Yeah so that's basically a win for everybody playing perma-death mode lol Though I am pretty sure... bot players will try it anyway... because of the nice rewards... if they die.. they can still revert back to random mode...

Consider this: Would you rather go up/down/up/down/up/down in rank ? Basically playing the same people who you CAN defeat, and then same people who you CAN'T defeat. It's basically a frustrating and pointless situation. Eventually you will get stuck in a certain RANK GROUP, unable to climb any higher. You might as well simply DIE/SEMI-PERMA-DEATH and prevent yourself from experiencing a lot of frustration ! =D And move on to other things. Also the luck factor is more fun... you could end up luckily destroying a much better player than you ! Or vice versa which can be funny. I am hoping that my idea will be much more fun than ranked. So that was basically your question: what's the point ? My answer would be: more fun ! It also gives an incencitive to have more ships ! That cannot be a bad thing right ?

Yes I have some thoughts on this. One way to potentially fix this is to reward cruisers for "escort roles". I think I already requested cruisers to be rewarded for "escorting carriers". Unfortunately that did not happen and instead carriers now have an AA consumable apperently... Now your fear that CVs will change tactics and start "nuking" BBs is justified greatly ! LOL. So now one could request the "escort role" of cruisers to be expanded to battleships as well, which they should do anyway, since battleships also need some protection from destroyers (sometimes). Unfortunately for you and cruiser players this escort role reward bonus was not (yet?) added to game. This is why cruisers don't give a flying fuk lol. It's a bit sad really... cause without battleships those cruisers will be destroyed by enemy battleships quite fast. Which is actually also an interesting counter argument. If cruiser players don't adept their roles... if they don't start defending battleships better they will quickly find themselfes without battleship support ! A very nasty situation for them ! Perhaps this is the line of thinking of the developers. If cruiser players don't change their way of play they will be punished pretty badly. So perhaps we should wait a while to see if cruiser play changes the coming weeks/months ! ;) =D (Same could ofcourse also be said for carrier players, fighter setups might become a bit more interesting to protect the fleet, though this has always been the case.).

I understand this... this new battle mode should not be available for noobs/low level accounts. This battle mode would be available for "maxed out" accounts... so those that got a bit bored with the game, and already have their ships leveled up to the max can enjoy a new form of entertainment ! ;) =D In other words it gives them something else to strife for then just leveling up their ships. This can make them strife for top ranking spots in return for rewards. Those rewards could then be spent on leveling up new ships a bit faster... Also, even if all ships are obtained and fully levelled up, there will remain the fun of knocking each other out and fame and glory ! =D

I have updated my original posting with new ideas, which happen to benefit you I think... this is exactly the nice thing about this idea... players who "payed" for more ports/slots and additional ship will benefit greatly from this... plenty of oppertunity for you to try and reach top 3 spots ! ;) Unless you already have zillions of credits... well then you could still go for "fame" and also the fun of knocking other people out =D

Pressing F3 I think it was or F4 will play a voice message: "Thank you". With a bit of luck and brain he will know it was probably ment for him/her. At least it's something.

Original poster might be right... however update 0.5.5 seems promising... enough new content, new sounds, new musics, new weather, new maps, new graphics to return to the game for another try of it ! =D How could the game be changed to make it more fun/interesting/more addictive to play lol ? One possible idea could be "perma death", this seems to work in other games. An idea could be that each ship is "re-spawned" in your port only once a month or once a week, or once a day. Once it's dead, it stays dead for that time period ! LOL. I kinda like this idea... gonna search of this idea has been discussed before... then if not going to discuss it ! ;) =D

Very interesting post and picture (Did you produce this picture ? If so how did you produce this picture ?). Anyway if carriers become invincible because of this then some possible solutions: 1. More two vs two carrier games 2. Or open up carrier play to 3 vs 3 carriers or 3. Add submarines, so they can't be bombed and torpedoed by planes and thus have a somewhat larger chance of reaching CV and killing it =D ! ;) But for now let's just wait and see what happens I did not "beta test" carriers in last public test, mostly because I wanted to test other ships and also CV play had some nasty bugs, so I am clueless about these new AA changes ! ;) =D

Updating to round 2, question though: What were the changes to weather from round 1 to round 2 ? I see some mention more dynamic weather ? Is there any new weather type, like perhaps snow ? Also did round 1 not have a night map and round 2 now has a night map ?

I barely noticed any change to sinking animations, so perhaps this is a waste of time. Though that youtube video is very interesting... adding something like that to the game would be awesome =D ! (I did notice, ships rolling over and then sinking, or slowly sinking diagonal, was this the new stuff ?)

Hmm to bad... though I already had plenty of FUN ! =D Most fun I had was with: 1. Japan Yamato X and other battleships like it, it's secondaries are a lot of fun, especially with all maxed out on secondaries/modules/captain skills etc.. lot of fun definetly worth it. 2. All the tier 9 and tier 10 destroyers, awesome. Though the russian ones have a bit reduced torp range though later they can also fire further I think... question of modules or so. 3. Weather was also very interesting, though the music can become a bit annoying, already wrote about that... 4. I also wish the weather lasted a bit shorter, I am not even sure if it stops at all ? It should be periodic.. so it should have a beginning and ending... it doesn't need to last too long.. it doesn't have to be ultra realistic... since a game is just 15 minutes short... a weather of 2 or 3 minutes seems just fine ! (Sorry for what appears to be a double-post, was reacting to what somebody else wrote)

Seems fine to me, it's concealment can be reduced to 5.4 or 5.6 km or something like that... that alone is already a killer feature. It also has 3x5 torpedoes which can all be fired from one side at a maximum speed of 81 knots... pretty much the fastest torpedoes in the game. I myself sunk an iowa and a cruiser both with torps and even hit a DD with cannons all in the matter of one minute or so. (then I did die though ;)) So how you can say this ship is dead is beyond me ?! (Though the public test server's players weren't all that good ;) some probably even noobs.. or playing like they dont care =D or just trying out a new ship) It's probably together with gearing and other high tier destroyers one of the easiest ships to play. Stay away from radar cruisers/russian, though usa seems to have them too... and these DDs will play just fine.

I noticed this red arrow after I died and was spectating different players, it's not about this specific player... it's something else, it was always there while switching players to spectate ? Perhaps it was a warning sign while I was alive of getting shot or danger or something ? In other words: What is it ? (This was during the public test 0.5.5)

Hello, I just played a little game, testing nagato secondary fire power and then the server went down ? Is there a status page somewhere to see when this public test server will be up again ? I think it was supposed to be up for a few days ? Maybe it's a server reset ? Update: It seems it downloaded a small 65 MB update ! Hmmm, it's installing now =D And then a few more little ones, seems localization update. I also noticed a new music in intro/login screen... kinda cool. Bye, Skybuck. P.S.: So far it was a lot of fun testing stuff ! =D

I public test 0.5.5. I did notice that sometimes during the start of the game the turrets of my ship would not fire, though all were green... moving the crosshair lower a bit or elsewhere seemed to solve it. Not sure if this is the same thing/king of bug.

It's probably spotting range... japan carriers can hide more easy and thus fear less from ships ! ;) and seem to be faster too to some degree ! ;) So simply more escaping I guess.

1. Main problem: not enough dabloon to test all ships with re-trained captains... retraining costs 500 dabloons ?! Either lower the cost to 1 or 10 dabloobs, or give me/us more dabloons to test ! I am done to 200+ or so 2. Manual drop graphics is missing on lexington and possibly other carriers. Can't see green trajectory/torp aim. 3. How did team loose or win ? More information about this would be nice in case player exited and want to know later on ? Did time run out ? Did enemy win by reaching 1000 points ? Did team loose because of negative score ? (4. Secondary 3-cannon-turret doesn't rotate/fire on Yamato X ? I already reported this in shell and sink animation... reporting it here too just in case.) 5. Would be nice if player could click on player to spectate him/her instead of having to click many times to get to that person... clicking on the ship could be enough.

The secondary 3-cannon-turret on Yamato X doesn't seem to turn/rotation/animate/fire ? Would be nice if this turret was more active when secondaries are active and such. (I am not completely sure if this is true, but it seemed like it... noticed it when ship sank... secondary 3-cannon-turret was still pointing straight forward ?)
