Maybe, I wouldn't know. The question still is - 'which gun calibre is more effective on GK: 420mm or 406mm?' Kremlin obviously has made GK a bit less viable than before, but I've not played GK all that much lately, so who knows?
-
I still have the 406mm guns equipped. I think it's the best way to go, at least it was, not sure if something has changed to make the 420mm more effective.

Play the ships you find fun and don't focus on grinding ships you don't enjoy. MM for Bismarck might be a bit punishing, but I still enjoyed Bismarck more than the FDG grind. The reward in getting the Großer Kurfurst is still worth it imo, but maybe don't rush it, because the grind to get there tough. I'd equip Bismarck and FDG for survivability and play them in between games of more enjoyable ships.

Summer sale has begun - but this time it has offer I have never seen before!

I suppose you could ask that question, but do you really want to see the answer for it? Some things are better left ignored. -

I think you're giving too much credit to what power WG holds and to some extent, the greediness of WG. If WoWs was tremendously successful, they'd probably have more leeway with the pricing. Chances are they'd stay the same, but I doubt WoWs is the cash cow people make it out to be. It's a balance act making the product attractive enough for the price, making a profit while increasing the number of players. Some people will throw money at them, some will never give them a dime and some will buy things by them sporadically. If the playerbase and earnings drop too much, I think they pull the plug on WoWs - how will that benefit your long term goals? Edit: soo.. anyone seen the 90% discount that WG is supposed to be offering? -
New French DDs event... Who s gonna bother with it?!
loppantorkel replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
I doubt it. Not actively. Even these low tier reward ships can get too grindy for my taste. Ofc, if I get close anyway, I'd put in some effort to gain it. Tier 5 dd could be decent fun. -
Are you grinding (or will grind) USS Tier IX DD "Benham" for 800 "Fuel Tokens"?

Yes, completely free. Very good deal. Only a sliver of your sanity and you'll have it. -
Naval Training Center - Ideas & suggestions
loppantorkel replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
I like this idea. ...or maybe WG could sell special captain-trainer perma camos for mid tier ships. Just to increase the captain trainer potential for that mid tier ship to a high tier level. Depends on the price ofc, but since it would be to increase mid tier activity among veteran players, I assume it shouldn't come at a huge cost, and if that was the case, I'd be interested. -

Maybe they want to increase popularity and sales on the Steam platform in particular. We don't have their numbers or know the reasoning behind it. -
Fundamentally flawed mechanics of the game

Now that WG is upping the armour on cruiser mid sections, resulting in higher ricochet chance - shouldn't proper broadside hits, at close range, result in more reliable damage? (mainly for thin mid tier cruisers such as Dallas) -

This may be a good change by its own, but it won't solve the issue with broadsiding, thin cruisers. It's too easy to overpen them and now you add further ricochet chance when angled.. -

loppantorkel replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I don't think it's 'Steam' that is offering these discounts. I think it's WG who's determining exactly what the discounts should be on each platform. I agree that the offers on the main platform haven't been very attractive. I'm not complaining, but other than buying Ohotnik, I haven't spent anything on this summer sale. I guess it's a balance act for WG. -
Was he getting too close to the truth

What if WG - to lower frustration among players due to bad RNG and possibly increase player retention and sales - introduced bots in mid tiers and gave the actual players a bit more 'dispersion luck'..? Could solve a lot of current issues... I'll take that as a 'no'.
-
Do you believe it's impossible for WG to 'lower' or 'increase' luck for players during periods?
-
Disregarding OP, I think they'll nerf Kremlin and maybe a few other Russian bbs in a while. They do seem a bit stronger than the other silver bbs.

I don't mind having a few more 'long project grinds', like for LM, which in some cases can be argued give a slight buff to the ship, or a captain which also give a slight buff to the ship. Would a class 3 Atlanta be a worth it? I don't now. It might direct me more in playing the ships required to accomplish it. I think they said in the latest stream that it would only be for Random mode at start and not competitive..? In Random games there are other factors which influence battles to a far greater degree than a slightly buffed ship, so I'm not too worried about that. I mean, facing a good 3-man div is far worse in terms of balance issues. The thing I'd be most concerned about and why I think this ultimately, in the current form, might be a bad idea, is that I think you'd see less switching between lines and ships. If you want a buffed Montana, you'll grind toward it, but once you get there, you may be less inclined to play the other, class 1 tier 10 bbs. So maybe the players will be even more cemented in their tier 10s, not just only playing the tier 10, but also not switching to the 'lower level tier 10s' as often. I guess that weighs into how players want to be competitive and feeling they'd not be that in a not-ultimate-tier 10 ship ..or maybe the player would just start over on the next grind. Who knows? -

I don't think the core idea is wrong. Lines are grinded and left unplayed too easily and often. Is this the right move? Not sure, it probably could be something to work with. Is the community doing its usual thing? Of course it is. -

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Happened upon @SkybuckFlying in my team the other day. He seems to have given up cvs and is now patrolling the seas of the banned in an Edinburgh. He wishes all of us the best of luck and is most certainly scheming a comeback to the forums. ....and yes, we won the game quite easily. -
Maybe it's a feature to help in profiling the OCD players

Well, if team coordination is good enough, you could have a team of glue eaters making the hurricane league, no skill needed. Same speculative argument. Sorry, but you need to understand the flaw in your logic. -
RANKED and skills of peoples there...
loppantorkel replied to remenberMYname's topic in General Discussion
Guy in my example also wasn't useless. Maybe slightly below average, perhaps even average, perhaps a better player than you, I don't know. What I know is that he's not a bot or 0 skill player. Ranked is a timed event, not forever, meaning that if an around average player can't rank out in 1773 games, a zero skill player won't be able to even if he played 24/7. This all presuming mm is random enough and you can't invest in luck. Maybe you know something I don't. The issue I have in all this is all the talk. If you don't have the time, patience or skill, fine. I tried to rank out in dds but wasn't able to. Other players were able to What does this show me? The skill wasn't there to carry enough, I haven't adapted to the new meta and I wasn't able to put in more time or effort. There's no reason to make argument about a no-skill environment in Ranked. Plenty of players better than me was able to rank out in less games. Good for them.
