I like the New Orleans. Not the best ship or the one I play the most, but I like it. Fletcher seems borderline OP for flexibility so that's fun, but that's a given.
-
No one would have noticed

Finished it with 5 stars first time I divisioned. 2 Graf Spees and lots of tier 5s and dds, no cv. Not sure how we did it. Fun though. Cleveland or Graf Spee is the way to go, preferably in division. A leander to smoke is helpful too.

50 ships or so in port. Mostly play for fun: Pensa-DM, mostly DM though. Fletcher-Gearing, mostly fletcher. Clemson for seal clubbing, but it was a few weeks ago now. Grind very occasionally: York and tier 4 french cruiser + tier 5 German dd and Fiji. Tried out Bismarck after that mission too. Don't think it's for me, but I'd like to upgrade it a bit. For missions now Cleveland and Graf Spee.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
loppantorkel replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Problem with B in Okinawa that it's usually bad on support. BBs tend to move either north or south. We lost the game pretty badly. I did manage to clear the cv damage mission though and 135k or so mostly torp damage, so not all bad -
Which part? the opinion- or the stat part? I agree that a ship being OP in the hands of 1-2% isn't a cause for a nerf. In the specific example of Khaba post HE buff, I assume you didn't experience the OP nature of Khaba in only 1 of 50-100 games Khaba was in. There's where experience comes in, when you don't have much statistical data to analyse. The point is - experience is valuable to determine ship strength. I assume WG use their data, use their internal experience and listen to player feedback for that reason. Of course, most calls for buffs and nerfs are still due to ignorance.

WG breaks its own rules, admits this cheat, and support trolls offer no support
loppantorkel replied to SamuraiShakaViking's topic in General Discussion
Too biased for my taste. I'm not buying into this rant. Issues come up and WG may have to fix some of them for individuals who get stuck in between, but "WG breaks its own rules, admits this cheat, and support trolls offer no support" Downvoted. -
The average player isn't the problem and shouldn't play at a net loss. Never said that. Most people play the game for fun in the end.

Given how it works in operations, I too am sceptical of the idea. Gives incentives to camping and turning from battles. Not fun gameplay wise and not smart in a strategic sense. In operations it might have a minor practical role, but even there I'm not sure. Heal probably needs to be increased to make it viable to take the time to turn back and if you're pushed back into base, it's not going great to begin with.

Most of the times I don't see notifications of reports or compliments. They pop by quickly when I do see them. Maybe WG could make it a bit clearer.

It's too black and white. A small number of players reached Khaba and are performing strongly in the ship, yes, and it may be difficult to play, yes. Stats suggested that it was performing better than every other tier 10 dds. Players encountering the Khaba can base the strength of the ship based on their experience and use that experience to create an informed opinion. People tend to disregard this as useless opinion which it is not. If you take all this in you have to ask yourself - Is the performance of this this ship due to the ship or the players, or maybe both? Does it need a nerf? Khaba got some nerfs, so it probably was too strong affecting the game in a bad way.

How many 19 points captains do you have?

2 I think, so far, Fletcher and Gearing. I'm not grinding things very efficiently. -
I wish I could stat shame those ranting hobos

The reward/penalty seems reasonable in my opinion. You earn decent amount of credits when you do good and earn some stars and lose credits when you fail the objective. The 1-5 star based on secondary objectives make me come back to try again, learning the mode and map and doing better with each try. If some players are doing too poorly each and every game, they kind of ruin it for their teammates and maybe it's not a bad idea to dissuade them from continuously play this mode. If they want to, they're free to do it, but at a cost. It's as reasonable as having a high cost for playing tier 10. Making it easy mode, easy earnings could increase the frustration and make people bail on the mode earlier. I like it so far.

Well, it's okay to blurt out such things even if you haven't played the game provided you base it on some reasonable objective stats, isn't it? I mean, I haven't checked the the temperature every day, but I assume the wise men aren't lying about their findings about changes and climate change, so I can have an opinion on it and even vote. I could complain about that Khaba was OP despite not having played it. I kind of agree in general, because in the usual case the complainer doesn't seem very informed, but sometimes people jump to too early conclusions about what's right or reasonable. It's not mandatory to have played a ship to have an opinion of it and whether it's OP or not. It helps though.

Maybe you'll remain in chat ban hell until you do one good deed to raise your Karma.. like one of those movies where the dude has to earn his wings. Might be worth a try at least. Scrape together 10 Karma by doing nice things
-
Do you go all guns or focus on improving AA?
-
Soo.. Were you able tell how much your Karma dropped?
-
It's tough because the bots are so focused. Takes more cooperation than a random battle to finish with 5 stars. It's good, makes me come back to it to try again.
-
This used to be the case. I wonder if someone know if the increased number of reports you can hand out has changed the max loss of Karma in a single battle.

PVE Scenarios (S1): Which ships for which missions?
loppantorkel replied to Sams_Baneblade's topic in General Discussion
I'm going to give Cleveland a try. Is IFHE a thing for Cleveland or better with just increased fire chance? edit: nvm found some info. Seems like a good idea. -
I think this is the correct tactic. Some battles rest of the team stays way back though and you're alone among too many bots and you die early like a potato.
-
I've got more than 7 reports/compliments to use post patch... I wonder if they've capped the report received by single player. Anyone bombed by some division or is this a thing of the past now?

PVE Scenarios (S1): Which ships for which missions?
loppantorkel replied to Sams_Baneblade's topic in General Discussion
Leander works quite well, but I think Graf Spee is the best ship for me in this operation. Quicker than a bb, but tankier than most cruisers. Good AP and torps for damage, hydro to avoid torps, and heal which is very useful.
