Extra consumable for Yamato, and maybe Montana
lup3s replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
Yamato could get her old heal back -
Broadside ships should be punished though .. I thought this "bug" was actually quite good Promotes proper play (i.e. angling) and punishes mistakes (i.e. broadside)...
-
You called?
-
Probably because CVs tend to stay away from Clevelands
-
BF1942, BF2, and BF2142 had a commander role as well; and it was actually quite good imo (don't know how it was in BF4). No idea why EA left it out of BF3 though... but then again EA f'ed up their whole BF franchise after BF3 imo - catering too much to the lowest skilled players. OT: I don't think such a commander role would really benefit WoWs. After all you're on TS anyway in CBs.
-
You forgot the "sometimes" in your first sentence ;) Sometimes your team is so bad that even a triple unicum division -with CV- can't carry (let alone playing solo) - unlike WoT where you can have 1v5-6-7 situations and still win because you're a) top tier and b) have a brain that works. Playing against a competent CV is difficult (no matter what class you're in), and you depend on your team to be at least somewhat competent to make it through :) Which is my point; if there's a CV in the battle, players should instinctively play more as a team (sadly the key word in that sentence being should).
-
That's a bit rude, Morten is a very good player, someone I'd always prefer to have on my team ... and I understand his frustration. DDs suffer the most of a skill imbalance between teams' CVs
-
Groups of 3-4 ships are usually enough to make me think twice before attacking them with my planes - especially if there's (at least) one AA ship among them. And with 3 groups of ships (or 2 larger groups of ships) you can still maintain map control.
-
Biggest counter against CVs is playing as a team - probably the reason why so many players think CVs are broken / overpowered. Although I do think all CVs should get +1/-1 MM (when playing solo). Better for both non-CVs and CVs.
-
I'm getting tired of (multiple) ships sailing off alone when there are CVs in the battle .. they are easy targets and (usually) the most difficult to cover because they (usually) are on the map border..
-
Best way to deal with a good CV player is to play as a team. Lost count of the number of battles where I dominated the enemy CV and tried everything I could to help my team, but still lost. Even had a battle against an AFK CV that I lost .. all because the enemy team played together and the other players on my team had less brain cells combined than a doorknob.

Afaik bots target the ships with lowest amount of health. Less ships = less guns (& torpedoes). In this regard bots are already better than a lot of players ... e.g. yesterday 3v2 but enemy was leading on points; time was almost up so we needed a kill to win. 40s of battle left and their 2k health Kutuzov gets detected ... I typed they needed to sink iy if we wanted to win, yet all 3 BBs kept shooting the nearly full health Gneisenau ...
-
And if all 3 of them are in the smoke .. who's spotting? You can get as close as you want without being detected... Bonus for the BBs if one of them is a Missouri or a GK (imagine 3 Minotaurs happily sitting in smoke together, spamming that 1 Montana that's taking blind shots at ~13km; but neither the GK nor the other Montana are spotted ... and then a sudden Hydro appears )

You're comparing T9 vs TX... If you want Yamato guns, go play a Yamato If you want your Iowa to have similar gun performance as the Yamato; it should also get the AA and manoeuvrability of the Yamato

Make CAs great again?
-
I voted no. Giving all Cruisers a heal would introduce some balance issues imo.
-
Sometimes I use widespread with RN CLs or Gallant. Sometimes I use widespread with DDs with 3 launchers (e.g. Akatsuki or Shimakaze) when blindly torping a smokescreen (usually 2 narrows next to each other and a widespread over both).
-
Iowa and Missouri already have a unique increased accuracy module..
-
Almost same as I use on my Fletcher (with a decent amount of success). I use engine mod 2 instead of dcm2, and torp reload instead of guns mod 3.
-
Each player has a different experience I liked the Danae more than the Emerald (probably due to the protected MM).
-
To be fair, I think most players didn't fair to well with the Emerals - imo it's the worst ship of the RN CL line and probably the worst ship in the entire game .. But salvation is near! The Leander is a LOT better and the Fiji is a real beast (in my opinion). Do know that RN CLs have thin armour and their citadel is quite easy to hit, so you'll have to play them careful / smart. Positioning is key. RN CLs also don't have HE shells, but SAP shells (semi-armour piercing); very potent against broadside targets but nearly useless against angled targets - they require practice and experience (target picking is important, but again, positioning is key) Starting at the Leander, the RN CLs get a smoke consumable - use this one wisely - smoke screens are a torpedo magnet (try to sync your smoke screen usage with your hydro consumable so you get an early warning of incoming torpedoes). Also, it's not because you're concealed inside a smoke screen that you can't be hit - some players are actually quite good at shooting unspotted ships in a smokescreen, using the muzzle flashes of the ship inside the smoke as an indicator where to aim.

French Battleships : GOD in WOW !!!
lup3s replied to anonym_IWDmAoWWysc1's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I had in my LaGal and Dunkek (latter got HE-"spammed" by 3 Lyons .. not very pleasant ) Exactly this. I've heard of clanmates how unreliable the guns are - yet on the other hand you have 16 of them so some should (probably) always hit. Imo my problem with it, is that due to the large amount of shells and bad dispersion, it's actually difficult to dodge a Lyon's salvo.. -

Tbf if there are 3 Lyons on the enemy team I'd rather not be their target. You can dodge all you want; RNG and shitty dispersion will still make some of those 48 shells hit. -
mind = blown
