  2. I guess they think they've gone as far as they can with it in a test environment so it's now a choice between binning thousands of hours work or going live and seeing what happens.

    If one of them had RPF you'd be helpless; if one of them had radar you'd be helpless; if one of them was a CV you'd be helpless; if one of them was a DD you'd be helpless; and even though they had none of the above just by playing the objective you were helpless.
  4. I suspect that WG thinks they can balance this by tweaking a few numbers up or down and end up with a fun to play class that appeals to all without ruining everyone else's game. I think they're wrong and the class is inherently unbalanceable without CV v CV interaction.

    Agreed. I don't see it as a game-breaker but it is annoying at times and I don't see any reason why we should not have it.

    I see it as a far more fundamental problem. All new CV can do is farm damage, if they can't even do that well there's no point in them being in the game, but if they can farm damage well it just makes all the non-CV players game misery. Old CV suffer from the same problem but at least that's balanced by the CV v CV combat and sucky interface that makes it difficult and not fun to play (for most), new CV removes the drawbacks of the class but leaves the fundamental problem intact, in a game of cat and mouse, why would you want to be the mouse?

    I don't think it'll ever be ready for the live server, the core idea of risk free relatively low skill damage farming just cannot be balanced into a multiplayer PvP game. It's damn good fun though.

    How are you for captains, elite XP etc? Bismarck really needs a 14 point captain as a minimum to use the secondary guns, Amagi I guess could get away with less.

    I guess that what might be happening is that the players who are interested in naval history joined early and took it fairly seriously and tried to get better, now a lot of them have gone and what we have left are the influx from Steam who just want a point and click arcade game.

    I guess the reason is that IRL they were different ships, Wakeful was a Admiralty W class, the B hull is a Modified W, there may be enough differences between them to make the 4" guns just wrong on the B hull. Gaede is a paper ship so I guess WG have a bit more licence to change things.

    Maybe WG should look at the cost of the premium consumables for ships that rely upon multiples of them, it's a bit odd that something like Conqueror needs one premium consumable for 22,500 but Worcester needs 4 or 5 for 90,000 or 112,500.

    My 2p (having played neither): Black - dedicated T9 competitive and very good at it; Flint - more fun to play in random battles as credit/XP farmer.

    I think the difference there is the rest of the team, if you factor in the 50% win bonus the XP he earned in both games was similar. The first game was close, the losing team played well which pushed his limited CV contribution down the leaderboard, in the second game the losing team failed hard which meant that the winning team shared the XP around and nobody had a particularly good game (Yorck excepted). Look at the XP for the other players, the 1,265 he earned in second place in the second game would've left him sixth in the first.
  21. It's a bit late for that now isn't it? You're in for a treat when new CV (SkyPox) goes live.
  22. I'm not sure you really are. I mean we're talking about probability levels against that make the number of atoms in the universe look like a small number, the word "unlikely" doesn't really do it justice.
  23. If multiple T10 can stack their AA it becomes effective and can stop an attack, but how realistic that is on live I don't know.

    If SkyPox goes live, free XP your way to T10 CV, it's fantastic (and everything else is redundant).
