Captains move up the ladder, but usually 2-3 captains in a tree which, when the tier 10 is reached, are put in the ships I play for fun, sometimes more captains if the line is good. Premium ships that are fun get dedicated captains. Most of them get them, but not all high-points. I move around captains as little as possible. Special captains sit in one single ship like most other.

I just want to see how deep this goes

Well, there are more than just those options. Option 2 is certainly true to some degree. Option 3: WG is a company with the primary objective to earn money. A good game is the floor. Keeping players happy and keeping them in the game, invested to keep playing is the next step. Making the matches good requires a good MM. The MM is governed by plenty of rules. Some of these rules may not be known to the playerbase. I've heard of a 'rule' by which you become high tier in a match if you've been low tier for a few games. I'm not sure if this rule is true or not. (Would this be rigging the game in your favour?)

This your main account?

Have you not played wows?

I think it's more reasonable to turn it around. Is WG intentionally rigging the games to make you win by giving you better RNG? For the poor bastards like Ding3Ling who WG doesn't care about, they'll consequently end up with the short end of the RNG stick...
-
That says nothing! Too much confirmation bias. Things go against you and you see a conspiracy. I'm not opposed to testing a theory but you're just pulling up random events that happens to everyone. Yesterday I was up against a TTT div while we had an afk Iowa, and to my utter surprise we lost Please come up with a theory of how WG is rigging the MM and we'll test it.

+ a number of other things affecting MM. Aside from these factors implemented to make the matches more balanced and fun, it's possible there are some other variables used to increase player retention. Is there a reason why they shouldn't do this in Random games, if they could? I'm not stating that the MM is manipulated beyond the known MM constraints, but I can't say I'm a firm believer one way or the other. There could be other factors that goes into MM. This isn't a case of something has to be proven or not. WG is a game company. Their motivation is to have a good game and earn money through it. 'Random Games' are not 'competitive' and does not need to be fair or totally random. They need to be fun and motivate players to keep playing. If WG can achieve this through some additional MM variables, there's no real reason why they shouldn't. If they do, I still think that WR still is a decent indicator of player skill, even if there are some caveats to it. That said, I don't subscribe to the theories some people are putting forth here.

So players aren't skill matched at all but MM always tries to construct a battle where both sides have roughly a 50% chance of winning..?
-
If MM does an increasingly good job at rigging the games toward a 50% chance of winning for both teams, all the time, I don't see how the players wouldn't be drawn to a 50% WR over time.
-
So.. all players are destined to a ca 50% WR?
-
..but the one who's just growing grass for fun will likely have less success than the one with potential, execution and knowledge.
-
You could just add some bots into the game to increase the overall WR of the players and everyone would be happy and no one would ever know....
-
There's a difference between the guy saying 'you can't influence your WR in a random 12 vs 12 game' and the argument that WR is a flawed metric to determine skill, for various reasons.

High tier German destroyers
loppantorkel replied to LemonadeWarriorITA's topic in General Discussion
I agree that they seem to be in a bad spot. Tough to make a difference in games with them (Z-23 so far for me) and usually fairly easy to counter. Not sure what to do about them. I doubt increasing their anti-dd capabilities is a great idea. Maybe increase armour/increase survivability for them. Just make them peskier to get rid of.- 27 replies

Lots of xp flags and a good camo. I've unlocked Saint-Louis but haven't bought it yet. Still, I didn't free-XP past CM like I did pre-buff Hipper, and I hated the Algerie more than the CM.

6: New Mexico maybe..? 7: Lyon 8: Richelieu 9: Jean Bart 10: GK

where is this player base heading to...?
loppantorkel replied to _TinPan_'s topic in General Discussion
I'm going to reduce my time in wows, not quit, just manage the time more. It's been too much lately and while the playerbase seems to be getting worse, I have to say I'm not contributing in chat in a good way. There's a breaking point when you become a detriment due to frustration. Less playing time until the mood gets better or WG manages to divide MM for newcomers/dysfunctional players and those who are more competitive. -
Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

..oh, you playing all ignorant of it. He's on to you -
It appears his complaint extends further than the rework - cvs in general, before and after rework, 2 tier mm, etc.

Atlanta. I like New Orleans too, but they need to fix the overpen mechanic on light cruisers. -
