  1. Just Belfast things. Held my flank (alone with a Graf Spee) against 6 enemy ships. These I couldn't carry good enough.

    Blyskawica captain skills?

PT or PM as 1-point skill? I can't seem to decide which one is better.
  5. Or how about a skill that increases the range of HAS and Radar, but at a cost of one less charge and less duration?

    Inertia Fuse HE Shells

Does anyone have the coloured table with IFHE penetration v calibre of gun? (the colours had to do with deck and hull armour, and superstructure of CA/CLs and BBs) It was posted during PT phase 2 but can't find it

IFHS - FP - RL/RPF/RDF testing in progress

In my opinion, AP does matter against broadside BBs. I've tested this skill on the PTS; I won't use HEAP on 203s, but I will use it on most of my 152s and 127s (if I can spare the skill points). I don't know about the 220s of the Moskva though... Played it too few on the PTS to get a good opinion and on the live server I'm only at the Buddy.

This is just stupid. But at least the 203s still have the fire chance and AP pen going for them.

  13. Sailing the Atlanta; I was the only T7 cruiser in a T9 battle. But it posed no problem. That same battle I got ambushed by a Yugumo. I dodged all his torpedoes and the Yugumo regretted to have ambushed an Atlanta. Sailing the Gremyashchy; I got some "devilish" RNG. My second game in the Saipan; it went quite good.
  14. I had the luxury of having Ubertron_X on my team. It was a T9 battle, I was sailing my Atlanta and he was sailing his Leberecht Maass. It was a good battle. And I did an amazing torpedo beat! A Yugumo appeared at ~2 km from behind an island and I dodged all his torpedoes!
  15. That's a load of damage! Too bad he couldn't reach 400k. But I was quite annoyed by all that scrolling... As mentioned in the post above:

    About Cruisers

Citadel damage can be repaired (be at a lower percentage than fire damage). [quote name= Note that not all damage can be 100% repaired. The Repair Party consumable restores: Up to 10% of citadel damage for battleships. Up to 30% of citadel damage for cruisers. Up to 50% of damage from regular armor-piercing penetrations for all ship types (60% for British battleship Warspite). 100% of all fire, flood, ramming, and over-penetration damage for all ship types.

    Kirov, the tinfoil ship

I'm only at the Kirov myself so I can't really compare. At the start of the battle, don't rush forwards. Try to avoid enemy battleships if possible, but don't remove yourself from the battle! Use islands or smoke screens as cover. Use the range and accuracy of your guns to engage enemy ships at long range. Your shells have a flat flight arc, so you can reliably engage destroyers and cruisers at medium to long range. At long range I'd recommend using HE. However, if you spot a broadside cruiser (and you're confident you'll hit him); you can try to switch to AP and you might get those juicy citadel hits. At medium range it depends: I'd still use HE against destroyers and battleships (unless he's already burning on different locations); against cruisers you should use AP. You can hit the citadel of other T5 cruisers through the bow, and broadside on you'll just wreck them. At close range you still use HE against destroyers and angled battleships; use AP against cruisers and broadside battleships. But I would avoid getting in close range; in my opinion this ship excels in fighting at medium to long range. You can of course always try to rush an enemy ship with your torpedoes, but make sure to not fire them too early. The strength of this ship is its AP shells and their flat flight arcs. Your HE shells have a decent fire chance so you can use them to burn enemy battleships. Btw, the Kirov has a nice turret layout with two turrets in the front; a big part of the time I find myself bow-on (using my front guns), sailing at 1/4-1/2 speed or reversing.

    Another CV rant....

You're sure you're not talking about the 'casual' BB players? OT: In my opinion, if two opposing players in the same ship class have the same skill, the end result is usually decided by the player with the better ship. But this doesn't necessarily make this ship class OP. Some examples out of personal experience: - Yesterday I was playing a T10 battle in a T8 division (me in the Kutuzov, division mate in the Amagi). Even before the battle started we were quite sure our team would lose as the statistics of the enemy Hakuryu player are A LOT better than our Midway player. At the start of the battle we told our team to stick together, capture one of the outer base and then move to the central base. Apart from some ships, our team formed a tight fleet. Those few 'solo warriors' got sunk easily and quickly, but the enemy Hakuryu could barely touch the ships in our fleet: an allied Donskoi and I were timing our Defensive AA, and if both were unavailable we still had plenty of other ships to provide AA support (most notably an allied Minotaur and Iowa). We captured a second base, sunk most of their ships, and won by points... Even though the enemy team had a much better CV player in the better T10 CV, it was our teamwork that decided the outcome of the battle. Teamwork is OP. - Some days ago I was alone in my Yugumo against a 2-player Fletcher division. I spotted them early in the battle and as soon as they got spotted they stopped moving and smoked up. I launched my F3s into their (very small) smokescreen and sank both of them. The rest of the game I was free to do what I want as there was no enemy CV to spot me (I just had to avoid a single radar ship). I could safely spot enemy ships, do a torpedo run, and capture (some of) the bases... This didn't mean the Yugumo is stronger than the Fletcher, it was the (lack of) skill of those players that decided the outcome of the battle. If anything, the Fletcher is considered far stronger than the Yugumo in nearly every aspect (guns, torpedoes, ability to contest & capture bases). - In another game, both teams had one Missouri and no other radar ships. The one on our team was sitting still at the border of the map being utterly useless. The one on the enemy team pushed up with his DDs and some other ships (using smokescreens as cover), providing fire and Radar support. Needless to say the battle was lost rather quickly... It was their teamwork and the skill of that player in the Missouri that decided the outcome of the battle. Btw, that Missouri player on our team has played only ~600 battles. WTF!? I still can't grasp it. TLDR: - If one of the players is much better than the other, his impact on the battle will be much bigger; but this doesn't necessarily make his specific ship (class) OP. - Teamwork is OP.
