    Something to do with Credits

Nope, not me. I mostly play t8+ with a high emphasis on t10 ships. For me the grind is a massive pain in the derriere. That's partly why I have this issue in the first place. Like I said, I have prem camos on my most played ships and I have a lot of games under my belt. Further, I have enough free xp to get the t10 PanAsia DD the moment it arrives so I won't really spend money through the tree there either.

    You cant escape KARMA

Good God man, use some paragraphs or something. It's super difficult reading that - especially on a mobile. You make some interesting points but getting to them is like mining for diamonds.

    Something to do with Credits

I get that. But the thing is, even without premium, at some point you have all the ships you want/need. And then the credits just start piling up. It's almost impossible to lose money when playing a premium ship. If you get to rank 1 a couple of time and get doubloons like that and then buy a prem camo for your fav ship then you do start earning a lot of cash. Those of us that have been playing for 2 years or so are in that situation specifically because we have nothing left to "grind".

    Pan Asian DDs and Cruisers

Not my job kemosabe. I am just trying to help people here and stop as much misinformation as I can. @Negativvv It is not a choice. PanAsia DDs will have only DW torpedoes. Also, these things mostly have USN DD guns so you can go after other DDs just fine. I rarely fire my torpedoes at other DDs anyway.

the higher the tier the less I enjoy it.

First of all... Secondly, the reason people sometimes enjoy higher tiers less is because the game gets much harder. Anything under t8 is incredibly easy to play/win in the right ship. I especially "like" it when people that roll around with 19 point captains at t5 wax lyrical about the virtues of playing at that tier.

    Player stats don't matter

I tend to only look at someone's performance in the past 60 days or so.

    Pan Asian DDs and Cruisers

Well then - thread closed, problem solved. GG Well done everyone!

    Pan Asian DDs and Cruisers

I will repeat, in case you dudes didn't see my previous post. The only ships that will not be affected by DW torpedoes will be DDs. EVERYTHING else will get hit by them. All cruisers, all BBs and all CVs.

    Pan Asian DDs and Cruisers

DW torpedoes will hit everything apart from DDs.

    Player stats don't matter

10 battles is not nearly enough to be significant. And yes, the very best players in divisions get around 75% win rate. The point I was making is that you still need to be good to win a lot in divisions. Three bad players in a division would arguably make their team worse rather than better.
  11. _Teob_

    Player stats don't matter

I disagree. Even in divisions you still have to be half decent. It's not like a division is an instant "iWin" button. Plus I would argue that playing well in a division is a skill in itself. You need to learn to coordinate and work together. That's basically what people do in competitive.

    Player stats don't matter

I like to think that's not considered stat shaming. That's merely replying to an issue. I mean if someone complains that a ship is terrible and someone points out that their performance in it is sub par that doesn't sound like stat shaming to me. That's... the truth. In that case looking at the stats not only acknowledges the issue but also point out the issue. I see stat shaming as someone telling someone else that they can't have an opinion because of their stats. I genuinely have only seen that like once or twice in two years. People have opinions on this forum all the time without being checked or challenged.

    Player stats don't matter

There is a fundamental misunderstanding on how stats work. Stats just show you a probability of how a person will perform in certain conditions. If someone has a 60%+ win rate both solo and in divisions and in the class (or even ship) that they are playing when you run into them, then there is a high chance that they will play well. But it's still just a high chance. I don't get why people don't understand that. I always hear the whole "well I saw this person with great stats do something really bad". Yes but this is the thing, that was just one of their bad matches. And the fact of the matter is that good players will have fewer bad matches than bad players. That's all there is to it. Everyone makes mistakes. But let's not kid ourselves here. Someone that has a high win rate, consistently does massive damage, has a high number of kills and has played a sufficient number of games is 100% a good player. On a related note, I always see people whining about "stat shamers" but I rarely see anyone bashing anyone else's stats. I do however frequently see players who clearly aren't very good, being aggressive toward any sort of performance in this game and saying stuff like stats don't mean anything, rank 1 doesn't matter etc. I wonder sometimes, if according to some people, performance doesn't mean anything (stats, rank 1 or being in a top-tier clan) then what the hell would a good player look like? The person having the most fun?

What's the use of Last Stand skill?

I have not yet run into an IJN boat that is never spotted. That simply hasn't happened in my games. I do mainly play at t8 and above so maybe that's the reason but most of the time IJN boats get spotted. And when it does get spotted it generally tends to lose at least 25% of its health.

What's the use of Last Stand skill?

Fact of the matter is you will take damage. It's almost unavoidable. And when you are at 50% hp, AR is a free BFT + TAE. And not on that but AR is actually perfect because what usually happens is you fight other DDs at the start of the match, you lose some health then you go on to torpedoing. So having the extra reload on torpedoes is very good.

    AKIZUKI Never Again!

That is just so wrong. I don't have to grind it and it's one of my favorite ships. I didn't even own it before the stealth fire nerf and I still think it's one of the best DDs in the game. It has the best non-premium DD win rate at tier 8 as well (in the past two weeks). The Akizuki is an amazing DD with phenomenal DPM. People either don't know how to play it or how to spec it or a combination of both. I have played 92 battles in it so far and I absolutely love it. Yes, it requires a high level captain. Ideally at least 16pt or so. But once you have that, it's a phenomenal ship. I have Yamamoto in it because of the red rainbow of shells I can make.

[Phoenix] Where are the cannons ?

I have not seen a topic on the Phoenix for at least 2 years. Kudos OP, made me all nostalgic.

What´s the point of the Gearing...

The real reason why SI is useless now is the abundance of radar everywhere and the horrible 11.1 range on the guns. You rarely smoke and shoot anymore. So yeah TAE is indeed the way to go. While I do play and occasionally enjoy the Gearing, I maintain that it's a very rough life for it nowadays. Z52s and Grozos are unpleasant to run into.
  19. That is anything but objective. It was literally all your choice. Your loyalty to your clan is commendable but it's not WG's fault that you decided to act on that loyalty. What I mean is if clan battles would have been at t6, I would have had to spend money and get some t6 ships. I would hate every moment playing at that tier but I would do it. However, I wouldn't consider it to be WGs fault. The fact that you don't see t10 as the ultimate goal is totally arbitrary. That is the end goal of the game. In Diablo 2 a lot of people spent their time farming Mephisto. That wasn't the game's end goal though. So while I get what you're saying, again I don't think it's WGs fault. Yes, it's not for everyone, some people won't like it or won't ave ever bothered getting a t10 ship etc. But that would have been the case with any chosen tier. Someone would have not enjoyed some aspect. T10 makes sense because it's natural progression, it's well balanced and it ensures that people playing have at least some idea of how to play the game. I think the current iteration of Clan Wars is brilliant and I am having a lot of fun. :)

    Magazine Detonation and the Khabarovsk

I always wondered why that's seen as fair. Like again, why is something that affects DDs more than other ships acceptable?
  21. Ran into @Negativvv yesterday in my Fletcher (during one of my worst days in recent history). He seemed to do a very good job at farming my team for damage and in the end got me with a torpedo as well (I was the last one on my team). I was dodging planes desperately at the time though and his 3 team mates taking shots at me as well, in my defense.

    Manual fire control

That's how it works. You press CTRL, your cursor appears and then you left click a ship to select it for your secondaries. You don't need to press X or anything. Edit: You keep CTRL pressed btw. You don't need to have your aiming reticle on the target.

    Manual fire control

No, my result look like this (with the kii as the first result): Also, like I said, this implies that you know there is a wiki. And you'll notice that the result is in commander skills, not in an article by itself. Also, like I pointed out, when you click on the secondaries article, it's empty. A much better representation of the search a normal player would do is this: That doesn't yield any official results. Not even the wiki. But hey you tried to be clever, right? You even did the whole "let me google that for you" despite me clearly stating that I googled it.

    Manual fire control

Apologies then. That particular bit of sarcasm went right over my head. I have seen people argue that all the information is available. Which is a stance I emphatically disagree with.

    Manual fire control

Seriously? If MrConway stated it, it must be true, right? Would you consider iChase a good source of information (I would to a certain extent)? He's not a Community Contributor anymore, for example. Neither is Jingles. And on the topic of Jingles, he's very entertaining but I wouldn't trust everything he says and he was a CC. And then I couldn't find a single video detailing manual fire control. If there is one and it doesn't show up when googling then it's like it's not there. Also where is this list with Community Contributors? I found a list from 2015 that seems to be out of date. So no, community contributors are not really an answer. And as far as the forums, who is a guru? Like when asking a question here, how do you know you're getting the right answer? I've seen so many totally wrong answers that I've lost count. I wouldn't trust random opinions on any game forum. The most reliable source of information on the forums are the supertesters. And even they get it wrong occasionally. And for example, in this thread, we don't have a single supertester answering. It's not their job anyway. That's even assuming you know what a supertester is. If I was new to the game, I am not sure that information is readily available like say a list of what those titles mean. So no, the forums aren't really an answer either. And the fact that we keep having people come to the forum to ask stuff all the time, means that they were unable to find this information readily available. We need tutorials. We need to have all this explained clearly. This game has quite a few complex aspects (like penetration, armor angling, spotting mechanics etc.) that are not simple to understand. What's more, you need to know that they exist in the first place. Like you need to be told that the reason why your HE didn't do any damage was because it didn't penetrate the target's armor. And then HE penetration is 1/6 of your caliber... or 1/4. And there is actually a really good article on the Wiki on this. Just that the Wiki is not mentioned anywhere on the site. Or at least not prominently. So no, despite MrConway stating it, it's simply not true. The game is not well explained and it's difficult to find information. The solution is to have links to the Wiki on both the main site and the forum and expanding on the articles and keeping them up to date. And have a couple of tutorial videos explaining armor angling and smoke mechanics. For example the Secondary Armament topic is empty.
