If it's the match I think you're talking about, we were crap. Scared your Yamatos but the cyclone sort totally screwed us over as we couldn't gauge the threat heading our way (Atago, Moskva, Gearing - you, Benson and another CA) and 2 of us were on less than half health. I am starting to dislike that storm/cyclone thing and it will be especially horrible next patch when radar will ignore it. -

lol. I didn't vote because it's pointless and doesn't change anything but I love how you decided that anyone disagreeing with you should go to an oppressive dictatorship while in the same breath saying that you're defending his freedom of speech. -

Check out this scrublord.Only plays CV. This other scrub mostly plays CA. Good point OP, "force" people to play the way you think they should as you are obviously a good player that understands the intricacies of the game and you perform well as a result of the diversity of class you play. -
He means it looks like you haven't played a single match which might mean that there's a chance you are trolling.

Totally agree. That's one of the main reasons I am sort of not playing the ship atm. And when you do lose a turret (and you will) you lose 33% of your firepower and if it's a frontal turret you also have to show a considerable amount of broadside which gets you killed much quicker. My damn Gearing turrets seem tougher than the DM ones now lol.

You cannot blame WG for not spending your diamonds until the deadline. Contests have to end at some point. The whole damn world operates to timelines. You can't apply to uni if the window has closed. You can't catch a train if you don't go to the station before it leaves etc. Not trying to be patronising but there are deadlines for everything and if you miss them it's your own fault.

I was thinking, there's one advantage that the Zao does have. For me at least it doesn't seem to lose turrets as often. And in the DM when you lose a turret it REALLY hurts your play. I regularly aim for the turrets when brawling against DM in my Hindenburg.

I don't think the Zao will have enough time to do anything (at least in my experience). The difference in detection is just 0.9km. You don't really have time to do anything. You might have a chance to start turning, that's about it.

While I agree with the sentiment and I would love a limit (I would say 2 tiers though), I can't say I see this as a massive issue. I think I see something like 1 fail division every 2 days or so at most. And even then it's usually not like tier 2 and tier 10, it's mostly like Tirpitz+Molotov division end up in a tier 10 match.

Re brawling, Against a DM yes, probably. Not sure about brawling against a Hindi though. Hindi can't out dps it with HE and if the Zao stays angled, AP is useless. Am I missing something?

I do feel like the penetration should be improved slightly. But if they overdo it, KM CAs will be shot-gunning everything

It's one of the few things that make Cruisers sort of (and I can't stress enough how "sort of" this is) counter DDs. Hydro counters the torps not the DDs themselves (apart from german Hydro when pushing a DD in smoke). I recently screwed up in my Fletcher, got to 7 km from a DM, he radar'd me, I lived on 2k hp after 5 ships were shooting at me, and I was still able to torp his BBs like crazy once it ended. Working as intended and a good addition.

FFS dude, could you not just drop it? I mean people have tried to explain that this whole thread is toxic and pointless and you decided to reply with more toxicity? What the hell is wrong with you. Just effin drop it. It's done, over, gone, finished. It was a bad thread to begin with and you're just making it worse. There is nothing to gain here - neither side of the argument came out looking like winners. Can we not get a mod to close this/delete it?

The Dmitri really doesn't turn like a Yamato. The Shchors and the Chepayev actually do but the Dmitri is just as manoeuvrable as tier X cruisers. Its detectability is awful. Not as bad as the Moskva's though. The guns are what make the russian cruisers stand out - everything else is rather lacklustre.

So balanced Clev is no fun (it was really OP before), Atlanta is a crappy ship at the best of times, Mogami, while not as powerful as the Atago, can hold its own just fine. It still has great HE and a great fire chance. Moskva is, at the moment, dominating the other cruisers in both dmg and win rate (although in the past 2 weeks, Zao has re-claimed the dmg crown but is trailing badly behind in win rate) so I suspect people are focusing Moskvas as otherwise you will lose due to its dmg. I can't play low tier cruisers any more. The firepower is nice but they all feel too vulnerable to me.

Hopefully. I think the main reason why DDs are affected by this issue more than other ships is because even if you are still visible, it's difficult to land shots when you can't target stuff due to aiming and dispersion. However a lot of times DDs are standing still in smoke which makes it less difficult to land shots on them. -

The issue is with what SA uses as its trigger. As I am sure others have said already, there are two things at play here: 1) Detectability 2) Visibility SA is linked to detectability. Once you are undetected, it goes off (as does the overhead target indicator thing with the ship name, health etc. and you can't target the ship anymore) but you are still visible for 3 seconds. This 3s visibility delay is what you guys introduced in 5.5. Before that visibility and detectability seemed to be linked. So yes, detectability probably has not changed in the past few years but visibility has and that's what causing the problems (before ships would blink in and out of view when using smoke for example which would cause SA to go on and off).
