Yes... I think I like it.

They're nerfing Khaba? Finally...

It's pretty different. I like it for that reason, but I'm not sure about the map or the games in it. Isn't a favourite so far, but I'm still trying to learn it.

I'm not sure how much money WG makes on respecs, but given the changes to the game, I think balancing would be a lot quicker if people could respec their captains for free. I know WG let players earn 'points' for respec, but I think many are hesitant to commit to any builds until the meta settles. WG won't know how their changes affect the game until people try it out on a larger scale. Making it free would just hurry up the balancing process. ..just until the game stabilises somewhat.

Make captain reskill free 2017 or for a few months

Yea.. you either didn't read the OP or just didn't get it. I do not mind the current system. It's a good game and I can pay for respecs if I want to. So no greed, just pure BS on your part. 200000 doubloons.. grow up please. As for now, it seems WG currently is trying to balance the game, they're going to change cvs more over the year, I'm pretty certain they'll implement other things as well. Given the stealth fire removal, I think at least some are changing modules and respeccing their captains. I also believe some are just waiting to see what happens in the longer run, how the meta changes and what people find working. Either WG continue to hand out points for respecs with every major change, or they free it up for some time. Benefit with freeing it up would be that balancing the game would be quicker which in turn leads to a better game quicker and hopefully better income, disadvantage would be loss of income for respecs. -
With removal of stealth fire, a nice addition to the game will be:

It's a balance there too. If the risk becomes too high, tier 10 dds will probably be more inclined to other things. Both Shimas and Gearings seem worse off lately. Shimas have been bad for long, but I think Gearing is the high tier dd that has gotten the shorter end of the stick with the more recent changes. -

Actually I think removing SF was a good idea, so no whine... We'll see how it plays out, but I think high tier capping dds will have a tougher time and I think there's a risk we'll see a bit more stagnated games where capping bases is less of a focus. -

Well he didn't say it was going to be good or abusive, just annoying -

It would be annoying as hell for all parts because it would be so stupid. One salvo at bb, the wait until bb shoots again 25s later..? I think 10-12 bloom for dds could be good, but there may be some issues with it. Your example isn't one of them, imo. -
..but playing virtual shipsimulator is meaningful in some way

I don't want it too much. I'm thinking of the poor WG devs trying to balance the game. It's a fact it's not properly balanced in PT servers and people won't put money into the game for the sake of balancing it. It's perfectly reasonable unless the devs are paid in respecs. -
SF nerf: USN DDs, why play them? How?
loppantorkel replied to Dutch_Amsterdam's topic in General Discussion
That's the easy answer. The removal of stealth firing isn't that bad by itself, I rarely used it myself, but there have been some changes in the later patches and by making the bloom larger for US dds it's another slight nerf. It's not just the changes by and in themselves, but how the players react, play and the meta changes. I haven't played well lately and I'll play Fletcher a bit more now and then, but I wonder if it's not a bit more vulnerable overall. -

loppantorkel replied to Dutch_Amsterdam's topic in General Discussion
I wasn't too bothered by the changes, but I wonder if the changes might affect the meta more than I expected. Haven't played enough yet, but I'll probably play a bit less regardless for the time being. -
[Balance] 2 CVs per team is too much.
loppantorkel replied to anonym_PYC0RAuRIwe4's topic in General Discussion
They want more cvs in the game, so the issue might be the IJN dd line. Maybe if they lowered the visibility to planes. ..and submerged them a bit to increase the survivability? -
am i the only one who feels that containers need looking at?

They could speed up the collect and opening process. Are they really worth the time? -
I was unable to zoom to shoot in first and last game. It changed up a bit after a while but the zoom was borked for the entire game.

Tier 8 Russian Battleship Kronstadt leak
loppantorkel replied to NameChangingIsToExpensiv's topic in Battleships
I really hope this in line with some greater plan. ..dds being supplanted by submarines as bb hunters. -
Found out from people referring to it. Not to promote Flamu, but why not give a rare Q/A some exposure?
-
All the negativity made me listen to the interview again. I think he's a bit off about the strength of the Shima, but otherwise he offered good insights and some their thoughts on various issues. Maybe people here are just a bit too demanding.. ..or entitled?
-
People need to be eased in on the introduction of subs. It's pretty obvious they're fattening the bb population for the big premiere.
-
It's been discussed before. I think it's a good idea, perhaps with some changes to smoke as well, but it seems WG like it as it is. Perhaps it's better for some gameplay reasons.

How many people are planning on leaving Warships
loppantorkel replied to thewildgam3r's topic in General Discussion
Come on... What's with all the mud flinging? -
I enjoy Baltimore more than Des Moines so far. I'm sure it's a bit of a learning process with the new ship, but I wouldn't say it's a huge improvement one should expect. Quite expensive too. Need to equip a few more modules when I get some credits...

I doubt the average player will even notice the change. It won't affect me more than it being a very, very slight nerf to Fletcher perhaps? Some of the IJN dds probably need a look over anyway. The rest should be able to adapt. -

I'm not using strawman arguments on purpose, just trying to get in which scenarios dd gameplay would be tremendously affected by the change. So, honest mistake if I've misunderstood you. In close combat - you're in fight with enemy dd/s, kill one - some other within your 'spotting range when firing' detects you, or some plane detects you. You're detected for those 20s as before. If you were using a stealth firing dd there is a small window where you'd go undetected again after killing the enemy dd and having no one around, but won't be post patch - the enemy ship/s will in this scenario be at least 10km away. All of this should you not smoke up. Is it this you mean when saying you'll be spotted for 20s extra? edit: mostly clarification
