trust me, DONT buy that soviet container!
250swb replied to Sometimes_Naive's topic in General Discussion
Funny that, I got all four missions from 25 containers. -
I got one (1) Space Drop during the whole event, so add that to the figures that need analysing.
-
I got a regular Twitch drop this morning so perhaps fixed again?

They need to post about their departure because they want their prediction about the games demise to come true, so they can say 'told you so'. So these posts are a mean, petty, and spiteful act hoping to demoralise the players they leave behind and speed their departure as well. Posts announcing a players departure may often sound like a mild whine, and we can make fun of it, but the underlying intent is one of the lowest human instincts.

Did anyone else get 128 million cash on World of Warships blitz ?

Are you playing on a test server, in which case WG give you a whole lot of credits to play, but you don't get to keep it outside the test server. It all disappears when the test server ends. -
WG says the Space events come to an end when update 0.8.3 is released, which is mid week. It makes sense given when the ironium stops being a valid resource to spend which is mid/end May.

All very touchy feely, let's pass on the reporting to some other poor sod who has to sort the wheat from the chaff. So that would be back to stage one, report whoever you like for whatever you like and wash your hands of your own moral responsibility to weigh up the outrage you wanted to whine about. If players had to seriously consider what is a flippant or malicious report (because of consequences) it wouldn't be bad for the game or society in general.
-
Genuine ranters will rant and get more neg reps pro rata than the people reporting them. After all the power of the people is greater than an individual, in a team there are far more potential reports available regarding conduct than any one player with with his finger on the button can counter before using his days allocation. There is nothing to worry about if you don't have anything to worry about. And quit telling me to calm down, seems like you have an issue with worrying where this could take you.

Yes, to prove you aren't a snowflake, man up, take responsibility for accusing somebody of something. If you aren't a serial gobshite then one neg rep against you won't matter in the long term because you'll 'presumably' be getting more compliments to counter it. If you need to train people who are behaving like animals and abusing a system that should be benign, then treat them like animals in a lab in the first place. An electric shock (point against them) if they do something potentially counter productive to the pack (such as neg reps), and rewards if in the long term they were being altruistic for the good of the pack.

How about this idea to restore the viability of Karma. Everybody starts with say 1000 Karma, but every time you submit a neg rep against another player the report is also mirrored in your Karma, so you report one, you lose one. So you can still receive compliments and gain Karma, but it would put off people reporting maliciously because they also lose a point. It would mean players would have to really, really mean it if they saw poor play, they would have to be willing to lose a point. So nice people would report only ultra bad things, but if they are ultra nice they still gain more good reports, and malicious people's karma just keeps going down. It's kind of a test of perspective, is it really so bad what I saw, or am I just being a snowflake?

Hurra! - A cheers to the [censored] easter holiday crowd

And you know what the torp people will be saying, 'why isn't he looking at his map?' -
Yes, usually a Twitch drop every day, but as soon as the so called 'super space containers' came online the drops have dropped off.
-
I'd guess it is because WG want to limit the event so they don't have the costs of making too many pixel flags.

Us line CV looks promosing. I smell nerfs incoming
250swb replied to anonym_RGvUdEcxWWvD's topic in General Discussion
Well done. Maybe I should start lower down the pecking order, I just tried my container ship the USS Enterprise in a Co-Op battle and got shot out of the sky by anything that moved, although most of the team were AA cruisers. But the dive bombers were very easy to use, a surprise because I'd turned to them in desperation after not torping anything. But I'll put it back into it's box for the foreseeable future. -
Can´t set pathways for my Graf Zeppelin squadrons

Steering airplanes manually is a chore, having to avoid AA ships, spotting new targets and having to re-prioritise them, avoid fighters, good grief what do WG expect from us, a computer desk is meant to put your feet up on and relax!! -
How does the container from Twitch work?
250swb replied to Hannibalurg's topic in General Discussion
Generally it seems to me you get the container on the following day, and to maintain the frequency you need to watch two days consecutively. That said you can get containers on the same day if they are 'special', such as super containers. -
It is a great shame the Pre-Dreadnoughts are so gimped in the game, imagine a tier rearrangement where nothing else would be outside the early period. But the Mikasa is in itself a poor introduction to battleships and needs an edge so that players can be excited with it and look to play more battleships. A lot of new players go for low tier DD's and it's no surprise, they can feel like they can make a difference every time they spawn, but with the Mikasa you are always looking at MM.
-
In which case you should have stopped playing it 20 minutes ago because you are at 43% now.
-
I was enjoying Space Battles until now, but Torpedo Beat is just unplayable. I mean, yes you can take part, but in terms of 'play' there is none, unless you count scooting around firing torpedos as fast as you can as an intelligent use of your time.

Games with same number or more CVs than DDs are becoming usual

You don't think perhaps it's because this weekend saw the re-release of four Premium carriers? I mean by comparison any weekend with a single new Premium ship see's more of those ships in games than at any other time. -
I've had it a few times especially as tier VI is now my favourite tier, but for the times I get into predominately tier VIII battles I just relax and think that there is also some other poor idiot on the enemy team thinking the same as me. The pressure is off, time for some artistry rather than the 'do this or do that' diatribe, it can be fun. Play to the situation you are in.
-
Make your map bigger? But pressing 'M' for a millisecond to look at the full screen map doesn't distract from flying the planes.
-
So it's not all bad then.

All I ask is does it get better after tier IV? I'm a sucker for crates, even if I don't necessarily want them there is always the gamble, and I'd rather play WoWs than the horses. So I got twenty crates and got a ton of flags and camo plus a Zeppelin and an Enterprise. The thing is, I've never played a carrier before today, even after getting the tier VIII British carrier in the recent missions. So I started to play with the tier IV Hermes and it feels like firing feathers into Battleships, a torp hit is an achievement, a bomb is shrugged off, but nothing seems to make a game changing difference, like a DD torpedo strike can. Yes, I need practice, but does the ineffectual damage at tier IV improve, or is it a similar ratio as you go up the tiers?

Roflstomps are less to do with skill than peer pressure to force an untenable situation and/or luck. The simple fact is that like a real life battle if the team/army/flotilla lose 10% of their force they've lost the battle unless remarkable circumstances apply. Having said that in a WoWs battle there are more newbies and novice commaders than you'd get in real battle, but a similar ratio applies, the team loses the first two or three ships and the rot starts and rolls on. Whether it's a new player that throws their life away, or an experienced player getting caught out, or bad luck by all, roflstomps are started by coinciding two or three unlucky or careless moves, it isn't all about the newbies skill.
