  1. @SeaWolf7 DDs are not easy but they also not rocket science. The main rule I go by is never risk your ship. It's not worth dying for a cap, it's not worth dying to sit in a smoke and do 10k more dmg on some BB , it's not worth dying to spot an enemy DD just because someone on your team sitting 15km behind you is nervous about it etc. Feel free to add me in game and I am more than happy to division with you at any tier and show you the ropes. I am not the best DD player but without any false modesty, I am pretty damn good and I love to share the knowledge. Good luck!

    Tier 6 clan battles next

Hey it might be a nostalgic experience for those of us who have been around for a while. Party like it's 2016 and we all just bought shiny new Kutuzovs!

Results of Clan Season IX: Warrior's Path

I think there is a misunderstanding here. I am not WG. Also, with the all the respect in the world, no single player speaks for the whole player base. I am sure that people who enjoy CVs were pretty happy that they could finally play. But again, I am not a WG employee. In fact I am a DD main so my opinions on the interaction between CVs and DDs in the last season of CBs are pretty easy to figure out seeing as I didn't play a single battle. In fact, I think that if you read between the lines a bit, WG clearly wasn't happy either.

Some STs Ruining the Games for Others

OK I am going to close this one down now. We have a reply from WG that it's being looked into and while I like an angry pitchfork mob as much as the next man, any results of their investigation won't be published here anyway. The thread has run its course and is now turning into pointless arguments. Locked.

Results of Clan Season IX: Warrior's Path

Nobody is removing anything as long as it's done in a respectful manner. Just so we're super clear, I think the last season was terrible and I think dropping down to T6 is ad admission of failure from WG. There's a lot of work to be done to make Clan Battles work again. The only reason a post was deleted was because it was insulting. If people cannot express themselves without being insulting then they don't get to express themselves. It's as simple as that. On that note, discussing moderation is also against the rules. So I will edit another post.

Some STs Ruining the Games for Others

For what it's worth I have watched the replay several times now and my interpretation is that the ST in question potatoed. It looks like a mistake to me. It sucks that when the CV makes a mistake the match is basically ruined for his 11 teammates. I've potatoed when I was the only DD and it feels awful. In fact I have potatoed and ate a torp in competitive matches and you legit want to crawl under a rock and live the rest of your life as some sort of insect. But it happens. That's just my interpretation though and I could very well be wrong.

Some STs Ruining the Games for Others

Not posting as mod right now but as a player. I get that maybe some STs misbehaved (I cannot know for sure until I actually saw the replays myself) but some of the best and most try-hard players I know are supertesters. What I am saying is not everyone behaves the same.

  10. That is the point. I think mid-tier cruisers need some help. They are a bit meh at the moment overall. 10s is most likely nowhere near enough to die from full health in a DD. And honestly any DD without a 10pt captain will be very rough because you will get outspotted by people with CE. I don't think radar would really change that. There are two additional arguments for mid-tier radar that are irrefutable though: 1) When you do run into radar at t8, it can feel like a bit of a cliff edge for new players. No radar up to that point and then you might get radared for almost 1 minute. A progressive approach would help DD players get used to radar (on top of making cruisers more relevant at mid tiers). 2) There is no justification for the fact that below t8 the only way to get access to a radar ship is with your wallet. That is an absolute travesty and WG should absolutely be ashamed of that choice.
  11. I had the exact same idea recently when we were talking in the clan Discord about balance. Mid-tier cruisers should have heal and a short duration radar imo. Like 10s duration radar or something like that. DDs don't need anything though. They are already OP at mid-tiers due to the fact that their stealth is a lot more relevant because of the lack of radar.

Where is my final log-in bonus of a day's Premium?

I am going to close this down before it gets really ugly. OP's question has been answered so this thread has ran its course. Locked.
  13. If you want to make an appeal please PM @Tanatoy I literally have no choice but to lock this. Edit: I just want to point out, in case it wasn't already known, that whenever someone complains about moderation and about how they are innocent, mods cannot reply with evidence proving the contrary so take anything you read with a grain of salt.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

Please keep things civil. If there are disagreements you can still be polite about it.
  16. While the topic is interesting, we already have other threads discussing these aspects of the game. We don't need to necro a 2 year old thread. Locked.

    Pan-American Ships

Hello! Sorry but this is the English section of the forum so all posts have to be in English. Locked.
  19. We should have more tutorials and the mechanics of the game should be explained more in-depth. Game mechanics are obscure and not always clear and tooltips leave a lot to be desired for. I want to qualify this by saying that not everyone wants or needs to improve and that's totally fine. However there are very few ways to assist those players who do want to improve. So what can be done? Well I think it falls on WG to make some changes. We as a community can contribute but we need a framework first. Some solutions: - A buddy system. Experienced players volunteer and are automatically added as a friend to new players at random. This would mean that any new player would at least have someone who they can ask questions and get some initial guidance from. - Tooltips. Look, we need more of them and with more details. I just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find where exactly it is explained that HE will do 33% of its dmg on a pen. The only place I found that is the wiki. Which I might not even know it exists because while there is a link to it from the main site, there is not link to it from the game! - More tutorials and the tutorials need to be more in-depth. Stuff like smoke firing penalties, view ranges, minimap settings etc. should be explained in more detail. I should also have an option of "going back to school" at any point in the game and to learn more about the game mechanics. Some great examples of usage of tutorials and in-game help: Civilization's civilopedia. Essentially an encyclopedia of all game-related topics with a handy search function. Total War Attila's wiki/encyclopedia. Same principle but it can be accessed and looks the same from both in game as well as a stand alone web link and every time you right click any unit/building in game the corresponding article is pulled up. America's Army 3 basic training. Around 45 minutes of what it says on the tin: basic training. But at the end of it you pretty much knew everything you needed to in order to be a green recruit. The fact that it's basic doesn't stop it from being very in-depth. Also, in some cases we already have resources for these things. We have videos and articles, they are just hard to find. At the very least having more prominent links would be very good. I want to put some pressure on WG to do something about this as well as ask the community to move toward a more constructive approach to player skill rather than complaining about other players. We need solutions, not complaints. This whole thing was inspired by recently watching a stream from one of my favourite WoT streamers trying his hand again at WoWs. I think watching a highly competitive and experienced WoT player go through trying to figure out the game is incredibly valuable as a source of information on what can be improved. Not only because you see how the streamer is reacting but also their audience. It's essentially qualitative market research playing out live in front of you. It is also very entertaining. I will link just that stream here for reference. I will add any other ideas to this post (and credit their authors). I really want as much constructive feedback and discussion as possible here. Please don't drop by just to make snarky remarks - if you have nothing constructive to say, move on. Edit: I forgot to say that I realise that most things take time and money so I am not expecting miracles.

    General CV related discussions.

I cleaned this thread a bit. Don't try to use stats to dismiss opinions. We just recently had a discussion about stat shaming. Also, in general, be nice and polite and don't start random arguments. As per usual, if your post is gone from this thread take it as a gentle reminder that future violations could be handled more severely.

This is it, i think im done with Wows.

I never know what the point is of these "quitting the game" threads. I've seen them in most games I've played and they are never constructive. I am sorry that OP is not having fun in the game anymore and I wish them the best of luck. Locked.
  24. We all have stories like that. Again, I challenge anyone to find where the dmg is explained for HE shells. I know it's 1/3 on a pen but that is not explained virtually anywhere. I only found it in one spot on the wiki. And I think it might have been explained in one of the how it works videos but I couldn't find it in a reasonable amount of time. This could easily be fixed with simply having a tooltip with that in-game.
  25. I really don't want to get into this because it's not directly related to the thread, but you make a good point so I will briefly address it. While you are absolutely right that it's a failing that the pinned information is not up to date (it was just an oversight), the fact that questions go unanswered is easily explained by the fact that nobody has enough time to go through all the posts on the forum. I have replied there now and then but honestly the other parts of the forum and the reports take up a lot of my available time. Also on the same note, and this goes for everyone, if you do see something on the forum that is outdated or wrong or anything just throw a report at us. It really really helps and we do go though all the reports. For example here, if I wasn't directly involved in this thread, I could have very well missed the perfectly valid point about the outdated information but there's no way I could have missed a report about it.
