  1. The whole cheating accusations thing is weird. On one hand, I know there are some ways to gain an unfair advantage but WG says they detect and ban people who use it. And I actually believe them because they accidentally banned people who were using a purely aesthetic mod that just changed the graphics but to WG it seemed like it had a similar functionality with cheating just because of what files it used. Now the issue is that there are situations that can appear to be cheating. Recently I was on Heaven in a domination battle and the enemy DD was spotted on the north cap (which they owned) right next to the gap in the islands between the two caps. When our cap (south one) started to be contested I shot at the north of the cap circle, right where a DD would have gone if they had passed between the islands between the caps. I hit him and he could not be convinced at all that I wasn't cheating. I tried explaining that he could only be in that area, that he had been spotted going there etc. He was having none of it. He was sure I was cheating. I guess my point is that you won't be able to tell if people are cheating anyway. As far as I know in WoWS none of the cheats that were used in the past gave people information that wasn't on screen anyway. It just made it easier to digest that info and especially to aim.

How to make the Kremlin work?

You are typing in it right now. Class forums tend to be quite popular, yeah.

Tell me witch part of what I said you find confusing, please.

Why are DD's so poor these days.

This thread is from 2019 so you've not missed anything. At least not that I can think of.
  5. I am going to lock this before it devolves any further. @Sigma2 this is an "interesting" suggestion but it won't happen. Also, as others have stated already, your torps = your responsibility. If you continue to do team damage you will eventually get perma-banned. And getting perma-banned in coop really is not a good look so try to avoid it. Don't fire torpedoes if there's a chance to hit allies.

I am not even sure what to do with this necro cause it seems like it's still relevant. Confused.

Poll: Ranked Fun: Tier7 vs Tier8 Sprint

Well they did recently ban reward tanks in WoT ranked so there's definitely some sort of precedent. Reward tanks are gained through the game not bought with actual money though so there's that. I dunno, I guess the simplest solution would be to give some silver ships radar at t7 and call it a day. It's probably the least disruptive solution.

Oh I just thought about a different solution that was mentioned since the dawn of wows time (circa 2016): allow only silver ships in ranked. No special ships, no premiums - just silver. I realise that it's probably not viable cause people buy ships specifically for ranked but it's nice to dream Well we can be opposed to it morally at least. We can let WG know that we dislike that. And again, it's not one or the other. You can absolutely campaign against CVs ever being allowed to see ranked again and also be against P2W stuff. On a related note, I don't even know if it's good or bad that ships like Belfast and Musashi are not on sale anymore (thinking about ranked). On one hand people that have them do have an advantage so I feel like everyone should be able to get them... but if everyone would get them then we'd be back to square one on the whole buying power issue. I am not sure what I think about that because you could argue either way.

Oh that - I seem to remember something about that. Is it still available now though? I bought mine a long time ago so I certainly flashed my wallet for that t7 radar.

Poll: Ranked Fun: Tier7 vs Tier8 Sprint

I think I may have mentioned in a different topic that I think all cruisers t6 and above should get heal and the appropriate ones (Russian and American) should get short duration radar from t6 too. So I would absolutely do what @Allied_Winter suggests and add radar to both the New Orleans and the Schchchoorchshs. I think that DDs are Op at mid/low tiers and cruisers are UP. I guess you could get Indy without paying through a campaign or something. Is this the point you are making? Cause I bought the Indianapolis when it was released and I certainly paid for it. Am I missing any silver radar ships?

That's a different discussion altogether (whether you personally care or the amount of radar at t7 etc.). The only point I am making is that giving radar only to people who pay is wrong. I feel quite strongly about this which is why I keep mentioning this. It skewed the whole ranked season.

Point still stands. I am shocked you fail to understand this. You can get a CV without spending a single euro/dollar/franc/soul of unborn child. You cannot get a radar ship at t7 without spending at least one euro/dollar/franc/soul of unborn child. Why would you defend that practice? They are not even mutually exclusive. Like you can dislike playing against CVs but also understand that putting radar behind a paywall at t7 is really bad.

Poll: Ranked Fun: Tier7 vs Tier8 Sprint

I cannot stress this enough and I will repeat it until it gets through, we, as a community, should not accept or consider acceptable the fact that at tier 7 the only way to access radar ships was through our wallets (Atlanta Indy and Belfast). That's the only real instance that I can think of in this game of P2W. We can argue about relative ship strengths and how strong premium ships are but there is no justification for not having any silver radar. As such t7 was a farce and it should be considered an anomaly.

  16. I can't remember if the Kagero can do it but the Yugumo can definitely equip torpedo reload booster. Here's my advice: don't. WG is crazy to even give the option for people to give up smoke altogether. Especially ships as squishy and slow as the Yugumo.

The Worst Person I've Yet Seen In This Game

Naming and shaming is against the rules. This article outlines how to report a player. Since OP has only 3 posts I will assume ignorance of the rules rather than malice but this is the only time that will be the case. @KosmicRavioli I would strongly suggest you familiarise yourself with the rules. Thread is locked.
  18. Let me qualify what I said cause it seems to have rubbed some folk the wrong way and that was not my intention. I am sorry if I caused offence. I expressed myself poorly and it sounds elitist due to my own laziness and poor choice of words. I don't think people should be ignored based on WR. What I am saying is that I think it's important to know the qualifications of someone giving advice. That's not to say that people should be ignored but that it is important to know what the source of the information is. In fact just above @Verblonde gave brilliant advice and I would absolutely listen to that. Everything he/she says here was spot on and well thought out. If I were to hazard a guess I would say that even though @Verblonde might not always get the best results, he/she has 5k battles out of with over 3.3k are in DDs which means they can recognise good performance/results. Now would I take his/her advice on a specific DD over some super unicum with the same number of games? Probably not but the aforementioned experience does mean that I will listen to their opinion. However, we have all seen arguments on this forum between someone who is, for lack of a better word, an expert in a ship and someone who has barely played 4 matches in the same ship but already has all sorts of opinions. And a new player can get really bad information if they are not careful.
  19. I am not sure what you mean. You make money by playing well. Especially if you stay alive long enough to have a considerable influence on the match. I am not sure what else I can explain. T8 in particular is not very expensive. If you don't play well you won't make a lot of money at lower tiers either.
  20. T10 might be somewhat difficult but t8 and t9 can make money relatively easily.
  21. Yeah, that's what I mean. What I am saying in an admittedly roundabout way is that I see DDs dying for a cap all the time when it's simply not worth it. When I play my Kitakaze, I am always shocked when I find some EU DD contesting me for a cap without any support behind them whatsoever. It's such a bad idea. Instead if they would just let me have the cap and then get bored and move on, they would get the cap for free. Play to your strengths and stay safe.
  22. I sort of include that in the getting kills/forcing kills category. And I would still prioritise killing an enemy over fighting for a cap. I can get the cap after and my team would still have more points.
  23. I didn't mean you in particular. It was a general comment. I hadn't even read your comments. The only thing I would point as being incorrect is that you cannot make money at high tiers. You absolutely can so you don't need to farm lower tiers. But overall I think your advice was generally sound.
  24. You are supposed to do dmg in a DD. I don't understand where this notion that DDs are meant to just spot and cap came from. This isn't WoT so damage matters a lot. DDs are absolutely supposed to do damage. In fact, sometimes you want to emphasise damage at the expense of spotting or capping. Learning how and when to do damage is an integral part of what it means to be a good DD player. Also compare the points you get for a kill vs how much time it would take to get the same number of points from a cap and you will see why the game rewards damage the way it does. Not saying it's perfect and I do think spotting should be more rewarding, but capping is absolutely secondary for a DD. The priority is stay alive -> get kill or force kills -> spot -> cap.
  25. @SeaWolf7 one thing that I would suggest unrelated to DDs in particular, is take the time to check the stats of people who give you advice. Everyone has opinions but you don't might not want to be taking pointers from someone who gets 50% WR (Edit: or worse) in their DDs. Edit: That's not to say you should ignore but rather to know the source of information in order to qualify their opinion. Then you have people who say things that are simply not true (e.g. "I get X% WR so I am good" and when you check they have played 5 battles in the past month in that class). Wows Numbers is pretty good for checking stats. And you can filter on different classes, different time periods etc. Make sure you are not wasting your time or worse learning from people who have no business giving advice. It can end up actually making you a worse player. All I am saying is not everyone who has an opinion can back it up with performance so you might want to take what you read with a pinch of salt. That's not to say they cannot be correct but it's just safer to go with the experts rather than people with opinions and not much else. Edited for clarity
