I'm fairly sure he's back in the program, IIRC he was at the CC summit earlier in the year and the "someone should be sacked" incident was a long time before that.

Problem is that I think WG are seriously overestimating how much monetization this game will take, as a game it's a lot more niche than Tanks and when the niche players are gone what's left? A slow paced and not very well balanced MOBA trying to appeal to players born half a century or more after the last of the in-game vehicles became paperclips, good luck with that.
-
Monetization is the issue, everything interesting is now locked behind a paywall, more P2W ships, T10 ranked, there's not much left for the average F2P players.
-
I'm sure everyone would like a properly balanced CV class but WG have tried twice and failed both times so the poll is about what we have and not the unicorn we don't have.
-
The flaw in the logic here is that this disease doesn't affect other people, if you were to replace it with say smallpox it would be more realistic.
-
Which is the option nobody agrees with? Including a "send me a unicorn" option in the poll makes it meaningless, everyone wants the unicorn but since we're not going to get it the poll is about what we have. Imagine the following poll: Does that tell you anything useful?
-
What El2aZer says. I could include an option for RTS CV, another rework CV or for WG to send us all a real live Unicorn but since none of that is going to happen the poll is about what we have in the game now.

I have 50 000 xp on orlan tier 1 why can't i use it on the same tech tree line?
Capra76 replied to Baldur25_1's topic in General Discussion
It can only be used on the next ship in the line, other than that it's only useful if you want to pay to convert it to free XP. As to the why? $$$$$$$$$$$ -
CV are here to stay in their current format, WG aren't going to rework them again, they're not going back to RTS so it's a binary question, would the game be better without them?

HOW TO FIX THE BROKEN RICO RELEASE.
Capra76 replied to THE_JUDEAN_PEOPLES_FRONT's topic in General Discussion
Problem here is that WG will presumably want to use the shipyard system again so they can't have it tied up with the PR indefinitely. I think the only option is to put up with this as it is but find some very cool new year event to compensate. -
HOW TO FIX THE BROKEN RICO RELEASE.

The simplest option: -
24,000 doubloons for 'premium' Puerto Rico boosters.

And I've just become a salesman for WG. -

So long as you do it within a few days of the directive being unlocked I believe this is the case, you also have to complete daily missions as well. One (intended) hack I've noticed is that if you buy the Gorizia then the first 3 directives are much easier to complete and you'll (presumably) get the doubloon value of the ship back in game (needs to be confirmed). -
Not really true IMO. Sure, there aren't any other naval themed MOBA games out there but expand the options to "fun things to do with your time" and suddenly there's a lot of competiton out there.
-
I think the bigger issue is that they can get away with it in Tanks, it's a much bigger game and there's a continuous stream of new players ready to replace the ones they lose thanks to their PR ups. WoWs is much more niche, the serious players are (I think) much older and when they're gone there's not much out there to replace them.

Please don't buy the Puerto Rico

WG can create a new resource, how about salt, harvested from the tears of all the players who paid and ground it out in the event. -

Capra76 replied to Verblonde's topic in General Discussion
Worth emphasising this bit: If you are planning to buy three premium boosters: The first directive should be completed within 7 days after the directive’s start; The second directive should be completed within 7 days of finishing the previous one; The third directive should be completed within 14 days of finishing the previous one; You should collect all rewards from Daily Shipments; You don’t need tokens from Daily Missions at all (they will only give you an additional boost); And be sure to spend your tokens as soon as possible. So that's the thick end of £/€100 and you still have a pretty steep grind to get your ship at the end of it (or pay yet more to complete). Also note the non-apology "we're sorry that you're too stupid to understand this". -

The question I have is what happens when presumably quite a large number of players find out they've devoted a lot of time and effort into something that was impossible from the start and can't/won't pay for the boosters? Are they going to be happy? -

Capra76 replied to ________________Morrison's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps the real point is that WG have in effect decided that we're not going to have a x-mas event this year and have replaced it with an event that's impossible for 99.9% of players. Give us an event with a moderate grind and an interesting low/mid tier ship as a reward and the construction yard becomes a great idea, WG might even make some $$$ from selling boosters to regular players if they're sensibly priced and the players are happy. Stick PR in the armory for a mix of gold and FXP and WG can be happy too. -
Even CCs complain about Puerto Rico grind
Capra76 replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
I guess it depends upon how you define "free", if it includes premium time and a huge stockpile of rare camos and special signals plus premium T9/10 ships and you're willing to put in 8-10 hours per day then maybe, for everyone else forget it. -

Capra76 replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
I'm curious, is this thing even any good? I mean most of the reward ships to date have been total but for what WG are asking surely the PR must be about as balanced as a Death Star v Ewoks or @El2aZeR v anyone who thinks the CV rework is alright. -
Flamu makes an interesting point in the PR show video, it's there to try and trap players into the "sunk cost fallacy", which is to say that having spent a fair amount of time getting to that point, they might be more willing to spend cash to avoid an otherwise impossible grind to avoid losing their "investment". Personally I think it's better described as a form of second order price discrimination but what do I know?

I'm afraid this is where we are in the game's life cycle, mature, starting to decline, WG want to monetize what's left as hard as possible so more P2W for those willing to and less and less for the average "low value" players as they get pushed to one side. I have to say I've always found WG's prices absurd but the thick end of £/€100 for boosters for an in game vehicle is just out there. Guess I'm stuck with the odd bit of PT server and maybe some co-op here and there, can't see any reason to put any effort into any new lines. -
Banned over there now so decided to come over here and waste our time instead?
