    Captain progression

I move the captains from around tier 4-6 to 8-10 and grind them up. It feels like a decent approach. Exception is Steven Seagal which I grinded from 6-points in Des Moines. Not super effective, but it worked out that too.

    Ranked has started

That's a rough start. I haven't done too well myself. I don't have tier 6 ships with great captains. It's Cleveland, Budyonny, Graf Spee and Leander with decent captains, but I don't feel I can carry in either of these ships. I'm not good in Shinonome either. It feels like a good and pretty fair tier for ranked but it would be a grind to climb the ranks. The games will mostly consist of avoiding mistakes as you try whittle down the opponent. Not terribly exciting imo. I'll play a few games here and there probably, not worth growing grey hairs over it.

How in the name of asshoel did this happen?

I'm sure your mom did the best she could

    Operations - General Feedback

I'll just copy yours and edit according to my experience Newport: very easy to win, getting 5* was fairly difficult, but not detracting to the experience. (too many players got sunk or the CV couldn't be saved) Aegis: easy to win, getting 5* was fairly easy. (save all the transport ships and you have 5*) Killer Whale: easy to win, getting 5* was average in terms of difficulty. Some clarification of objectives could benefit to make it a bit easier - extraction point. Killing first two waves: 3/4 - what does that mean? Forth ship went missing often it seemed. The tactic to suicide outside extraction point was a valid tactic, but not sure it's a suitable tactic from a gameplay perspective - can be tough to grasp for some. (if players bother to read the objectives and look at the mini-map where the extraction point is) Raptor Rescue: very easy to win, getting 5* is also quite easy. Probably the easiest. This or Aegis. (save all the escorting ships and you have 5*) All in all. Fun missions, good balance, nice rewards. Nice new gamemode. Probably benefits from having a few Random players instead of Co-op players only. Seems to be a mix atm.

    PvE Rewards

Did he really say the rewards were there once a day? I thought he just claimed he got good rewards and upgraded several ships or so, with credits earned etc. I could be mistaken though, didn't listen very carefully.
  6. I saw Anotherduck in the other team when he answered my whine about my team's effort to cap A and A alone in North. Seeing teammates being penalized for team damage was the final straw. Predictably, we lost. Anotherduck in shima did his part and came on top of their team. I was top loser in Des Moines
  7. Yes? Huge difference between unicum and potato divs. Not fair for the rest to increase the difference, imo.

    British battleships incoming

I was just radared by a Conquerer. I think around 9-10km. Lasted forever it seemed. They won quite comfortably. Servers will be swarmed by radars... Is WG taking it into account? Just not testing with a Conquerer here or there...

Playerbase and community are more toxic than ever...

You wouldn't get good scores unless you had a few potatoes to abuse in the enemy team. Wouldn't we see another whine if this wasn't the case? I think we would. The game is fine, it's being improved over time. Don't blame mm for a few losses. You never make threads those times you potato and get carried to victory.

    The Forums have changed!!

It seems fine. A bit cleaner. Just hope it won't get laggy or pop ups will appear..

    Is it worth coming back

It's still pretty fun. All classes are viable. IJN dds may be slightly worse off. If you have something better to do than to play a naval multiplayer game, do it. It's just entertainment in the end.
  13. yes... some clarification please.

Suggestion Swedish ships - example minor nation

'You don't mix ship classes'... It's not impossible to do, no harm in suggesting it. ..improbable though.. and I agree, premium is probably better, if implemented at all.. I see that the tier 9 destroyer comes with radar, rockets and a chopper
  15. Picking a ship like Cleveland is an indication that the players might know what they're doing too. Seeing T-22s in the team is usually a bad omen...

    Odds for winning..?

That's why I'm not interested by the characteristics of the ships, just the stats and the likelihood of winning. I may be overthinking it though. Maybe Hakuryu players are just luckier. Doesn't matter. Could it be that you're somewhere around 20% more likely to win in a Hakuryu team when meeting a Midway team? I'll go with that until disproved.

    Odds for winning..?

Hakuryu 10 CV Japan 7,315 53.96% 110,944 1,739 6.6 1.5 21.1 77% 0% 0% Midway 10 CV USA 6,931 46.99% 99,347 1,728 4.8 1.2 27.4 75% 0% 0% In 7123 battles there have 7315 Hakuryus and 6931 Midways. Hakuryus have won 3844 battles and Midways 3347. You can have H vs M, M vs H, H vs H or M vs M, so you'll have 50% chance of having a H vs M matchup instead of the same type of cvs facing off..? ...So out of half of those 7123 battles -> 3562 battles you first have the same type of cvs meeting which will draw both cv types toward 50% and then the rest - 3562 battles there's enough difference in power between the cvs to create a 7% gap in WR? The true gap is 14%?? I think I've created a similar thread a year ago or so... There aren't too many factors in this, but I'm not sure about the odds of winning on either side. It would be interesting to know though, if anyone is up for a bit of math. It seems the difference between the cvs is greater than I thought.

    Odds for winning..?

I don't believe there is either. The stats ere there, still some people say it's too complicated. I think it's just math, but you need the 'right skills' to calculate it.. It's difficult enough, but probably possible without too much work. I think it's interesting enough to see the result. 54% vs 47% WR doesn't sound too terrible, but I suspect depending on what nation of cv you have on your side affect the result to a far greater degree.
  19. loppantorkel

    Odds for winning..?

    No one's up for it?
  20. Okay. 4/5 just seemed half arsed I think that's fairly common. 5/5 otoh. I think I've played each mission 7-8 times, maybe upward 10 on some and reached 5 stars once on them. They aren't that difficult, but coordinating and following the directives makes them tough. Doesn't Hard Mode require 7-man divisions? That would make it totally different.
  21. loppantorkel

    Odds for winning..?

You're totally missing the point. Like wayyy off. The question is - what's the odds of winning when MM in a Hakuryu team respective when in a Midway team vs the other cv. In a random battle. Stats are there. It should be possible to calculate the odds. Just not that easy, for me at least.
  22. loppantorkel

    Odds for winning..?

I think there is a way. There aren't that many variables, but you're right about the nonlinearity of WR.. must be a way to calculate it for two ships though.
  23. loppantorkel

PVE Scenarios (S1): Which ships for which missions?

Budyonny and Leander seem to be working pretty well, better than Cleveland imo. Still haven't achieved 5 stars though. People don't realise that dying outside extraction area is a valid tactic.

    Radar at Tier V?

Does hydro sound anything in the detected ship, in real life? In a quiet submarine - would you hear a destroyer hydroing you?
