser in sight. My battle was hard-fought but short-lived. 2.Almost got the Solo Warrior achievement with the Benson in a TX battle. I played rather careful, but I did wreck a broadside Minotaur with my tiny AP shells (10 citadel hits ). 3. Lost a match because 5 brain-dead morons on my team decided to chase a Tashkent to the corner of the map; "because Nachi mission". At least I was able to get the Witherer achievement while defending the B cap.
