Ok, so only 7.6 km, not completely broken, ,just very nearly. I knew it was powerful but I hadn't realized it was that powerful. Re: vigilance, it does stack with hydro so theoretically you could spot torpedoes up to 7 km away but in practice with such a powerful consumable I suspect most players would opt for superintendent instead, with premium that'd give you 4 x charges. Just think about that for a second, 4 charges for 2 minutes equals 8 minutes total, with premium 2 minute cool-down that means that 2 of them working together can keep up permanent coverage for effectively the whole match, that's quite a thing. -

Wow, I didn't know that, is that really true? If it is then with the target acquisition module (+50%) are they really able to spot ships at 3 km + 5.6 km = 8.6 km, that's more powerful than the T7 radar and lasts 2 minutes, surely that can't be right. -
Gearing's torpedoes are arguably worse than Fletcher's, more range but much slower re-load and less of a bang when they do hit, if you want to cut them back to a 10.5 km Mk 16 mod 2 then they'll need to reload 32 seconds quicker, travel at over 70 kn and/or hit for the same damage as the F3.

A gunnery focused captain means giving up LS for EM (unless you are willing to spend gold to retrain the captain later on), which is suicide for any DD but especially a gunboat. An Ognevoi wins on DPM, range and HP, a Farragut has good enough stealth to just about get into effective range so you really need an idiot opponent to win, the only real advantage Hatty has is slightly better stealth to avoid the fight in the first place, and even then you'll need a bit of luck. Ignoring the fact that you'll regularly be meeting Bensons with 15 point captains possibly the scariest thing you could face is a T5 USN/VMF DD, which have pretty much the same firepower as the T6 and stealth as good as yours. The gun range is too low to engage targets from distance and avoid return fire, your smoke generator is nowhere near as good as the USN so using the offensive smoke trick is marginal, so what you're left with is a mediocre torpedo boat with guns that are still not much more than deck ornaments. I'm playing this stock in co-op for the daily bonus because honestly I think it would be unplayable in random, it just doesn't have the tools to do anything beyond rushing BB and hope to land a few torpedo hits before you die.

By pure chance I ended up on the same team as Von_Boeg and Domen3 today, net result: total slaughter. MM working just fine. -
I think TBF, with a total re-work of the skill tree imminent (and I assume associated free skill re-set) it was perhaps not an unreasonable decision although it doesn't help that the re-work has been delayed into 2017.

Just my 2p but the secondary guns really are a bit excessive. -
Why not check the players stats before you report? If they're half decent then chances are it's a one-off out of their control. I've had a couple of games where it just freezes up/crashes during loading, nothing I can do about it.

It would be nice if the RN cruisers could stop getting citadel hits from 127 mm HE, that would be a start.

But the final task is to complete all tasks making the pins pretty stupid really, so repeating the task doesn't gain you anything, because to progress you still need to complete all tasks.

Is there a way to skip the arsonist award in mission 2 of Science of Victory? It just isn't something I get very often (last one was in September), so whilst everything else in that mission is pretty straightforward the last part could keep me stuck for months. Any ideas on how to farm this quickly? Maybe load up the Kongo with nothing but HE and just try to burn someone down?

Take a T2 DD out in co-op, rush the first ship you see and torp it, if you survive rush the next ship you see and torp it, once you die exit to port, select another T2 DD and repeat.

You mean something that detects torpedoes from 5+ km away and gives BB even longer to react.

It tells us where the developers were starting from and allows us to make educated guesses about where they may end up. Today's announcement appears to be confirmation that the skill will be in there in some form, as a level 4 skill it's going to be powerful, i don't see any way to implement this that isn't a huge and potentially game-breaking nerf to DD (at a time when BB numbers have exploded out of control).

Source is within the link provided. Now it's possible that WG will change the way the skill operates from the original: "display, only to you, the direction of the nearest enemy (even if they are not spotted)" but it's a level 4 skill so it's going to be quite powerful, and I can't see any way that the skill could be implemented without it being a huge nerf to DD and effectively killing off the stealth torpedo gameplay. And it's WG, there's no saying they won't change the skill to make it even more powerful.
