I was there too TheIdesOfMarch93 played very well in his Yamato! At last a BB player that doesn't snipe from max range or rush forward to be spammed to death, but sits just at that comfortable range to aid his teammates. -
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the penetration value has to be higher than the armour value? e.g. if you're HE penetration is 50mm and the armour is 50mm, the HE will shatter and not penetrate

The stupid thing about Clear Sky is that you need to shoot down at least half of the enemies' planes. Kaga has 85 planes, Ryujo 48; which already gives 133 planes of the CVs alone. Add all the catapult aircraft and you'll reach more than 150 in this game. :edit: Btw, if someone takes the "double catapult aircraft" skill on his captain, and he has 5 charges; does this counts as 5 or 10 planes towards the total amount of enemy planes? :edit2: Apparently there's some kind of bug with the statistics; because if I look at my stats with the Hiryu, it says that the maximum amount of planes I've shot down in a single battle is 74 in stead of 75.

Saipan vs 2 Kaga's - the Kaga on my team was more a distraction to the enemy then anything else Got to love strafing out and in dogfights Not really that many plane kills but the 4 enemy fighter squadrons occupied a lot of my attention.

It's also boring that, in the majority of the battles, nearly half the team are Battleships. I don't have anything against the Royal Navy getting Battleships in this game, but I'd rather see it happen if the meta wasn't so Battleship-heavy.

I just re-watched the replay. He was alive for over 12 minutes (but he seemed to have gone AFK after only 3 minutes because I didn't have any fighters - which somehow made me the "IDIOT" ). At one moment my team was 2 vs 4, luckily the Independence's fighters had a hard time killing off my 3 DB squadrons. -
more BBs like there aren't enough already

Most XP of both teams. All the BBs on my team are on the bottom. 2 things you need to win; good DD players and good BB players.

HIryu (T7 CV) has the same TBs (T6 planes) as the Zuiho (T5 CV). One of the reasons why I really detested playing the Hiryu. Totally agree with you; same with his IFHE videos. btw, on #2 (sniping), it was the only viable tactic to do with strike Ranger vs Hiryu or Saipan (sadly) Made me look up my average damage with CVs (don't have the Kaga yet). Ranger tops it with ~106k avg dmg. Saipan and Hiryu are about the same (~72k and ~74k avg dmg). I blame the "low" average damage with Hiryu solely on these freaking useless Zuiho TBs.

"BB accuracy" with Izumo. Playing with 2 CVs is a pain, especially when you're in a strike Ranger, especially when your allied CV is worthless. The Ryujo on my team got 68 XP, on a victory! I was alone (in 0-1-3 Ranger) against a 1-1-1 Independence and 2-2-2 Hiryu. I knew it was going to be tough, so I had to be patient and bait the enemy fighters. Sacrifices were made. Some teams are just (nearly) impossible to carry. At least I know I tried: most base XP (of both teams) on a defeat. Tanking like a boss with the Gneisenau. Little more than 3.2M damage tanked, one of my highest scores ever. -
So you're one of those BBs that fires HE... If you need fire damage, why don't you play a cruiser like the Cleveland or the Budyonny?

Multiple times I've played against a Kaga and each time I had no few problems. (One time I was in a strike Ranger and sniped the Kaga asap.) My best game was with the Hiryu vs a Kaga and a Ryujo. The Ryujo on my team got sunk ~3 minutes in the battle so it basically was 1 vs 2. Of course I realize that these CV players might not have been that good; and if I would meet an equal or better CV player the Kaga might be (a lot of) trouble.

Kongo and Prinz Eugen are also amazing (together with some others). But none can beat the waifu-level of Takao imo *both Takaos but the Arpeggio one has my favour

Greatest achievement? Being 2nd on my team with 0 damage done. RNG fucked me with enemy TBs Next game was better -luckily-. If I had premium account I would have gotten 52k captain XP! -
Entirely correct, but I was quite able to snipe the enemy CV most of the time. After 40 games I have ~106k average damage with the strike Ranger. For comparison, with the Hiryu I have ~74k average damage after 40 games. Too bad my last 5-6 games with her were a loss (I was sailing the 1-1-1 loadout to get plane kills for that mission). Seems like I was better off with strike than with balanced. Balanced loadout just lacked damage potential with only 2 bomber squadrons (and the one fighter squadron doesn't really help if most other CVs have 2 fighter squadrons).
