I was just checking. 1206 Florins and 206 Crowns so far. I thought I may as well wait and see if I can reach Implacable and just noticed you need the other bundles first No reason to keep saving I guess... I'll give Hermes a go now. -

May 1st is probably still too early. Given earlier stable number of players and the negativity regarding the rework, I think it's probable there's a dip in less games per week by that time. It's likely they'll stay the course, delay the introduction of subs, but if cvs should be regarded a detriment to the game by the end of the balancing process and with no way to fix it, they could always reduce the modes that cvs are allowed in.

Since both the flooding time and the damage per second has been reduced significantly, I think the activation time of the Damage Control party should be reduced, mainly for bbs. The prolonged invulnerability for bbs when DCP is used given the short duration of floods makes less sense now. The window and chance to create perma floods is too small and I think the flooding damage since the change is down.

I've played some more high tier games and I can't say it's been enjoyable today. Mostly because of the utter crap teams I've had. Trying to grind a Z-23 is not advisable atm. However the last 2-3 games I was in made me wonder about your experience. Good cv players not having enough impact on the teams to win. The skill gap must be lower than before. I haven't seen what people are complaining about. Even tier 10 cvs are far from what they were before the rework. The gameplay and the meta are whole other aspects, but cvs seem far more balanced than they've ever been. I kind of expect some buffs to cvs generally, but we'll see.

The German dd line does seem kind of obsolete atm. I'm only at Z-23, but the benefits of these dds aren't enough. The AP is very unreliable vs dds.

I agree. Way too early to poll about the general opinion of the cv rework. Old cv were sort of balanced over a few years. This has been out for a small number of weeks. We'll see in a while.

For the first part - It seems the issue you see in skill gap or the relative influence of cv concerns tier 10. I've played some tier 10 games and haven't noticed this issue yet, but there could be one. As for the rest of the tiers, I don't think there's such an issue. I've played mid tiers to some extent - more dds when in the early rework, and also US cvs tier 4-8. I don't believe cvs in these tiers are much more influential than other classes. In tier 10, there might be a greater skill gap. I'm sure they'll continue to balance. As for the latter part, I see no issues in that definition. If one player manages to stay above 80% in all classes, that's fine. If too many players manages to stay above 80% in some ships + some cvs, I think WG would look at those numbers and possibly nerf some ships + some cvs. Same goes for the lower end. If all dds have a sort of Bell curve between 35-75% solo WR with some few exceptions, cvs should be around the same level, provided WG succeeds in balancing the ships. I think the biggest issue pre-rework were those 25% WR cv players. There was a huge skill gap. Hopefully that is a thing of the past.

Just to avoid misunderstandings - you're claiming the skill gap still is a major issue? Does this involve all tiers/cvs or just some? Which ones?

We'll have to disagree on the impact of cvs. 2 bad cv players in same team vs 2 good ones will of course greatly impact the battle, just like it would in the same scenario with dds. The final part about the meta, I agree to some extent, but I think it's due to the prevalence of cvs and the balancing process. In the end I don't know if WG will reach a point where the game is good enough with cvs in. Like before, I still like the game better without cvs. I'll let the game be balanced first, players vaguely learn a new meta and hope it will improve. Still relies on the playerbase to some extent.

I agree that a captain respec would be good though. I'm not respeccing 19p captains just to test during the balancing process. I feel some captains are due for a respec and I just play these ships less now. It's nothing serious or something I need, just probably beneficial for balancing purposes. -

@Migantium_Mashum I get that you don't enjoy this rework, but can you tell me what ships you get less enjoyment from and how much you've played the game the last few weeks? The more specific you are about your criticism, the better it is. Posting screenshots of player numbers doesn't really do much. WG knows their numbers. They'll do whatever they will concerning player numbers.

..or it was because you were against a good cv player. Now cvs are a nuisance, but usually not game ending.

If possible - show who it was that complimented you after the game. +1 compliment - 'username'. No real drawbacks, but some benefits to the community and mentality, etc...

I think for the old cv mains, the rework has been negative, but as a whole the cv rework is an improvement from the earlier iteration of cvs, for the other classes. The game doesn't change as much as it did prior when you ended up in a cv game. From what I've seen in the latest patch, cvs aren't as influential as they were before the rework. The skill gap doesn't matter as much. ...but, I'm not sure we'll come to a point where a game with cvs is more fun than a game without cvs. That is my main concern. I think that is what a lot of players are annoyed about. Not that cvs ruin the game more than before, but that they are more prevalent and noticed more.
