And how do you know he doesn't care about his team, stuff happens and the pressure is on early in the game before the enemy is spotted with players asking for info and telling DD's to go here and there. How about a credit loss for those players giving out orders that don't work out for the team? Or better still why not knit yourself some little dolls with the players name on that you don't think meets your standards and stick pins in them?
-
How do you imagine that will improve your WR? You both lose the low skill and inexperienced players who you should be farming now, and at the same time you play against people of equal skill and experience so winning will be even harder to achieve.

I think the game would improve exponentially if people tried to be nicer to each other rather than trying to find new ways of being spiteful and vindictive.

buy a container hoping you get what you want is that gambling?

Well if you buy some raffle tickets to support the local donkey sanctuary I doubt they'd have a WG Premium ship as a prize, so honestly just don't do it. -
Seven battles in tier 1, 19 battles in tier 2, you learned quickly grasshopper, now go forward into the world.

Actually you don't need to buy anything, it is only the 'I want it now!' instinct that says you need something or other in a game you voluntarily play. We all want things, and entering a raffle where the winning ticket is randomly drawn is usually well received and taken in good faith when the proceeds of the raffle go to a charity. The difference here is the proceeds go to a company. Loot boxes are still the same game of chance, you may or may not get what you want. It's playing the innocent victim up to the hilt to be outraged at not getting what you want. As a child I could go to the sweet shop and get 'Lucky Bags', a sealed bag full of cheap crap that had a random element inside like a boring pencil sharpener or a much more interesting very tiny plastic gun. Children soon learn that it's far more likely they'll get the pencil sharpener, but the chewing gum and licorice makes up for the disappointment. They learn to manage their expectations without running back to the shop crying that it's all a scam. The thing is, there are no odds that you could bet against, there is no 3-in-1 gamble to make, it is 'chance'. The reason I called it wishful thinking (third post in) whether you'd get your ship in a loot box is because there are again no odds, but wishful thinking both wishes for the ship to drop, and it also invents a vague set of odds that makes the person think 'it's about time the ship dropped'. It's hard to call this gambling in the strict sense and this is perhaps why WG and other companies get away with it. But like the 'Luck Bag' the player still gets all the cheap crap they knew would be in there anyway so they never come away empty handed. Personally I think there is something slightly exploitative about loot boxes because there is no protection for the innocent and vulnerable, but for everybody else it should be apparent from life experience that the raffle ticket isn't guaranteed to win no matter how much you need the prize, so why the mock outrage? -

No, it's wishful thinking, totally different from gambling. -
Each region celebrates it's own anniversary's and has it's own interests so regions reflect this in the content they provide. Different regions also offer various bribes incentives to play some being more 'valuable' than others, so hopping from one region to another to gather loot wouldn't really be fair would it? So you can see why the game is divided into regions, to better cater for the interests of the players and WG don't do it just to annoy you.

Whenever I've tried it in WoT it's come down to people discussing what to do rather than simply doing it with their instinct for battle, which kind of obviates any missing seconds. Team chat is largely waffle, people who have acquaintances but claim them to be friends, and it really is about time for a Clan to say enough of this charade and play without the waffle and 'buddy talk' and either bond by looking at the map and playing for each other and the team overall, not a division always blinkered only to what each other us doing. -
There are times when WoWs servers crash, it is however rare in the scheme of things and WG fess up when it happens. You can get a sense of if it's WG's fault by looking for a rash of other confirming posts on the forum at the same time. For all normal everyday crashes it is your internet provider, so run PingPlotter and see where the disconnect is and complain to your internet company, WG can't fix your internet connection.

Pinkie Scum: 'Leaving Battle Early' Penalty.
250swb replied to TeumessianFox's topic in General Discussion
The 'Leaving the Battle Early' penalty covers the whole situation of people abusing the ability to leave a battle if they decide they don't like the look of something or get mardy. For everybody else the first thing they do is try to log in again as soon as possible and hopefully rejoin the battle. And if that doesn't work they run PingPlotter and see why and where they are being disconnected from the game. You don't go pink just by trying to log in again, but you can go pink if you haven't made an effort and discovered it's your internet provider that is disconnecting you. Then the disconnects are on YOUR doorstep and nothing to do with WG protecting players from trolls who spoil teams by flouncing off. -
How the hell this guy got away with this?

So he only damaged you but you are now judge and jury and come to the forum to form a lynch mob? It is perfectly possible for a player to get tunnel vision and make a mistake identifying friend from foe, it is perfectly possible for them to make a mistake by getting angry, it is perfectly possible for them to be a jerk or be mistaken for a jerk. But the biggest mistake here is naming and shaming under circumstances where the other player can't answer back. -

Maybe the 'playbase' (player base?) you deride would disagree with you? Kind of like a Premiership player calling Amateur League players 'pathetic', it wouldn't sound too good in the Sunday newspapers would it? The difference here is the forum protects the snobs from wider ridicule. The OP decided he was better than most players, and his stats may suggest this is true, but all the same he's played the game for this long with the same mix of players around him, and he's fed off them to get his stats, so maybe he should be thanking them? -
When I started playing there was one chap with over 4,000 battles on the Orlan, same time every day he'd be there and if on the same team we had a good chance of winning. He now has over 6,000 battles on the same ship!

2500 doubloons isn't exactly milking the player but something needs to be in place to stop vexatious name changing both in-game and in the forum. Players identities should be consistent to avoid the 'who was that masked man?' situation where they interject themselves into the game or the forum, do and say outrageous things, and then just change their name to cover their tracks. Above all when people get to know each other on the forum, or in their Clan, or meet randomly in the game, it becomes a society that tends to behave slightly better than anonymous people do. Casual and easy switching of names would be open to abuse far beyond a bit of in-game or forum trolling with the potential for outright deceit or worse. And while it's understandable that players can make a mistake in choosing a name in normal life you have to stand by the mistakes you make, it's part of growing up.

So you want WG to fix your PC?

What sort of chance do you want? Maybe somebody can rig some code hack type thing if you say how you want it to work? Of course there is always the in-game hack of using the map, or the 'S' key? -
And when you've got your special tracers you will know it because the light show attracts the enemy to focus your special Captain. It's all 'tits and tinsel' something to attract the enemy to you waving your baps about and saying 'look at me!'. Good luck with that.

And have you noticed how megalomaniac players get the higher they go? It's like 'I am at Rank IV, you are Rank VIII, you are now my slave!' Yeah, that's going to work.

...... and fellow clan members. I agree with your points but ritual back slapping among clan members shouldn't be a part of Karma if Karma is going to represent the whole community. I could be wrong, but how much Karma is spread around without it being performance related but 'clan' related? Perhaps it's too difficult to sift this out in a stat, but either way the system is open to abuse over and beyond randomly seeing a pal in the battle. While nothing is won with Karma it shouldn't be underestimated how players estimations of themselves and others can be 'inflated' by Karma (from wherever it comes) and the subsequent weaponising of it in post battle reports.
-
I find Karma goes up in special events like 'Space Battles' or 'Rouge Wave' (or whatever it was called), where players are in small teams and directly feel the bonds of comradeship, and goes down again in Random battles and Ranked where it is after all always 'somebody else's fault'. It's best not to have any Karma, which is a damning indictment of the system, but what you don't have you can't miss.

11 campers losing in 10 minutes is the new meta
250swb replied to Bartleby74's topic in General Discussion
I guess he was still typing in chat to ask why your Mutsu sank before his DD. I think whenever the other classes see the BB's dying before they do it's kind of distracting being landed with so much extra sea to patrol and with such short range guns and torps. The startling fact is that generally speaking the better players tend to pick off the less good players first (I'm sure your Mutsu was the exception), so complaining about bad players and how they should learn more is a moot point when you are killing them off in a battle before they have time to learn anything. Do you see the dichotomy? You hope somebody will learn but then take away their ability to learn. Multiply that across the game and you see why some players get into the mindset that their battle will last a few minutes while yours may last fifteen minutes. There is no clear solution, but one solution would be to stop killing the bad players, or alternatively and more logically stop complaining so much about them as if they are doing it to you on purpose. -
My 1 year anniversary and a (mostly) fond farewell
250swb replied to Bindolaf_Werebane's topic in General Discussion
How would you know if you are getting better? Playing against equal skill players means you all eventually have a 50% WR. You'd be stuck in a void not knowing if you had the potential to play better and with no way to progress anyway given all those players already 'better' than you are also having their stats leveled in the same way. Your best chance for the time being is to accept three simple things, one, players do go through up's and down's, progress is not linear, two, you can go to fast to soon, upper tiers only get harder, three, there is no shame and many advantages in playing tier II and III again. -
I believe all of it, but then again I hit my head hard today and I'm recovering with a bottle of whisky. I also dig that talking dog in Family Guy, where do you get those?

Yes watched Flamu and got 15 random containers with 'THUMB'
