  1. I had to google it to see if it was real or some joke I didn't get.. What's special about it?
  2. WG often do these kind of extra missions that require a specific premium ship to finish. I just found that one for Siroco and I'm playing it now. It's a decent time killer with an objective. I think there needs to be some perspective on what WG does and how much we can expect of them. There are incentives to play mid tiers, but I think it usually comes down to the individual preference of the player. WG can't force it. Edit: Siroco seems quite a bit weaker than Jaguar atm, but it can be buffed.
  3. Well, there was Belfast, Cesare, Nicholas (the bb.. what's it called..?), Gremy, Fujin and Kami but making OP ships for mid tiers seems more inappropriate I guess. Now you have Flint, could argue Atlanta (not by average stats it seems ), Arizona and Shinonome are doing quite well. Other than Buorgogne and Stalingrad most ships seem quite well balanced. For Ranked tier 9, most bbs and cruisers that perform better (not much though) are premiums, while silver dds perform better than their premium counterparts.
  4. Well, I'm guessing they're doing what is popular among the players. I don't play any of my low tier premiums, I play some 5-7, but I suppose the high tier premium is what gathers most interest. I can't fault them for doing more work on high tier premiums. This does not negate their intention of getting more players into low-mid tiers. Premium ships for low-mid tier just doesn't do that.

Znamenskiy or Ovechkin as DD captain - which is best?

There's the heal aspect as well. More heal on Grozo with SE, I believe. As for the mentioned ships, I still value health more on at least the okhotnik - the ship I have. If there's an issue with engine repairs or so, there might be more benefit of PM bonus, but for me, increasing the health pool on dds is too good to pass up on. Edit: 50% increase of PM isn't at all bad, but most of the time I can get away with an Damage control. Last Ranked I played I DC and ended up with a double fire on the last salvo instead, so neither option is bad imo.

Specifically what dd is the commander being used on?
  7. I believe Dasha will be there, just be sure you've done all things you want to do at Gamescom before you try it.
  8. Yea... aren't the Dutch dd without torps or am I misremembering..? Given the subs announcement, the Dutch dds might be destined as decent sub counters, and postponed a bit? Maybe future Swedish dds may have a similar role?

I'd go with greater health pool.
  10. Aside from lol-ships like the Atlanta, GK or some other OP ships, I keep coming back to New Orleans. Great ship, not OP, no special features, just a normal ship that handles well and can solve a decent amount of situations and usually in fine MM as tier 7. Given the no-special-features and a 19p captain I'm running some pretty questionable skills on her. Not a big fan of RL, but here I got it. PM.EL. AR Vigilance FP.RL.CE
  11. Yea, maybe. WR in Sinop wasn't as impressive as I thought, but still above most others. Kills, damage, potential and hit ratio seems a bit too strong though looking at the overall stats. I think WG needs to bring the Russian bbs down a bit regardless. Better start there imo. They're just a bit too good at most things. Kremlin is like the unholy offspring of a GK and a Yama.

    A world without cvs - I e Ranked Season 13

http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/season/season13/ship_avg_eu.html Stats of the highest performing ships - WR and XP effecting starsaving: Mogador: WR 53.09% . XP 2011 Alaska: 53.65% . 1726 Krohnstadt: 52.98% . 1747 Kitakaze: 52.81% . 1807 Musashi: 52.82% . 1692 Rest is currently below 52% WR Tashkent worst underperformer followed by Yugu. Fairly even season. More so than expected. I thought Kita would be higher, but I suppose she ends up meeting other Kitas frequently. Edit: Another interesting aspect - Black doesn't seem to be more than average, despite it having radar-smoke which is perceived as some über combo. Imo, sure it's good, but not unbalanced.

    Suggestions thread

Allow people to target friendly ships with torpedo marker - could be hollow red or something - to be able to see if there's a free path to torp enemy or not.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Maybe subs only will be playable in an asymmetrical PvP mode. It's too early to speculate about stats imo.

    Submarines: the next step.

We'll see. Maybe WG can introduce an asymmetrical PvP mode where subs play a greater role. People are way too negative and can't see the potential of this. Yes, there's a risk to it, but there's a risk in stagnation too.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Basically what I've written in my earlier posts. It's not like I enjoy the games with cvs more than games without cvs, and I'm not overly fond of cv gameplay myself, so it's not that I view cv-rework as a total success to any degree. ...but I rarely check the stats of cv players pre game to know which team is going to win the game, because they are not at all as likely to decide the game on their own as they were pre-rework. That's a considerable improvement imo. I still look for names I could recognize, so I'm not arguing the cvs can't be game deciding, just more rarely.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Yea, I'll refrain from that, but I feel the cv situation has improved post rework, regardless of why. Nah, I get the idea. Another Enterprise kind of mishandled my Atlanta the other day - those bombs hurt - but he opted for an easier target after a few strikes. Very rarely I feel there's no decent counterplays vs cvs nowadays, but it may be due to worse cv players. Still doesn't detract from the experience of an improved situation. No more Midways or Hakus crapping all over your team because your own cv is a 25% player. Edit: Also, not sure if you've heard, but submarines are coming to WoWs They might bring the OPness of cvs in a bit

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

So, in the end you're playing an even more OP class than before and I, playing the other classes, somehow is under somekind of delusion, feeling and believing that the cv situation is better now after the rework...? Quite an impressive feat by WG in that case.. So, what's the issue again?

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

What facts? You've done some testing of Enterprise in training room from what I see. I get that you can decide the games you're in, but I've yet to meet you in battle. So far in my experience, the decisiveness of cvs have been reduced post rework.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

All I know is that I don't have to check which team got the unicum cv and which got the potato cv, because it usually won't matter as much as before. Unicum cv will provide a good advantage to his team, but the game is not decided at start. That's the main accomplishment by WG in this rework.

    Capping bug

I know there's another ticket/report system now, but I just remembered this now. It has happened 2-3 times, maybe more, since the patch - The caps have been bugged to some degree, where it appears caps are being capped or not when they shouldn't. Can't explain better at the moment, but several instances since last patch. Maybe it's a graphical glitch only.

    Submarines: the next step.

For me it's more 'I currently enjoy the game, I'll keep playing until I don't'. I'm not going to commit to anything. It's just a game in the end.

    Submarines: the next step.

Yea, I think it's some kind of cyclical phenomena around here. The game needs to grow and, evidently, trying to implement subs is worth the risk, so why not? I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends up. Could be a good addition and it will hardly be as game disrupting as cvs were.
