    ..and do we have any premises to be aware of for you to reach these conclusions? Can we assume that a WG coded MM is of the same RNG quality as flipping a coin?

    I agree the KM bbs don't any need buffs. I think their 'braindeadness' comes with a drawback in top potential though. They seem to be rather average in stats which would support a narrower skill band.

    Come on. Some ships are more forgiving than others. You survive (usually) longer in a bb than in a dd if you're bad and have little awareness. Otoh, these ships are usually also tougher to carry in. You're there in a KM bb, you're tough to kill, but you aren't the most influential ship in the game either. There's a place in the game for these ships too. I support potatoes choosing these ships ahead of cvs, dds or radar cruisers. Yea, there's good reason for why cvs aren't able to instantly punish anything at will anymore. There's a free captain respec coming up... what kind of results could you come up with in full braindead built GK?

    How not competitive? Full secondary build where you do auto-damage and win a lot? There's a reason full sec-builds aren't more effective. Semi secondary builds are viable in Random games. I wouldn't mind the devs looking at secondary mechanic and builds, but straight up buffing secondaries on German bbs probably isn't the best idea. I'm running AFT and Manual secondaries on GK and in Random games it's one of the more fun ships to play and it's decently strong. I wouldn't mind a buff, but I don't think it's advisable.

    I'm pretty sure WG will reduce this time unless they somehow reduce the dd-spotting ability in another way. Maybe they'll reduce both. 2 min is far more than most squadrons are up normally. I wouldn't mind the 2 min extra life if it wasn't for the dd-spotting. It's what I use the 2 min for when I've sunk. Pretty fun in a dickish way.

    I agree. 2 min is a bit too long. Should be capped at 1 min or so imo. Plenty of time to use up the final launched planes. At low tiers where dds hardly can make any damage to your planes, you just follow the dd around for 2 min to keep him spotted. Not really necessary to keep these 2 min and probably an improvement to reduce this time.
  13. Since cv rework is going along so smoothly, WG is probably already working full time on the introduction of the submarines class. Some of us tried out the Halloween subs and while it was fun to try, it felt a bit too hectic for my liking. So how do you implement an ambush class that's sort of slow and very stealthy? Restrict the underwater time a lot? Increase the surface speed? Make it fast and stealthy but reduce the attack capabilities? What if: you introduced a sort of wormhole consumable for submarines? Yes it sounds stupid, but you'd get around a lot of the issues with this. Submarines would have the ability to travel on the surface and under water, but, primarily at the start of the match, submarines would be able to use their consumable to place themselves within a radius of 20km or so, in sub-surfaced mode, just to get themselves into their desired position. When consumable is used there's the ordinary CD. Restrictions of usage would be that your sub is outside of enemy sonar or vision when used. Pros of this consumable would be that subs could be kept slow and stealthy (less bobbing up and down for air) and still remain close to action. Plays and counter plays could be balanced around this more easily around this than if subs were made viable through increased speed and compromises to the underwater capabilities. Cons of this consumable is the term wormhole which will make posters think of Star Trek and immediately kneejerk. Post your own thoughts of the upcoming submarine implementation and testing. Will it have the same success as the cv-rework? Will dds be reworked to fill a new role? Is the 1st of April Space Theme only the beginning of a new era for World of Warships?

    It hurts too much to reach the former gun power of the YY by using the LM, just to be treated with a massive concealment nerf. I doubt the LM is good in the current meta. You'll go in with a disadvantage vs most other dds. You'd kind of have to push in hard to be able to spot the enemy dd + you'll have incoming torps to dodge + it's entirely possible the enemy dd, which outspots you and is able to torp you, also still outguns you. Too many negatives in the current form. LM not worth it imo.

    Not questioning any moderating actions or the un-pinning of this thread... ...but it would be nice to see the explanation for the change. Was it a waste bin no one ever looked in? Since it's un-pinned - has the thread served out its role and do we let it sink? Do you want future suggestions put in the bin or should we post a new thread for each suggestion?

  19. Another sub consumable: Feign death - blob of oil is released, the kill sound is played and you're shown as dead in the stats for 20s.

    Interesting but they have mentioned these tools before after the YY nerf. Good and interesting info, not sure what to discuss. The game is fairly balanced between the ships. Most complains about unbalanced ships are unwarranted. Some, mostly, premiums are OP, but nerfing them got put on hold for apparent reasons. I agree that some balancing should target the meta, but I think WG is aware of that. The slightly boring bow-in tanking cruisers and bbs are worse off now with better flanking ships and cvs who can target even AA cruisers who are immobile. Citadels are raised for better punishment. They're looking at CA-CL interactions. There are some positive signs. WG also acknowledges there's a cv-dd issue that they're looking at.

    Fletcher looks like the better torp-ship and overall better dd compared to Benham, but I might be missing something. edit: ofc increased number of torps might be more effective than before after the flooding change.. ..55knots though..
  23. There was a lot of angst when they first introduced RL in the game. Then people realised it wasn't the end of the world. Still - is the game improved by it? Is the game more fun? Would you like to see more, similar captain skills?

    Maybe give them radar to make them decent dd hunters. Would be kind of interesting regardless of the sound of radar dds... They'd be in open water but spotted from afar and pretty boring if they end up as pure spammers like the Russian line. ...or maybe submarine hunters
  25. Maybe it's the same as when people play PvP for fun. It looks like fun should be kept out of PvP at all cost
