The Great Naval Battle Manipulation
loppantorkel replied to it3llig3nc3's topic in General Discussion
Rigging that causes excessive frustration makes no sense. -
Nah, but you believe so.

Because players would be more aware of their likelihood of getting chat banned? System is already abused and somewhat flawed. This suggestion would put more knowledge and power in the players' hand to not get chat banned. No, the suggestion is good within the current system.
-
Suggestion regarding the Karma system: Aside for the numerical value of Karma, include a visible gauge at the port, ranging from red -10 to green +5. If you reach -10 by chat reports, you get a chatban and the gauge is reset at 0 (or -5 if repeat offender). This will make players more aware of their situation, of their likelihood of getting a chatban and hopefully motivate the players to restrain and conduct themselves, and maybe even apply themselves to play better to move the gauge to a positive value. It should be easy to understand this system.

I agree that Witcher 3 was a bargain at full price. Most, if any, games come nowhere close, so not sure if that's the standard to value the rest by. I don't give much for the 'refund because WG changed it' but from what I understand they are making doubloons more usable - more options to buy ships. In the end it is very much about the money.

Bugged XP or changed rewards or just high on planes?
loppantorkel posted a topic in General Discussion
I had a crap cv game. Managed 10k damage or so and wondered if I'd pass 300xp in the loss. XP was however way beyond normal over both teams. Was it our excessive waste of pilots that drove XP up this way or has WG changed anything..? Anyone noticed anything similar? -
You don't find this the least petty? You bought a ship. Played it for a number of battles. Had fun for several hours in an otherwise F2P game. The company changes the game, the class in an attempt to improve the game and you want to find a way to get your money back? Why not look at it as you've supported the company that provided you with some entertainment for a while?

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

(tinfoil hat applied) ..If a significant group of players were getting preferential mm, it would likely affect some others negatively. -

Confirmation of rigged MM..? I don't think he needs that -
Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
loppantorkel replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
I'm having massive swings in WR too. I've got some theories as to why: 1. Pure randomness - don't know how to check this, but it's an answer if there's no other. 2. Unaccounted changes - are you playing the same ships you know you perform well in or have you been on some mission or grind which makes things tougher? Has the meta changed - more planes etc? 3. Are you playing in different times or in other circumstances? Early morning or late night might be easier or different from weekends. 4. Mental swings - we all have good and bad moments, good days and bad days. Could be able see patterns if your performance otherwise is down or up. 5. MM manipulation - you should be able to set up a data-table for what kind of WR your teammates and your enemies have, using XVM, over some period and see if there's some sort of pattern in MM. It's not beyond reason to think WG is using MM to increase player retention. -
Not sure if just an oddity but: British cvs seem to be saturated very quickly and very tough to kill with at least low calibre ammo. I've encountered it twice now, maybe a third time playing cv myself. Seems in need of some balancing.

Current Karma is better than nothing. Give compliments to those who perform well or are friendly in chat. Report those who need to be reported, sometimes for nothing else than blow off some steam rather than engaging in chat. If you run out of reports, you know it's time to quit for the day. Very good system if you understand to use it properly.

"Sub Octavian" regarding possible changes to "Premium" ships that are considered "OP"
loppantorkel replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Didn't you enjoy playing that OP ship for the time it lasted? 330 games and counting... It must have been paid off by now for pure entertainment value. It probably won't suck balls after rebalance either. -
Anyone get any Ship Missions from Air Supply containers?
loppantorkel replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
Nothing here. -
Bow Camping, autobounce, and HE/AP value
loppantorkel replied to WyomingNavy's topic in General Discussion
Might as well hi-jack this thread. Damage saturation and damage done working as intended? Nothing new, it just got very clear and somewhat annoying in this situation. Both IFHE and AP was used and I barely managed to get the last few hundred HP from him. 50 hits and 500 damage HE and AP. -
HVAR vs Tiny Tim and CV captain build
loppantorkel replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
I upgraded rockets last and I still barely use the. I've just tried Tiny Tim a few times before changing to HVAR. Still prefer bombs and especially torps. I think I focused captain points on bombs and plane armour, but I'm not sure. Tldr: bombs and torps -
On Russian BB accuracy mechanic for all BBs...
loppantorkel replied to FukushuNL's topic in General Discussion
There's another issue when you get too close - overpens. Get too close and damage is reduced again.
